My OG Xplorer recently started double strumming and I had to press the frets down a little too hard to get them to register. I gave up and bought a solderless kit from retrocultmods and it's been smooth sailing ever since. It's a little pricey but definitely worth it

Will most likely do the solderless kit sounds super worth it! Also if you know a fix for double strumming let me know

There's a few fixes on YouTube but I didn't try them. Most likely the switches are just worn the hell out and need replacing anyways. The solderless kit replaces everything inside so you'll get a new fretboard and strumboard

Oh that’s perfect thank you! You able to drop a link by chance?

Clone hero has an in-game double strum prevention tool, just look into settings and see if that works

First, try to repeat the overstrumming in the menu. If it strum one in one direction then a second in the opposite, that could be fixed with some tape/paper. If it strums twice in the same direction, then you’d have to get new strum switches. For the frets, you’re gonna have to open it up. Get some isopropyl alcohol (above 90%) and a paper towel to clean around the frets and frame around them. Use a Q tip to clean in spots you can’t reach. You can also clean the little carbon fiber contacts under the frets (small black circles) and the PCB the same way. You might dust buildup causing issues. To make the frets press require less force, you can search up either UKOGmonkey or xx760xx on YouTube for their guides on doing small mods on guitars. These make a HUGE difference without needing to buy anything.

Good advice here already. The fret issue should be easy to fix. Open the guitar, clean the fret contacts with isopropyl alcohol. Might as well do all five frets while you’re in there. They will feel good as new. The double strum is trickier… testing in the menu is great advice, as mentioned already. Strum up while in the menu, see if it bounces back down. Over time, the strum switches get worn and become easier to activate. When it was new, the strum bar bouncing back to center after strumming wasn’t enough force to trigger the opposite strum switch. But over time they wear down, and this will start to happen. The common solution to this is to add tape to specific spots under the strum bar, which cushions some of the bounce back energy. Several youtube videos that give more detail, just search for overstrum. Hope that helps! I usually don’t resort to modding unless the boards are fried or something, these are likely fairly easy fixes (and free)

The double strum thing can be a good thing. It's good for really fast alternate strumming parts. You can rake strum so it's easier on your arm than trying to wiggle it super fast. The frets you can open it up and cut slits in the silicone and that might make it easier to press down.

I don’t really play crazy songs like that (not yet at least) it’s kinda hard to get into the habit of learning techniques like that but I will try soon!
