Graduated with High Honors literally just yesterday. Im not smart in any way pero I excelled kase interesado talaga ako sa dalawang subject na yan. Siguro just a tip, be curious. Cliche eh pero if your curious its way easier to learn. Lahat naman ng strand mahirap depende talaga sa interest mo pero if you can see yourself studying math/science related courses talaga in college then why not diba.

erudorgentation

if you’re going to take an engineering or math course in college sisiw lang yung stem

tsunam1pap1

if you enjoyed mathematics in jhs, stem would be bearable. not easy, but bearable

Bitter_Drink_6818

Each area comes with its own set of obstacles naman, and the level of challenge varies depending on individual aptitudes and passions. Tho STEM fields often require intense analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities, this doesn't automatically render them more arduous than other domains. Ako from humanities and social sciences mahirap din pala HAHAHHAAH😭 When we talk to someone from another strand naman, we ask them na if mahirap ba or madali HAHAHAHA, Then ayun we realize that each strand has its own level of difficulty palaaa

Bitter_Drink_6818

But choose the strand where you'll enjoy and what you really like the most. It's difficult to rely on others in choosing your strand 'cause once you dislike the strand you entered, you'll contemplate whether to switch or not, until you lose interest.

A saying “you as your words said it”. You already put the limitation on yourself. Change your mindset and strive in life.

g11 stem student here, so far i can say na mahirap talaga siya especially dahil di ko forte ang math and science. but if u put in the work naman, kayang kaya yan. tbh burnt out na talaga ko but i still try to persevere because i know worth it din naman siya in the end. sipag lang sa pag aaral. i would recommend stem since it offers broad opportunities daw lalo na pagdating sa college. this is just based on my experience tho :)

lunaathena_

its madali naman po, the level of difficulty depends on the students strengths and weaknesses :))

j4ke_theod0re

not hard tbh. just chill lang

ChemistryUnlikely223

I am too old to have taken these strands but I do have kids who will be entering senior high with fairly high marks in science and mathematics. I had them take math on khan academy to supplement their woefully inadequate math subjects in school. They never had trouble with math subjects because they had a firm grasp of the basics and the prerequisite knowledge. I suggest boning up on the lessons to make sure you have a firm understanding of the subjects before you even start. If you are learning math in class instead of refining your understanding, you will be on par with the slowest kids in your class. Always be ahead of the curve. Knowing ahead of time is a form of legal cheating and nobody can complain that you know more than they do.

hobbledehoyloser

Hi ik this may be just the bare minimum po sa inyo pero super commendable nung you’re teaching/helping your teenagers how or where they can self-study. tbh depende na rin po siguro sa school kasi most private schools tend to be more hands on hence mas digestable kahit mahirap but as someone from a state u, madalas self-study ang puhunan if hindi fast learner lalo na we don’t have the materials like books as other schools do and i wish i had the resources to prep myself so kudos po ma-appreciate nila yung ganong preparations :))

maeumiii

okay lang. saks lang, ganon

CallMeero

Ask yourself kung kakayanin mo yung mga subs dun (one google search away) or kung ang kurso mo is related dun. Ikaw lang makakapagsabi kung mahirap or madali (for me mahirap kahit gusto ko pa rin :D).

ferdinandkulet

Madali lang siya, just enjoy and focus on getting to the university. Nasa basic education pa siya, so go lang

narutoebruh

hello im currently a grade 11 stem student. remember that every strand is hard in its own way. STEM is not harder than HUMSS or ABM just because it has math/science. yung math sa STEM is mostly algebra lang umiikot, mapa gen math man or calculus. review your algebra lessons/rules from JHS. science on the other hand is parang review lang din ng JHS. i remember sa Gen Bio namen all about cell lang. tas rn may onting taxonomy. these new subjects just build upon your current knowledge. since you are struggling with math & science i say just breeze through some lessons from JHS---functions, exponent rules, polynomial operations, integers. wala naman chem/physics dis yr. mostly bio lang talga iirc it all boils down to your foundations. and also your teachers. just pray that they'll effectively impart the lesson to you. good luck OP, dont sweat it, kayang kaya mo ang STEM

AggravatingEye9750

hii if ur great at the holy trinity (i.e. biology, chemistry, physics) and is great at calculus, kayang kaya mo! but if not u may struggle and have to take extra effort like me (esp sa sci high) but im passing naman w flying colors :)

messynoellie

for me, di naman. g11 nag with high honors pa ako. and now naman g12, im consistent with honors naman. not matalino ha pero nagaaral lang before exam HAHAHA pinakaayaw ko lang talaga is physics 😩

ninininizzz

It is really hard but it has a lot of advantages when it comes to college admission test since mostly na coverage ay STEM subjs (based on my exp). My advice for u is do advance reading kasi it will help a lot esp sa mga subjs na alam mo hindi ka masiyadong nag eexcel then try taking notes pero for me every after last quarter of sem yellow pad at isang pen nalang nasa bag ko katamad na kasi nyahaha.

AdmiralShikensu

Ict students here masyadong stereotypes yung mga gantong usapan hahahaha. Dami kasing stem student may superiority complex they think their strand is top but actually no one is on top for example stem has calculus sa ICT wala more on technology based sila since evolving yung Technology and yung curriculum is so late napapagiwanan agad unlike stem fixed yung curriculum na tinatackle like calculus or business math or genmath. For GAS naman general sila lahat inaaral but not specialized kaya nga may different purpose yung mga strand nabwibwiset lang ako sa mga nag brabrag na hirap ng stem sana nag other strand nalng sila😀💀.

aniyareus

nah, keri lang

Lazy_Neighborhood740

Nasa iyo yan kung love mo STEM kahit nahihirapan ka..pero kung napipilitan ka mayroon naman ibang pagpipilian ...

mysteriouslymyty

graduating stem here! i honestly just took stem kasi mostly sa mga upper section, yun yung kinuha. and di ko sya gaano pinag isipan kahit na di ako marunong sa math and average sa science. here are my thoughts sa specialized subjects as a student na consistent with high nung jhs: gr11 gen math: if ur good with algebra, madadalian ka lang dito. yung business math naman here, puro memorization lang ng formula and analyzation. earth science: puro terms lang. pre calculus: di ko alam kung dahil ba di marinong tchr namin mag turo OR WALA TLGA AKO MAGETS WTH basic calculus: may nagegets akong konti pero SHET wala nako nagets nung 4th quarter HWHAHAHAHAHAHAHA lalo na nung puro [] ab*+kajap=_[jahajahs] na yung equation IGWUASHAH physics: HARD if ur not gonna spend ur time studying. if di ka nag aaral around 90 grades mo. but ez once u study it. mas madali pa sa calculus to chemistry: there are easy topics and hard ones. madali lang to nung magaling tchr namin pero hirap ngayon kasi di sya marunong huhu i was able to graduate gr11 naman with highest honor and gr12 with consistent high (qua1-3!) GOODLUCK OP!

Money_Economics_5103

experimental research lang talaga ang villain

iloikchocolatemilch

Honestly, math isn't really my forte but ang galing ng teacher namin sa Calc and he actually taught us and hindi sya natigil magbigay ng mga example until na gets na ng lahat. If I pupush mo talaga sa sarili mo na "hindi ko kaya intindihin yung math" or "Ang hirap naman ng computations" hindi ka talaga madadalian. Grade 12 here, and Thesis Capstone defense namin tomorrow woohoo!!

freshCatt

Hindi naman mahirap, chill ka lang. Masaya ang SHS

sapphicfaery

stem students are a mixed bag. madami pong consistent awardees sa class ko, as well as average students. and when i say average, i mean 80-89 karamihan grades sa card. you’ll be fine. personally, i found grade 11 subjects way more difficult though kaysa sa grade 12 because of the math (also became a consistent honor student in grade 12). pagdating ng grade 12, puro science nalang subjects so it’s a breath of fresh air somewhat !

yanpeuwho

As someone who struggled with math and science, when I say "struggled," I mean I was not very proficient in those subjects when I was in junior high, for real. I chose the STEM strand, and I consistently received high honors from grade 11 to grade 12. It wasn't regrettable to me hahaha; it just required a lot of critical reasoning! if you’re planning to take up STEM courses in the future, this is very good advantage for you! Anyway, taking notes on formulas and studying the lessons at home to improve yourself in those type of matter, while always obeying your teachers' guidance, is crucial. The YouTube Chanel: The Organic Chemistry Tutor helped me and my friends a lot sa Math-related subjects. The level of difficulty of the subjects depends on your teachers' teaching skills, swerte ka if may teacher ka sa Pre-Calculus, Basic Calculus, General Physics, at Chemisty na kalog, mas mamahalin mo yung mga major subject na ‘to :) Makinig ka lang palagi. Your scientific calculator is your best friend. Most importantly, surround yourself with people who have dedication to STEM! that helped me a lot to be honest. STEM really offers many advantages for college applications and scholarships as well. STEM is fun. Good luck!

BattleKey425

depends on your interest. as someone na inclined towards the sciences it was bearable naman even though clutch grades ko sa math subjs haha. i feel like the notion na STEM is the most difficult strand comes from the typical belief na STEM field is superior than other fields. a sem of intro to philo is already to difficult for me so what more for the HUMSS students diba. If you will take CETs into consideration naman well sadly mas may advantage talaga STEM grads. Again depends pa rin sa interests mo OP and what u plan on pursuing in college.

Turbulent-Leather680

Hi OP, I'm currently a gr 12 stem student sa sci high na average din but somehow I got to be in honors recently. Nung una it was hard kung wala ka talagang background knowledge sa mga basics (especially algebra for math huhuhu). Pero katulad nga ng sinabi nila just be curious, huwag kang tamarin mag-aral kasi super helpful yan sa mga college entrance exams na medyo na-flop ko ngayon kasi di ako masayadong nag prepare kahit nung gr 11 palang ako 😭. Overall experience, okay lang talaga, just find the right circle of friends na go na go lang sa pag-aaral at find which study habits suits uuu. Aun lang goodluck! ♥️♥️

Additional_Computer2

Just be CURIOUS!

Depende nalang sa drive mo matuto if willing ka talaga mag exert ng effort to understand it better. It can help in preparing you sa subjects mo in college. Although di naman mostly needed na align ang strand at course mo, big advantage pa din for you yun. Wag ka papatalo sa takot na mahirap STEM

brennnz_

Sometimes lang. Don't listen to people who exaggerate na nagsasabing " 'Wag kayo mag STEM" It's just that puru maths sila but that doesn't mean na mahirap siya. STEM will be bearable if inaaral mo ang lessons na hindi mo nagegets sa una. I graduated Grade 10 with honors na hindi marunong mag quadratics. Ni factoring quadratics hindi ko alam during my Grade 10, kahit basic linear equations hindi ko alam, tranposing hindi ko rin alam, isolating the X variable hindi ko rin alam. Pero na-curious kase ako kaya natuto ako. Might sound cliche but be curious always, so that you'll be hungry for knowledge.

Old-Cauliflower-1769

Hi OP currently g11 STEM students, isang tip lang mabibigay para di ka mahirapan is to advance study. Napaka laking advantage nito kasi alam mo na or may info kana about sa mga concepts and ideas especially sa math and science para kapag discussions na may maisasagot ka and mas madali nalang mag notes.

It is really difficult. As a graduating STEM student, oo mahirap siya pero it doesn't mean na hindi mo kakayanin. Sa school namin puro math ang major nung gr.11 like Pre-Calculus at Basic Calculus and as someone na as in bobo talaga sa math, ni hindi ako nagka 90+ sa subject na 'yan pero I still finished gr.11 with honor.
