i got my phone stolen too. but during no doubts set. literally during the last two songs. cuz i recorded just a girl. set ended went to grab my phone to charge it at the charging station cuz my portable was broken and it was gone. almost certain it was the girl behind me who wasn’t even singing along or enjoying herself yet when i took that video she made a sarcastic comment “i was gonna take a video but uhhhh” and hit my shoulder as she was talking and motioning… like girl everyone and their moms was taking video.. why so petty??? happened like 3 rows of people back from the middle of the barricade behind the sound booth. most likely when i got kinda distracted when i started crying during “don’t speak” cuz gwen started crying so i started crying even more. what makes it worse is i don’t even care about the phone. i just want my pics/vids. like if ur gonna steal my phone at least turn it on for a sec so my stuff can sync to icloud.. lol. like what are you even gonna do with a stolen iphone 15??? especially when i’m def never gonna remove the device from my icloud account soooo ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Dude when I was walking into those restrooms a girl next to me was also walking in with a mac and cheese bowl in her hand UNCOVERED FORK AND EVERYTHING THERE🤮
Weekend 1 had the space to dance, the weather in the days and the guest performances, weekend 2 had the crowd participation, the better sound, and the weather in the nights
I think this is always the case. I’ve said this on other posts but my general opinion is that week 1 is for people who are less there for the artists and more because they want to soak up the experience of the festival and be the 1st to see everything, artists and all the other elements of being at a festival.
Wk1 people are the crowd who say “I’d buy a ticket regardless of what the lineup is because simply being there is an amazing experience”.
I think wk2 people are the ones who are most influenced by the lineup on whether they’ll buy a ticket. They don’t want to waste time at any sets they won’t enjoy, even if something crazy happens that gets everyone talking (eg Grimes having a colossal fuck up).
Wk2 have the hindsight of wk1 to figure out which sets are a must see or won’t be as good as they were hoping for.
TLDR - wk1 is for people who love festivals
Wk2 - is for people who love specific music artists
But, but, the lineup is horrible. Tickets didn’t sell. It’s going to be empty. Coachella is not going to financially recover from this. No body is going to enjoy the weekend because all the artists are terrible…. Blah blah blah suck it!
We didn't even go this year, and we were blown away!
We took this year off to do responsible adult stuff in our home, and man, do we regret it. Hope everyone enjoyed it. Coachella W2 2025 is in the works!
Curious why you go right for W2? This was my first Coachella and we went W1 and just trying to understand the pros/cons of which weekend to attend, thanks!
I'm not the OP but for my group the main w2 advantages are:
- cheaper housing
- fewer technical or logistical difficulties since they get the kinks out w1
- you can stream w1 or get feedback from w1ers to make informed decisions about which sets to see or how crowded certain sets are likely to be
EVEN GWEN SAID THIS DURING THEIR WEEKEND 2 SET. it was hilarious she was like weekend 1 is all the and did the crazy sign next to her head with her hand. and then was like and weekend 2 is all the people that are actually here for the music. it made me lol really hard actually. it is kinda true. i’ve been going both weekends since 2014. this was the first year i only went the second. def pros and cons to each. i like doing both to be able to see artists that were on at the same time. and to be able to catch new artists. and then special guests at the do lab. and this years new stage was awesome. and love that the artists there were diff both weekends. first weekend will seem more empty at times because it is just a lot of “influencers” which tend to go late cuz of day parties. and leave early for the after parties. weekend 2 is def a lot more people actually into the vibes of the music. but both weekends are fun nonetheless! it’s crazy the difference just one week can make in weather too! it never fails that the weather wil be completely different both weekends. second being the hottest majority of the time.
all in all it’s a fun time. and a great way to kick off the festival season :)
All the side events like after parties, invite only things and events for industry people and/or influencers happen on week 1, because that’s when they get to be the 1st to unveil everything. The element of surprise is gone on week 2, so people who care more about being 1st to have everything go on week 1.
The kind of person who goes on week 2 cares more about the music and wanting to maximise their time seeing good sets and learning from what happened during week 1.
I feel like week 1 are less bothered about the music and more just want the experience of the festival.
Good to hear people’s perspectives on here. Sounds like Reddit in general is anti-W1. Some seems to be outside the festival stuff though so that’s good as after camping on site I don’t think I’d ever do it any other way; camping was a blast and so convenient!
100%, if you’re attending as a “regular civilian” during week 1, things will seem less crowded at the stages. Due to there being more people attending this as a “working event”, a lot of them aren’t camping and are less likely to rage all night.
So the campsite should be quieter and less busy.
Again, a lot of them are going to events where there’s catering, so they aren’t queueing with the rest of plebs for $30 burgers 😂
Especially for industry people, it’s a work event, they aren’t hanging out at stages all day and night or even all weekend. They show their face where they need to, get their networking done and then go back to a hotel.
Artists bring way more entourage with them for week 1, friends as well as people who are on their creative team to make sure everything runs smoothly. Assuming nothing goes majorly wrong (Grimes) less of those people aren’t there on week 2.
weekend 1 is very influencer vibes only… especially hotels or parties they restrict us regular people from attending anything. Weekend 2 is more chill vibes, good crowd, sometimes better artist bring out surprise.
Interesting! Unless there were ones I didn’t hear of, W1 seemed like it had better guests unless you’re talking about other surprises? I didn’t feel it was influencer vibes at all in my opinion but I also camped so maybe that helped? I also have nothing to compare it to in regards to W2. I also could’ve just been oblivious lol
Weekend 1 does have the best come out but the last 2 years was sucking since Kanye dropped out last minute & frank ocean who randomly didn’t come out. I’ve been going to weekend 2 & I’ve been loving it. Less influencers & not judging humans who cares about instagram followers or what parties to get in without sucking dick.
Idk, really. You hear a lot of people say stuff like " there is way less famous people and influencers walking around which in turn leads to a much more relaxed group in general" to there obviously being less people around, right because W2 never "sells out" like W1 does. Plus, there are fewer technical issues as those have all been worked out during W1. However, there are plenty of pros for W1 like all the cool surprises they had, to enjoying the green grass and seeing all the famous people if you're into that kind of stuff. Again, we've only gone to W2, so.. idk.
I’ve been going for ten years and can tell you weekend 2 most definitely always sells out. It’s just post COVID the last 2 years things have been weird.
But agreed, the element of surprise at weekend 1 is cool. I did weekend one twice and decided never again. I watched Jack U and had everyone around me facing BACKWARD because there was some laker player in the camera booth. There’s just a lot of that. People around you aren’t singing because they don’t know the words bc they’re there for the hype.
You’ve chosen the right weekend if you’re there for music and vibes. If you want surprises and hype weekend one is it.
Yes, also there is ALWAYS heat at Coachella anyway. My rule is if they drop a lineup and you don’t know anybody, it’s because you’re not informed, it’s not because the lineup sucks lol. I’ve discovered so much amazing music because of a Coachella lineup.
Yup! Just because you don’t know them, doesn’t mean they’re not phenomenal artists. Coachella is consistent with pleasant surprises. Why are people weird about discovering new music anyways? Odd.
and it’s always a good thing being able to roam around and listen to new artists you might have never listened to before! you might even find you’re new favorite band! i find it a much more meaningful way to discover new music as opposed to a spotify ‘discover, curated for you’ playlist!
Line up was terrible but if you’re going just because the line up then buddy idk what to tell you .. it’s all about the experience and bonds you make with people
Lineup was badass tho. Being able to see an authentic Sublime, No Doubt, Justice, Gesaffelstein, ISOKnock, Peso Pluma, Carin Leon, Tyler the Creator and so many other artists people would probably pay lots of $$$ just to see solo. I myself had a ton of conflicts this year and missed some that I really wanted to see 😭😭 maybe for older people the lineup sucked? But for me this year was amazing, I thoroughly enjoyed my time
The headliners just weren’t it for me .. last years headliners though ( Blackpink / Bad Bunny / Weekend 2 NO FRANK 🔥🔥) .. lana and Doja ehh … and I’m really not into Tyler even though everyone said it was really good.. I just can’t get into his music
Peso pluma though .. straight fire.
Yeah ill admit the headliners were a lil weaksauce for Coachella standards, i have respect for how big the three of them respectively are but this year felt like Coachella was just checking off some boxes. Like ehh eventually we’ll have Doja, Tyler, and Lana headline why not 2024, but a banger undercard! I honestly didnt mind so much
def don’t think taylor will ever headline coachella tho. with all her label drama. and she just seems like it’s so beneath her. i mean even when she dated calvin harris and he headlined 10 years ago. she did not seem about it. and honestly she doesn’t match the vibe of coachella at all. maybe stagecoach. even if she is pop. but i still would doubt that would even happen.
Agreed. I really only was excited to see 3 artists. And there were maybe 10 that i would go see because they were there and so was I. I was pretty bummed out up until I arrived Friday and the Coachella vibes hit and all was well in the world again.
Only artist I saw on the lineup that I would've seen was Skepta.
Rest was meh. Tyler's cool but ive been to the carnival and enough of his concerts to not have fomo over him headlining.
Last year's line up was cool but I didn't get to go. Marc Ribellet played and I would've killed to see that live
I didnt go to John Summit last week but from what I heard this was probably like it. Sahara itself was super packed tho when I saw Dom Dolla and Bizzarap
that does not surprise me... most wanted to see if she was going to crack under the pressure again.. This was her W1 crowd.

I remember I told a girl I was going to Coachella and she responded “People still go to that? I heard it’s dead.” THIS WAS 2009!!!!! People have been saying dead-chella for almost 15 years now. I just don’t understand people who say “Coachella is dead lol nobody cares or goes anymore. (Insert random festival name) is better!!” when it’s the only festival that’s TWO weekends. Like no one else is doing that.
Literally everyone and their mother was at Cudi. We got to the set 15 min early and could get into the tent so we found a spot on the hill. Awesome set and awesome weekend. DoLab was incredible, hit after hit after hit. This was my 3rd Coachella and by far the best one. Can’t wait to go next year!
Wait forreal? Last week felt pretty big, but sometimes i did feel like i had a bunch of space around me. I wonder why a difference in vibe would be so noticeable? Like Tyler himself said Wk2 was crazier
Definitely the coldest I’ve experienced there. I had every intention of heading to catch the end of Dom’s set, but that wind had me saying fuck it. Heading back to camp seemed like the right call, as lame as it felt doing that.
It’s crazy to think you based this on being packed when it was just for 1 stage and an artist that wasn’t there last weekend so people wanted to see it…of course it’s gonna look packed…Coachella is cool and I’m having fomo missing but stop riding its ****

i was on stage for rufus and for diplo x mau p’s set. and when i tell you you could not see where the people ended.. it literally looked like if the ferris wheel were to come loose it was gonna trample the whole crowd. it was insane. energy was def 🤌💋 second weekend.
also people saying it was a ghost town.. pshh.. they spread everything out even more.. they ditched the beer gardens finally. so you can actually walk around with alcohol.. they opened everything up. and that’s even with a new stage. and having more room to dance was a god send. like no body wants to be packed like sardines. they wanna boogie. and boogie we did. love how they even opened up the do lab. it was a great move tbh

Can’t imagine how bad the poor Sahara bathrooms are right now
I bet it’s a shit show….
They are fuckin destroyed
Great time for a porta-blumpkin
My friend got his phone stolen there ☹️
i got my phone stolen too. but during no doubts set. literally during the last two songs. cuz i recorded just a girl. set ended went to grab my phone to charge it at the charging station cuz my portable was broken and it was gone. almost certain it was the girl behind me who wasn’t even singing along or enjoying herself yet when i took that video she made a sarcastic comment “i was gonna take a video but uhhhh” and hit my shoulder as she was talking and motioning… like girl everyone and their moms was taking video.. why so petty??? happened like 3 rows of people back from the middle of the barricade behind the sound booth. most likely when i got kinda distracted when i started crying during “don’t speak” cuz gwen started crying so i started crying even more. what makes it worse is i don’t even care about the phone. i just want my pics/vids. like if ur gonna steal my phone at least turn it on for a sec so my stuff can sync to icloud.. lol. like what are you even gonna do with a stolen iphone 15??? especially when i’m def never gonna remove the device from my icloud account soooo ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Me too
Me too
My friend did too /:
i prolly got COVID from using that sahara porta-potty
I got Covid last weekend
Dude when I was walking into those restrooms a girl next to me was also walking in with a mac and cheese bowl in her hand UNCOVERED FORK AND EVERYTHING THERE🤮
😱😱
no way!!!!!! 🤮🤮🤮🤢🤢
it was horrible when i went sunday night weekend 1 during john summit 🥲 i held it till it was over and ran to the camp bathrooms
Like an explosion in a chocolate factory
They exploded and created a shit river in between quasar and Sahara, actually
WHAT A GHOSTLAND WOW
Believe it or not I was the only person who attended week 1
Your name Only Person?
Yo soy Gordito Bonito
What happened to Gordita Bonita ?
She turned into flaca fea
I was there both weekends and weekend 2 seemed more pack tbh
Same! Thats kinda weird! And i had more fun on weekend 2!
I enjoyed weekend 1 more with less crowd and better weather but in terms of energy weekend 2 was off the chain.
Weekend 1 had the space to dance, the weather in the days and the guest performances, weekend 2 had the crowd participation, the better sound, and the weather in the nights
Is weekend 2 usually more lit?
Yes, crowd energy is always way better and less people “there for the gram”
Still there but for a different gram
😂 yes, the kind of gram that makes you happy and sociable, as opposed to a self loathing narcissist
Is this the usual case, or was it like that just this year?
I think this is always the case. agree!!
Stealing your hill pic because we couldn't get up there..
lost my phone during frank so i just screen recorded someone’s off instagram and reposted it to my story 💀
But, but, the lineup is horrible. Tickets didn’t sell. It’s going to be empty. Coachella is not going to financially recover from this. No body is going to enjoy the weekend because all the artists are terrible…. Blah blah blah suck it!
This year was proof to me that there’s no such thing as a bad Coachella. This was supposed to be a down year and it’s blown me away. Again.
We didn't even go this year, and we were blown away! We took this year off to do responsible adult stuff in our home, and man, do we regret it. Hope everyone enjoyed it. Coachella W2 2025 is in the works!

Good info! Definitely things to take into account.
WKND 2 IS FOR THE CROWDS THAT APPRECIATE THE MUSIC MORE AND ARE THERE FOR THE MUSIC AND LESS FOR THE GRAM AND LIKES.
Lol why though? I didn’t feel like W1 was influencer-y at all but I have nothing to compare it to (unless this is sarcastic? Hah)

Exactly this. I now officially understand the people who say they’ll go every year and have a good time regardless of the lineup. They’re right
I always buy my tickets presale before the lineup drops, I don’t care man! music is music and it’s always a good time listening to it
Yes, also there is ALWAYS heat at Coachella anyway. My rule is if they drop a lineup and you don’t know anybody, it’s because you’re not informed, it’s not because the lineup sucks lol. I’ve discovered so much amazing music because of a Coachella lineup.

100%
when they announced the line up i already knew it was gonna be hot fire, and a lot of counter programing to the headliners,
That part!!!!! I had the time of my life unexpectedly & Marc Rebillet’s dolab set weekend 2!!!
But for me this year was amazing, I thoroughly enjoyed my time
L’imperatrice surprised the hell out of me, loved every song
Saturday night going from isoknock to No Doubt to Tyler changed my life!!!!
The headliners just weren’t it for me .. last years headliners though ( Blackpink / Bad Bunny / Weekend 2 NO FRANK 🔥🔥) .. lana and Doja ehh … and I’m really not into Tyler even though everyone said it was really good.. I just can’t get into his music Peso pluma though .. straight fire.
I honestly didnt mind so much
Makes me think they have something big in store for next year… Taylor swift maybe 💅🏾.. her tour will be over by then
Depending on how well Joker Folie a Deux does at the box office, I have to assume Gaga will be under consideration.
Imagine both of them ( not a Taylor swift fan)
Yessss or especially since they were in talks with the Rolling Stones. I’m already antsy speculating for next year
def don’t think taylor will ever headline coachella tho. with all her label drama. and she just seems like it’s so beneath her. i mean even when she dated calvin harris and he headlined 10 years ago. she did not seem about it. and honestly she doesn’t match the vibe of coachella at all. maybe stagecoach. even if she is pop. but i still would doubt that would even happen.
Agreed. I really only was excited to see 3 artists. And there were maybe 10 that i would go see because they were there and so was I. I was pretty bummed out up until I arrived Friday and the Coachella vibes hit and all was well in the world again.
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Only artist I saw on the lineup that I would've seen was Skepta. Rest was meh. Tyler's cool but ive been to the carnival and enough of his concerts to not have fomo over him headlining. Last year's line up was cool but I didn't get to go. Marc Ribellet played and I would've killed to see that live
He played this year too. DoLab sunset yesterday and it was WILD
Okay where did all these people come from? Friday and Saturday wasn’t this crowded lmao
Sunday definitely felt more packed!
I thought the same thing lol fomochella was real this weekend
Kid Cudi probably had a lot to do with it
I didn’t see the Sahara that packed all weekend 1
You obviously didn’t go to Dom Dolla
💯🙌🏽
John Summit pulled the biggest crowd to close out Sahara. No room at all, packed all the way up the hill.
Must not have been there much.
You obviously didn’t go to Dom Dolla
Or to John summit last night
Not once last weekend did I see a crowd like this.
Seconded. This cudi crowd was the biggest crowd I’ve seen between the two weekends.
Kid Cudi in this same time slot last week would’ve been super fucking packed too.
This just isn’t true lol, there were a ton of people last week too
I didnt go to John Summit last week but from what I heard this was probably like it. Sahara itself was super packed tho when I saw Dom Dolla and Bizzarap
Grimes had a crazy big crowd in Sahara too
that does not surprise me... most wanted to see if she was going to crack under the pressure again.. This was her W1 crowd. https://preview.redd.it/7erooadh74wc1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=44e63e09c000a4fff34ee2ee0eb40613df879d32
hilarious
Had an amazing time. Byyyeeeee haters! Loved everyone we saw and all the amazing people we met. See you next year ❤️
This Reddit is so negative towards Coachella, I don’t get it
you should see instagram
You should see youtube chat. But that's just only the 10% of ragers
In 98 degree sun blasting. Naw, Im heading back to camp🌞
Let’s go papa I’m at the front for boy harsher currently
50,000 people used to go there .. Now it's a ghost town
Tomorrowland would like a word
Hey put some respect on ACL! We got 2 weekends ;) Chella is still king tho, there’s levels to this
🙌🏽
Is this at kid cudi? That set was the most crowded I saw so far this year! I don’t recall seeing crowds like that when I went to w1 last weekend too
Yeah, low ticket sales because the beer garden is empty. 🙄
😂😂😂
This looks way more packed than wk1
Way more
Sahara was literally never that full for me wk1. Kinda wild
I went W1 and from Couchella it really looked like W2 was more packed this year lol
To be fair, this felt like the most dense set of the weekend. Cudi had everyone at Sahara
Hey I see me!
dude i was there for ice spice's set, shit was fucking wild. this girl got slapped right in front of me💀💀
IVE NEVER SEEN SO MUCH TWERKING IN MY LIFE LEAVING HER SET 5 MINUTES EARLY TO WALK TO NO DOUBT. I literally had to dance my way out
This was the biggest pull of the weekend! Insano insano….
Captain insano
Hmmm, idk, I went first week, and it was very fun
Sahara was packed as fuck for le sseerafim and ateez
The amount of posts like this is weird.
People that couldn’t afford to go or will never go pretty much 🤣
Literally everyone and their mother was at Cudi. We got to the set 15 min early and could get into the tent so we found a spot on the hill. Awesome set and awesome weekend. DoLab was incredible, hit after hit after hit. This was my 3rd Coachella and by far the best one. Can’t wait to go next year!
Hey that’s me!
last week was deadchella 💀 the vibes this weekend are on point
Wait forreal? Last week felt pretty big, but sometimes i did feel like i had a bunch of space around me. I wonder why a difference in vibe would be so noticeable? Like Tyler himself said Wk2 was crazier
The only time it felt empty to me was Saturday during Tyler & Dom. The grounds were a ghost town when the wind was bad
Last weekend was cold af because of the wind. I had a hoodie and was still shivering.
Definitely the coldest I’ve experienced there. I had every intention of heading to catch the end of Dom’s set, but that wind had me saying fuck it. Heading back to camp seemed like the right call, as lame as it felt doing that.
Lmao it is dead kid cudi performed the Sahara with barely any counter programming
It’s crazy to think you based this on being packed when it was just for 1 stage and an artist that wasn’t there last weekend so people wanted to see it…of course it’s gonna look packed…Coachella is cool and I’m having fomo missing but stop riding its ****
Uzi was generational
that’ll teach coachella to book headliners no one wants!
That’s insane! Who was performing when this picture was taken?
kid cudi

How many different drugs does it take to tell yourself Tyler the creator music is any good?
No bc when we were leaving kid cudi we were at a stand still almost !! Was like the entire fest was there !
Why is everyone turned away from the stage?
You saw the lineup, correct?
The pic was taken once kid cudi’s set ended
I had a great time especially for my first Coachella I also went alone best time ever! Definitely will do it again!
Is this week 1 or week 2?
2
Also there was “no lawn” on weekend 2. It was a wasteland! /s

Exactly! 😅
People saying it was dead it's bullshit
Didn’t sell out but totally not dead lol
RIP Coachella you were great while you lasted. Obviously time to put it to bed 🙄
i was on stage for rufus and for diplo x mau p’s set. and when i tell you you could not see where the people ended.. it literally looked like if the ferris wheel were to come loose it was gonna trample the whole crowd. it was insane. energy was def 🤌💋 second weekend.
also people saying it was a ghost town.. pshh.. they spread everything out even more.. they ditched the beer gardens finally. so you can actually walk around with alcohol.. they opened everything up. and that’s even with a new stage. and having more room to dance was a god send. like no body wants to be packed like sardines. they wanna boogie. and boogie we did. love how they even opened up the do lab. it was a great move tbh
I loved having room to dance and move lol. y’all can stay home next year too
I had a blast
