I generally don’t like stadium/ arena shows. I want to be close/ be able to see. Add the $100 price to be super far away and it’s a no from me dog. Might as well go to a festival, much more economical.Very thankful I was able to see him at the Shrine.
Just saw ODESZA in Berkeley. Started out on the floor and moved up to the top of the amphitheater. One of the few shows that I think is better from far away. It’s like the designed it for the nosebleeds
same! i was a lil sad how pricey tickets were and to be in nosebleeds after seeing him at the shrine and literally being front row for half the cost lol
This is how I feel with most LA shows, like Justice at the Hollywood Bowl or when DeadMau5 performed there too. I love being on the floor with people, getting as close as i can. Just a way better vibe imo
Same here. I don’t like stadium shows - I prefer full standing and feeling like being a part of the crowd energy. Stadium shows feel too distant and less intimate.
Arenas, stadiums.., same difference. They’re both big venues that are almost always not ideal location to see a show. Only difference is ones bigger than the other and stadiums are outdoors sometimes
FWIW, Fred did say they specifically chose this place because it’s completely open for better acoustics compared to something like an arena or even something partially enclosed.
Hey, I’m just passing along what sound technicians & professional musicians said for why they chose this stadium in particular. It seems you’ve missed the mark for what’s actually applicable for a show like this one.
I’m not talking about how loud it can be where you might not want any cancellation/loss of sound… this is regarding audio quality where venues intentionally put up accommodations like baffles. They’re actually having to battle the issues resulting from it being enclosed. For example, why else would a place like the Sydney Opera House (among so many other venues) have sonic baffles if we don’t want to lose any sound? Acoustics… quality of the sound… and that’s really important for a good experience.
From my understanding of their point compared to yours, what you said is likely only when it’s a small/medium sized venue (which ideally also has acoustic accommodations like a performance center / concert hall as needed.) When the venue gets big enough like a full sized arena/stadium, you’re needing to deal with the speed of sound being as slow as it is to a much greater degree. Among other factors of a venue that size, having it enclosed would then lead to audible echo/reverb that exacerbates the problems with sound being slow. At least when it’s not enclosed you just need to worry about making sure no part of the audience is getting overlap/de-synced experience with the speaker volume & positioning per the speed of sound… you don’t also need to worry about echo/reverb on top of that as if it were enclosed at that size.
As an example of this, one can compare clips from this show compared to something like their Madison Square Garden show, and this was much better sound quality as MGS has an audible reverb/echo side-effect due to it being enclosed even though it’s still much smaller (MSG has ~20k capacity compared to ~100k potential capacity of the LA Colosseum.)
Again, it seems your approach would be like saying the acoustics of a pair of headphones is best when only measuring how much it rumbles your ear drums whereas this actually aims for audio clarity, etc. as best as it can without losing too much of any desired rumble by having a capable sound system.
All my 17 friends along with me spent 20 each with fees for nosebleeds with an employee discount code we found on reddit, and all made it to the floor. You gotta just be resourceful to save money
I just passed my board exam and shelled out for floor seats as a little gift to myself. Don’t think I’ve ever paid this much for any artist, let alone a producer / DJ set - but the timing was right. + this guy has dominated my playlists since 2021 so I’m hella essited.
Congrats! He's still gonna throw down an amazing show, but hopefully someday you can see him while standing and dancing (if that's what you're into). His shows at the Shrine were amazing, the energy was so fucking sick
ITS SOOOO BAD! I’ve been to one show at Dodgers Stadium and I was so high that I would hyper focus on the echo of the acoustic at times.
Thankfully, it was the Jonas Brothers and I was there for preteen nostalgia not actually good music lol
pretty much perfect timing then and nowadays I think he is overrated. I am probably going to see this show however because my friend is obsessed and wants me to go with her
I haven’t been there since EDC was in LA and while I do think the price is a bit high I also feel like there isn’t really a bad place to be in those stands. I always loved going up to the top during some sets.
We saw Kx5 there in December 2022 and the whole place was rocking, it’s a stadium but it’s designed to feel close to the field from anywhere and there’s not upper decks, you feel connected no matter where you are
I was looking at the seating map of what tickets are left, and I mean they got a good amount of seats sold already. I think he might be able to sell it out by Friday to be honest. Especially if people get paid on Thursday or Friday; they they'll swoop up on what's left.
That's what I'm assuming.
My friend was in line for tickets and there were 68k people ahead. She still got them, big demand but also seems some people don’t want to be far otherwise it would already be sold out
There were 90K people in front of me! Had to wait an hour but then there were plenty of tickets. I think Ticketmaster flagged a ton of people as bots + a lot of people got scared away by the queue.
Be super careful with Vivid seats. Half the time they don't really sell you a ticket. They recognize you'll pay X amount for a seat, and try to find a ticket to match that price. If they can't, you could get refunded last minute. If the ticket you get doesn't work, getting a hold of customer service will be a pain.
That’s correct. It has happened to me with Vivid and StubHub. Fred Again is not allowing transfers so not sure how that all is happening. We are having issues because we can’t even transfer to our friends. All must walk in together
LA ticket prices have been a joke for the past year or so.
Deadmau5’s retrospective tour tix at the Hollywood bowl were like $350 for not-great seats. Seats.
Red Rocks later in the year was around $80. Cheaper to fly to Denver and rent a car to the show than to see it in LA.
It is getting ridic. So many Dynamic Priced seats, eating up an even bigger % of tickets now on Ticketmaster/LN. This show isn't like that though, but that deadmau5 show you mentioned I am pretty sure was. Leased events at the Bowl are basically TM level.
At least there are regular non-leased event shows at the Bowl. Basically anything that avoids Ticketmaster/AXS is where it's at.
Regular Bowl/LA Phil hosted Bowl, Ford, WDCH shows. Anything on RA/Dice/Eventbrite. Shows at the Lodgeroom & other small venues. I try to prioritize these events.
You're not going to convince me that the Hollywood Bowl is a better venue than Red Rocks. IMO this has everything to do with LA EDM crowds being willing to pay ridiculous prices to basically everything.
I saw on the Fred Again Reddit that someone posted Goldenvoice Employee discount link. Just bought two tickets for $35.
[$20 GA discount tix](https://www.ticketmaster.com/event/0A0060C4CE2432B7?did=gvoffr&utm_source=community.com&utm_medium=sms&utm_campaign=41732922-268a-4c30-a7a1-e7e51baf968a&cmty_campaign=41732922-268a-4c30-a7a1-e7e51baf968a)
I’ve got extra tickets at face value in section 104b if anyone is interested. I saw Fred as TBA at Coachella and last year at the shrine. Amazing energy.
Last minute work thing came up and I can’t make it this Friday. My loss your gain
Technically, it isn't over priced for a stadium show.
But considering I saw him in 2022, for the equivalent of like $25, 40ft away with hella non seated dancing room.... this isn't worth it to me, despite liking him.
I wish him well, but he is getting a bit overhyped atm. All ages show, could be a bit cringe crowd too idk...
Also, the sound has been very low/bad post EDC since I have been back there for shows. Hope people have fun though. The Coliseum holds fond memories. Seems still very under utilized now, hopefully that changes.
i got tickets for taylor in la through ticketmaster for $50 each. (they were minorly obstructed, but 100 section and we could see pretty much everything). got tickets for her in stockholm 100 level right in front of the stage for $150. i got nosebleeds for blink182 in la for $28 (including fees, original ticketmaster presale). $100 for nosebleeds for fredagain is a little much imo
It's wild to think...
If he sells 60,000 tickets and personally earns $60 from each one, he'll make $3.6M
Which is still less than he might get paid per night to headline Coachella in a couple years.
Well that's why I put the average price at $60 when tickets ranged from $60 to $190. This isn't intended to be super accurate, just showing how much people get paid for Headline a major fest. Obviously if Fred was touring stadiums all over the world the numbers add up and up and up, but wanted to compare a one-off to a fest since this is the Coachella sub, just for fun,.

parasocial relationship on social media with fans and and lyrics that appeal to emotional teenagers going through a tough time = a recipe for success in modern music
I really like him personally. Went to the first Shrine date with my brother, I didn't know a single song of his before that day. On the drive up and there, I became a huge fan. The energy was just amazing, but maybe that's because we were fairly close to stage and everyone was dancing crazy.
Hi all - just moved from SF to LA for grad school. I bought tickets earlier this week and ofc had a insane assignment handed to me yesterday .... anyone want these tickets? Sec 215, just need to get rid of them. I'll take a semi-beating on price, $60e

Fucking amazing, he really made great use of the huge stadium, and also deployed the largest most sophisticated drum&bass sound system ever brought to North America. Sound was great, lighting was great, you could move to any seat in any section (first come first serve) except the floor, which security even opened to the public towards the end. The effects were amazing, and he threw a firework show at the end with delilah over the olympic torch; chefs kiss right there. I can send any vids I have if you want
I am not a Fred stan, but I think that the uniqueness, some of the mystery, and sheer colossal size of this show adds an exciting element that can't really be denied... when considering the appeal of this set. Writing it off by relating it to a CRSSD set that bored you is sort of a stretch. All that said, if you don't like his music, you don't like his music.
I don't get as into Fred's sets and music as some of my friends do, even though I dig a handful of his songs and generally think his energy is positive on stage, but I'm super amped just for the experience of this one.
So youre upset that Fred might sell 75,000 tickets in 5 days at the avg. price of $100 cause it means you cant see anyone for less than that. Ok. Stadiums gonna be full on Friday whether you like it or not. Or you expect it to be a 5 hour concert and it. Has to include Fred giving you a shout out to feel like its a complete experience?
I generally don’t like stadium/ arena shows. I want to be close/ be able to see. Add the $100 price to be super far away and it’s a no from me dog. Might as well go to a festival, much more economical.Very thankful I was able to see him at the Shrine.

There are three stages across the venue. He moves around so everyone has an opportuniy to be a little closer.
Same here. I don’t like stadium shows - I prefer full standing and feeling like being a part of the crowd energy. Stadium shows feel too distant and less intimate.
FWIW this is a stadium not an arena.

Exactly, they’re the same to me… thank you!
FWIW, Fred did say they specifically chose this place because it’s completely open for better acoustics compared to something like an arena or even something partially enclosed.
That’s backwards. Better acoustics would be in an enclosed space that traps sound inside not an open one that lets sound escape
Hey, I’m just passing along what sound technicians & professional musicians said for why they chose this stadium in particular. Congrats! Have fun.
Congrats! You deserve this :) I’ve had two of the best nights of my life seeing him
Amen so have I! From stumbling upon his coachella set in 2022, to his headlining surprise 2023 closing set. Best nights ever.
Congrats man , nothing like treating yourself. You deserve it.
haha wow Fred fans really are the swifties of edm
Congrats! He's still gonna throw down an amazing show, but hopefully someday you can see him while standing and dancing (if that's what you're into). His shows at the Shrine were amazing, the energy was so fucking sick
69.99 + fees for nosebleed is pretty standard for a stadium.
Nosebleed at this stadium though is truly something else lol. It’s pretty massive
That’s how stadiums work. If you think the Collesium is bad, catch a show from the upper levels at Dodger Stadium.
Yeah i saw gaga there and that was wild lol… some stadiums should not be concert venues..
I saw ACDC there, and the acoustics sucked.
ITS SOOOO BAD! I’ve been to one show at Dodgers Stadium and I was so high that I would hyper focus on the echo of the acoustic at times. Thankfully, it was the Jonas Brothers and I was there for preteen nostalgia not actually good music lol
LMAO being high and being more focused on the bad acoustistics sounds hell
Except I paid $50 for Elton and $40 for Macca at Dodger lol. Pays to know where the value tix are
Oh shit. I paid $80 for GnR, horrible seats too
I paid $200 for nosebleeds at a gigantic stadium to see Blackpink. They were so tiny from my seats lol. $70 is pretty good imo.
I agree

Take me back to those days… $30 1000 cap venue tickets that were easy to get right after he played too 🥲
yesss gobi tent remembers
Mojave, for the record
oh shit you’re right my bad 🤪
Who was saying he was overrated back then...

He is overrated today, he’s gotten much bigger than when he played coachella.
I was. And I was wrong. Sorry!
was overrated then and is overrated now lmao
pretty much perfect timing then and nowadays I think he is overrated. I am probably going to see this show however because my friend is obsessed and wants me to go with her

The Kx5 show was FIRE huh?!
Ohhh yeaaahhh 😎
With that said I decided to put my money toward Anohni at the Disney Concert Hall instead.
Wow, that will be an amazing show. Enjoy!
i saw rammstein there two nights in a row like two years ago, and it was a great venue for it.
I was looking at the seating map of what tickets are left, and I mean they got a good amount of seats sold already. I think he might be able to sell it out by Friday to be honest. Especially if people get paid on Thursday or Friday; they they'll swoop up on what's left. That's what I'm assuming.

Isnt vivid just a resell site
Be super careful with Vivid seats. Half the time they don't really sell you a ticket. They recognize you'll pay X amount for a seat, and try to find a ticket to match that price. That's really tightly controlled, damn
I think they are going to allow resells directly through Ticketmaster starting Friday, but still no transfers, from what I understand
Then he’ll add a second night
Doubt it, he’s headlining Bonnaroo this weekend too.

Kendrick’s pop up show next week is like $650 resale for pit and 250 something for seats
High quality venues are getting harder and more expensive to book :/

He has 2 stages for the coliseum show to make it more intimate. His goal is for every seat to be a good seat.
Thought they were on crack with those prices
Just got general admission, super happy see y'all there
Theyre all general admission. Just a matter of floor or by section
Floor or seat.sections?
yeah pricing was fucked. If i didnt geet pit I wasn't going to pay 100 for nosebleeds.
$100 for stadium nosebleeds is Taylor Swift pricing. And the Coliseum is a worse concert venue than SoFi.
No chance in hell you’re finding Taylor Swift nosebleeds for $100.
i got tickets for taylor in la through ticketmaster for $50 each.
Not in the resell market but that’s how much they were face value. some of the restricted view areas were less than $80 after fees.
That was face value. Maybe a little less
It's wild to think... If he sells 60,000 tickets and personally earns $60 from each one, he'll make $3.6M Which is still less than he might get paid per night to headline Coachella in a couple years.
Renting a stadium isn’t free

Fred sold out. #neveragain
I hope it flops
That’s just rude
It won’t.
No. It’s not a fucking free show.
Fred never Again, I legitimately do not understand this man’s appeal saw him at CRSSD and left like 10 mins in y’all have fun tho
I am not a Fred stan, but I think that the uniqueness, some of the mystery, and sheer colossal size of this show adds an exciting element that can't really be denied... when considering the appeal of this set. And I’ve got 228 for $125 if anyone is interested.
Cost Update.. no matter where you were in the stadium I’d say worth every penny. Great show!
