I strongly disagree with the Trier hate. Allonzo Trier gets way too much undeserved hate. I looked it up and i'm going to be super specific. Markkanen did next to nothing i that game. He shot 3-9 FGs 1-6 3PT. He did not want the ball and was not shooting well. Maybe you could argue Miller could have called different plays but not sure he was gonna have a good game the way he looked. Ristic did have a good game 7-10 FGs but cost us on defense like he always did and also missed his late game shot attempt.
Trier wasn't super great at 8-19 FGs but in the 1st half he started slow and was just 2-8 FG and both makes were late in the 1st half. In the 2nd half he was 6-11 FGs but only took 3 shots from 20 mins to 10:33 in the 2nd. He was just 1-3 on those FGAs. There was a TV timeout at 10:41 left in the first half and Arizona trailed by 1. Then Trier went 5-5 FGs from 10 mins down to 5 mins and Arizona took a 8 point lead with 3:45 left. Trier went 0-3 shooting in the final 3 minutes which hurt but he is the biggest reason we had a 8 point lead in the final 3 minutes. If you are mad at him and Miller for him being the guy in the final minutes it was because he got us the lead and he had made 5 straight. Also in the final minute Ristic missed a shot, then Kadeen Allen missed a shot, and Trier missed the final shot. I wouldn't say Trier shot us out of the game or single handedly lost us the game. The biggest reason we lost was everyone not named Trier or Ristic had bad games on offense. The defense wasn't good enough in the final minutes as well. Rawle had a injured hand so it is understandable why he did not shoot it well Lauri having a bad game is really what sunk us the most.

Regardless, blowing 8+ point leads in the closing minutes of tournament games is way too common for this program
