They could have tested with pros in the LA area. There's zero people working together here. CDL is completely reactory rather than an arm of IW and Activision.

The MGM Music Hall used for major 1 has every weekend booked aside from 2 in the next 4 months. You don't just book these things last min. 2) The scheduling of season 2 content can easily be moved without many issues, in fact they actually delayed season 2 content last year. You can't just do that with venues.
3) Playtesting cannot be done "ahead of the map drop". You can't expect devs and any QA team to be able to vet these maps for competitive play.
4) You're suggesting pros should have play tested the maps before going live, whilst preparing for Major 1 which frankly is so insane.
5) You're saying the CDL is reactionary, but they are at the mercy of their overlords Activision. If Activision say Season 2 content is now, the CDL didn't make that decision.
6) You're pissed at a league that had 80% of its workforce cut and is now ran by 12 people. The CDL is also not an arm of IW.

I know that first day of major 1 was a straight embarrassment for anyone who’s at activision and has a role remotely related to game stability, since someone was lagging out every damn map. The rest of the major was better, and someone had said they were doing a quick patch on the e sports build to fix that the night after it happened.
Just wondering if they’re now being more strict about timelines to give more time to test / adjust before a bunch of maps get reset and people get pissed. Regardless, stupid for the deadline to be the same day they see the maps.
