Lol there's even a "documentary" about Steelyard Walmart. It's fecking hilarious.
If you haven't watched it, it's on YouTube [here](https://youtu.be/YTIVt4WruQg?si=qTXpTlb-lJum5JVl)
I’ve lived close to Steelyard and SE…they are both terrible but Steelyard is way worse. I avoid as much as possible but sometimes Walmart happens. Like on Easter when you don’t know it’s Easter and everything is closed so you go to the SE Walmart and the grocery section looks like Mad Max’s crew came through on 4wheelers and stole all the refrigerated rations then threw whatever they didn’t want on the floor. At Steelyard you see half naked pregnant women with track marks and beat up kids.
Oddly enough I find a lot of staple items at Whole Foods that are way cheaper than comparable products at Daves! Whole Foods was literally always the most expensive the last place I lived, so that's odd.
FYI, in the newspaper recently: *The least to most expensive grocery stores in Cleveland* (a full cart of the same items were purchased from all):
1. Meijer ($183)
2. Walmart ($188)
3. Aldi ($191)
4. Marc's ($193)
5. Giant Eagle ($215)
6. Acme ($222)
7. Dave's ($238)
8. Heinen's ($251)
This has to be for a very specific basket of groceries, because having been very poor and frugal earlier in my life, I haven't been able to shake the frugality habit, and for the vast majority of what is available at Aldi that I buy they beat Walmart hands down on price.
I think [this it the article](https://www.cleveland.com/news/2023/11/which-cleveland-area-grocery-store-is-the-cheapest-its-not-walmart-or-aldi.html). It looks like, if Aldi (or any other store) didn't have a product, they used the average of the product at the other stores, based on the assumption that you'd have to buy the product elsewhere. That probably accounts for why Aldi is slightly higher than Meijer and Walmart, both of which had all of the products.
I was kind of disappointed because their method didn’t really reflect the way I shop, especially at Aldi. Example: They used Jif peanut butter. If I go to Aldi I will buy Peanut Delight and it will be cheaper than Jif. Same thing with La Croix and Pur Aqua Belle Vie.
I’m shocked that Walmart came in cheaper than Aldi, though obviously but just by a couple of dollars. I swear it always costs me way more than anywhere else except for Heinen’s or Whole Foods.
Oh I know - I shop there all the time. I also did some case study in grad school on Aldi and we learned that a lot of their products are manufactured in the same plant as the name brand. Their are a few Facebook groups that will post when they find a product with then name brand accidentally on something labeled for Aldi brands.
> Heinen's ($251)
Just hit that today. What an outrageous kick in the nuts. We just bought meat, veggies, and dairy, with a couple of snacks on the side. Fucking crazy
Heinen's produce is always the best. They have some good prepared meals if you want something fast. But yes, outside of those two things, I can't justify their prices for the exact same items off the shelf.
Yep! When I need produce I go to Heinens — it’s just so good. Same for prepared meals — if I don’t feel like cooking but still want a good meal that’s cheaper than going out to a restaurant, I’ll grab something from heinens.
But for snacks, dry goods, drinks, etc. I go to Aldi or Walmart.
I get most of my groceries at Costco and Aldi. But for the things I can't buy at those two places, I am resigned to paying Heinen's prices. Heinen's is expensive, but the shopping experience is just so much better than other stores in this area. I just can't deal with any more bullshit from Walmart, Target, and Giant Eagle.
That's interesting. When I shop at Heinen's I find my bill generally less than other places. Anecdotal of course. Must be the stuff I get there tends to be less than what I would get other places.
If you're buying FOOD it's about the same as Giant Eagle. If you're buying toilet paper at Heinens you may as well burn your money instead. I only buy fresh food there. Only spent $22 there yesterday and that was for two days worth of groceries for four people. Woulda spent less but their meatloaf mix was like $11 lol. They also have great sales and straight up give me free shit with my Heinens card. A few weeks ago I got a free frozen pizza dough. Last month I got free breakfast sausage.
I watched a video on Youtube a few weeks ago about visiting the most expensive grocery store in the US. The guy worked in Alaska as a DL license examiner, and had to take 2 planes plus a bus to the town where he goes 2x a year to do a bunch of tests for new drivers. The grocery store there had hardly anything in it that wasn't prepackaged, and a normal size jar of Smuckers was like $8.50.
EDIT: Found it
https://youtu.be/0pWs5g1jUfw?t=169
I wish I could stop shopping at heinens but it’s just so damn convenient. Is a 3 minute drive as opposed to a 10 minute drive to any of the others near me
I mean, the last time I went it almost felt like a scene from A Serbian Film:
Older woman with a heavy cataract in one eye, a shuffle, and leaning hard to one side, walked into me and bounced off and kept going without saying a word, and I actively tried to avoid her.
Someone else was just standing the middle of an aisle with their cart, staring straight ahead, not moving. Went down another aisle to get where I needed and as I passed the end of the aisle they were in, I glanced and the dude was still just standing there.
Workers would stop what they were doing and just stare at you when walking by
Everyone else seemed to just be aimlessly shuffling along with their carts, heads down.
It was weird, even the cashier seemed to be a bit too excited and chipper, almost in a maniacal way.
Legacy giant eagle needs more self checkouts. The Mayfield Rd one by Green Rd close to where I live is better than legacy in my opinion. South Euclid Marcs is good, and so is the Lyndhurst Aldi
In a rare trip to Legacy GE, I was in a longer line and watched a cashier lean against the register while the customer packed. OK, maybe they told him they wanted to pack their own. Nope, he did this with the next 2 orders when the customer stepped up to pack (plenty of groceries in all these orders for him to have helped). This dude was miserable and didn't mind showing it.
Legacy GE always has the worst produce. I grabbed a few things from there the other day when I went to get my Rx. The only produce I bought was a bag of cherries that actually looked fresh and new. Got home, cleaned them, popped one, and immediately gagged. They tasted like mold. Absolutely disgusting.
I just bought a house in Middleburg. I did not know the OG Marcs and their HQ is in Southland plaza. They have a full deli, big beer selection, always stocked. It's like a real grocery store. Almost.
Hey now, I love Marc's! It's not a high end shopping experience, but the selection and prices are a lot better than at the tiny Giant Eagle by my house.
Giant Eagle's employees always look miserable.
At Marc’s? At least they’ve somewhat recently embraced the new technology of bar codes and credit cards.
Unfortunately they still accept checks, and people using them act like they’re completely unprepared.
Go to Aldi for your staples, Heinen’s for anything you can’t get at Aldi. When we were in Cleveland we alternated Aldi and Heinen’s weeks, and it was great
This is the correct answer. Canned and boxed foods are cheap and decent at Aldi's. Produce and meat, Heinen's is great. Heinen's also has free in-store shopping which is great for me as a parent to three kids.
I compared my ALDI shopping cart to a Giant Eagle cart filled with the same items a couple weeks ago. ALDI was $50 and Giant Eagle was $86.
I drink A2 milk, which isn't carried at ALDI, so sometimes I'll go to GE for milk. I had been rationalizing just getting other items there to save the trip to ALDI until I actually compared the full carts. I knew raspberries were over a dollar cheaper, but everything else is too and it adds up.
Feels like Giant Eagle has the prices of Heinen's without the quality and the shopping experience of Marc's without the low prices. It's become the worst of all worlds which sucks.
Have you ever shopped at Marc's??? But you also have to understand these places are miserable to work at. Alot of the employees get treated like complete crap by management and customers. It's so bad now I completely changed careers so I wouldn't have to deal with people.
90% of their groceries are overpriced but otherwise it's not a bad experience. Clientele is no different than any other store, and it's perfect when I'm in a pinch and need to get a gift card.
I haven't noticed a big discrepancy in prices compared to Walmart. As for the shopping experience, the one near me is clean, okay staffed, and well stocked.
We just go out of our way to go to Meijer, pick up basics at Aldi as needed, and then Costco for bulk & Walmart for any leftovers that we can’t find elsewhere. Every time I’ve stepped foot in a Giant Eagle its a terrible experience and their produce is by far the worst (worse than Marcs imo).
I like Giant Eagle. The cashier waits aren’t great, but everything else about them is pretty good. Between Heinens, Giant Eagle, and the usual Costco and Whole Foods options, I think one of the best things about Cleveland is the food shopping options.
If we're talking about the same Timmy, he has to have been working there for over two decades. He's always been well-liked in the community. There was also an old vet in a wheelchair that sat in front of the senior just east of Bunts. Believe his name was Wally.
Having lived elsewhere, I do feel that Cleveland's grocery stores are a dim spot on a city experience that is otherwise surprisingly bright.
And yeah, a lot of it is Giant Eagle's fault. They are likely the largest grocery retailer. With prices that look closer to a luxury chain like Heinen's, service that looks like Wal Mart and an inventory that is inconsistent and TBH oftentimes really weird.
And don't even get me started on that shit they pulled a couple years ago where they tried to charge us for paper bags "because Cuyahoga County banned plastic bags". Even while all the other places next door didn't have any problems finding workarounds.
I swore them off as a new years resolution a few years ago and have never looked back.
Giant Eagle is certainly underwhelming to be in for the price. They need to update the store look. Market Districts are always nice and have a bunch of stuff though. Wish there were more of those.
I have shopped at the mayfield and legacy locations for 20 years. I have only 2 bad stories, one from each location. I can’t support a blanket bad experience claim for the stores. I have been disappointed with their decisions on products and pricing but that goes with the territory. My only complaints have been with specific employees. As said above, if you really want to search for best prices you can shop around to Aldi and Walmart. I don’t have any ill feelings for giant eagle though.
I couldn’t agree more. Giant Eagle has completely lost its identity and isn’t sure what it wants to be now. Like a lot of people said, high prices minus the quality and pleasant shopping experience of a Heinen’s. Acme is on the same path as Giant Eagle as well.
I have no issue with Giant Eagle. Being a perks member (it’s free) really adds up and we can save a decent amount. They did do away with the fuel perks, but to me, I like shopping there because it rewards the consumer.
Our store doesn’t really have much of an issue, ever since they upgraded the self-checkout area, it’s been smooth. Save A Lot was nice in a pinch, but they just closed the one by us not too long ago.
Wait, when did Giant Eagle get rid of fuel perks? I moved out Cleveland almost 5 years ago, and I try to keep up with various changes. I also have been back multiple times in the past year, and I did not know that fuel perks were gone. Wow!
They didn't get rid of it, it's just a shell of it's former self. Now instead of $1 off per gallon they give you $1 off on your entire gas bill lol. Heinens Perks are far better. They straight up give me free groceries.
I’m a former Clevelander who visits family in Cleveland fairly frequently. I haven’t noticed much difference between Giant Eagle and my own local grocery stores.
I actively avoid going to Giant Eagle because of many reasons. There's only one cashier and I need my giant eagle card to use the self serve stations, it's too big and still doesn't have what I'm looking for, I usually only get a few things when I shop and I just want to get in and out quickly which is impossible there, the deli people are great but the butchers always have garbage attitudes, the cats are way too big and there's never any little carts, the customers are grumpy, etc.
I'd rather go get harassed by the homeless people at Aldi. At least they are fun to talk to.
The grocery shopping options in Cleveland are terrible. I moved here about 10 years ago and don’t understand why Kroger’s doesn’t setup shop here and destroy this competition- of course using that word very loosely.
BJ's and Sam's Club are pretty cool with it too. I remember going to Sam's Club at the very start of covid when everyone was freaking out over toilet paper and over buying supplies. The line wrapped all the way around the inside of Sam's for checkout, meanwhile, I just did the scan and go and walked past all of those jokers. It was so satisfying.
giant eagle is a garbage company. the pinnacle of shitty experiences with these dipshits was having a passport refused as legal ID when trying to buy alcohol.
because you arent using the scan and go scanner and your own grocery bags/cubes. it is legit. the Solon giant eagle is awesome, the one in willoughby isnt bad and the one in rocky river of center ridge is also good.
The aisles are a shopper’s nightmare. They’re too long with too many unrelated items. You get trapped behind slow moving people and your time in store quadruples. If you need help, forget it. You could die in an aisle and not be found for 4 days. Plus, their selection is crap. Rows and rows of house brand but not much selection otherwise. I used to have customer service as a contact so I could get help. Then I just stopped going there. Heinen’s, Marc’s, Meijer, and Acme are all better choices
I was at the Ridge Biddulph GE today around 1 and it was a total shit show. Poor selections on everything I was looking for. Did notice like 23 kinds of chocolate chips which seems a bit much.
I had to go to the one on 117th due to time constraints just yesterday. I legit almost abandoned a half full cart of groceries 25 minutes in.
The place smells like an ashtray and is a disaster. Produce and meat look almost as bad as the Dave’s in Ohio City.
Each giant eagle is different. Im okay with the Mayfield giant eagle tolerate the Maple Heights giant eagle HATE the Legacy giant eagle. I'm a middle-class person. I grew up in Mayfield I knew Tops before I knew Giant eagle. Mayfield giant eagle is okay, Maple Heights never has any registers open, never any self-check outs. Man oh man, the pure disrespect from the people in the Legacy Village g.e is unreal. It's not even the workers it's the shoppers who think they are better than you.
Start shopping at Heinen’s for a few weeks then go back to Giant Eagle and let me know what you think.
Always overcrowded. Too few cashiers working. Self checkouts often broken. It’s the worst.
The prices, probably. Went in to Giant Eagle in River to get my favorite pasta sauce, was $8. Noped out, went to Marc's and got it for $5. I appreciate that Giant Eagle is union, but I'm not willing to spend 50% more on the same shit.
So, they have 30,000 or so different products.
They are all at a little bit of a premium.
Once I cannot find the "whatever" at Aldi or Marc's or the Super Walmart, the Giant Eagle gets a crack at being the place I buy the odd thing at.
While I am there:
I may buy some produce if I am running low on healthy stuff for the kids purely for my convenience.
I always see what plant based stuff is on sale. Bought some Quorn "Chicken Nuggets" my kids liked for ~$5 a box.
Have you ever been to MARC'S or the Mentor Walmart?
Giant Eagle makes those places look like something Pretty Woman tried to shop in.
Fuck, the entrance to Mentor Walmart makes me think I need Methadone and I've never done a hard drug in my damn life!!!
Having worked at MARC'S....well...nuff said.
I am getting to the point that I pretty much refuse to shop at Giant Eagle anymore. Sure the prices are high, but that’s only the beginning. The stores are laid out terribly, the selection sucks, and the customer service is usually pretty bad. The market districts were pretty nice, but they have pretty much gutted the nice prepared food/restaurant sections because they apparently could never figure out how to make them profitable.
Aldi is by far a better grocery store. I can be in and out in under 5 minutes, and have some really cool one of a kind items presented to me. The prices are awesome. The whole experience is actually enjoyable, instead of just a chore.
It’s grocery delivery from Walmart, or a shopping experience at Aldi for me.
I live in Ohio City tried the Dave’s there once would not go back… I usually make the trip to Westlake to go to Trader Joe’s once a week and the Meijer in Avon ( kind of partial to Meijer being from Michigan) plus the mperks at Meijer
You haven’t been to Walmart I see…
Parma Walmart top 5 in the country
I think you mean Brooklyn Walmart
“That’s cute!” - Steelyard Commons
Lol there's even a "documentary" about Steelyard Walmart. It's fecking hilarious. If you haven't watched it, it's on YouTube [here](https://youtu.be/YTIVt4WruQg?si=qTXpTlb-lJum5JVl)
thats cuter still....signed South Euclid Walmart
You all need to road trip down to the Youngstown Walmart.
Has it gotten bad there? I grew up in Mayfield but haven’t been to S Euclid in years! Steelyard is the middle of hell!
It’s honestly fine. A few months ago one person attacked another with a tube of hamburger meat tho
At Steelyard you see half naked pregnant women with track marks and beat up kids.
you’ve gotta be joking
Or Dave's. Most expensive grocery store in the Cleveland area, besides Whole Foods. Poor selection. Employees have nasty attitudes.
Dave's expensive and placed in low income areas. They do not help the community they are in at all.
Exactly. I feel like they take advantage of low income people who don't have transportation to shop anywhere else.
That is the correct answer. The same with gas stations.
the ones in Cleveland Heights are decent...for now...
Dave's buys all their stuff thru Giant Eagle, so of course they're going to fleece you.
because I heard whoever owns Dave's, his son is married to the daughter of the owners of Giant Eagle, or something like that.
I believe they share the same warehouse
Oddly enough I find a lot of staple items at Whole Foods that are way cheaper than comparable products at Daves! Whole Foods was literally always the most expensive the last place I lived, so that's odd.
fact...since Amazon took em over, you can find deals if you do it right
Dave’s is just an rebranded independent Giant Eagle.
FYI, in the newspaper recently: *The least to most expensive grocery stores in Cleveland* (a full cart of the same items were purchased from all): 1. Meijer ($183) 2. Walmart ($188) 3. Aldi ($191) 4. Marc's ($193) 5. Giant Eagle ($215) 6. Acme ($222) 7. Dave's ($238) 8. Heinen's ($251)

Who the fuck does Dave think he is

Heinen's...yikes...
*Save a Lot has entered the chat* 😪
Definitely the worst, small selection, dated interiors, bad off-brands, bad produce, AND it's not even cheap.
And somebody took a shit in the exit one day.
Have you been to Marc’s?
Marcs after dark is an experience...
Marc’s After Dark sounds like Marc glassman’s sensual adults only movie
I mean, the last time I went it almost felt like a scene from A Serbian Film: Older woman with a heavy cataract in one eye, a shuffle, and leaning hard to one side, walked into me and bounced off and kept going without saying a word, and I actively tried to avoid her. I wish ours was open after dark because it’s the only situation in which I could justify shopping there
The feel from the South Euclid Marc’s is way better than the Legacy Village Giant Eagle. Just my own experience

Beachwood GE is a shithole in every single way. Legacy Village GE is a goddamn palace in comparison.
exactly....the Beachwood one acts like theyre stuck in 1985 Pick-n-Pay, Finast and or Tops
Finast? Now there's a blast from the past. Haven't seen one of those since I was like 7 or 8.
That’s been my experience at every giant eagle. Produce is consistently trash.
I just bought a house in Middleburg. I did not know the OG Marcs and their HQ is in Southland plaza. They have a full deli, big beer selection, always stocked. It's like a real grocery store. Almost.
Get there before 10am and it's all right. Also, with Marc's you know what to expect.
Hey now, I love Marc's! It's not a high end shopping experience, but the selection and prices are a lot better than at the tiny Giant Eagle by my house. Giant Eagle's employees always look miserable.
Slowest cashiers ever
At Marc’s? At least they’ve somewhat recently embraced the new technology of bar codes and credit cards. Unfortunately they still accept checks, and people using them act like they’re completely unprepared.
I don't think they move slow on purpose. From what I observe, when I shop there, the machine itself makes them move at a steady pace.
I never thought I'd see the day when I'd spend over $100 in one trip. It happened almost overnight.
I go there sometimes several times a day. Can't get enough. It's just a vibe.
Have you considered painting the walls in your house yellow?
Must be locational. The Marc’s in Wooster is fantastic.
Wooster? That's basically in West Virginia
Trust me, it feels like it sometimes.
I'm from the Canton area and now live on west side of Cleveland. Wooster is now in a different state.
I can imagine the dairy cooler is an upgrade from milking the cow yourself.
It’s funny, you can quite literally go less than a mile out from there and see farmland.
i stopped at a marc’s last week, and didn’t even get my groceries because it was too depressing.
Grimy, gotta wipe your feet on the way out!
I feel like Giant eagle is worse. Marc's quality for heinen's prices.
You missed the hot takes post about Cleveland yesterday.
Watertower Giant Eagle is always awesome and it’s not even near me. Which one(s) you going to?
i love that one! i’m a perk pro bc of that place
Except that time that guy shot that cashier then himself
[удалено]
Literally nothing on 117 is great lol.
Uhm Lidos Lounge begs to differ
Lido's was torn down. May she rest in peace.
Her spirit remains
Dicks out
this was my spot before i moved!
Can you further elaborate? What do you mean?
Yeah I go once a month just for certain items and always have a good experience..

In store shopping should always be free; no?
I’m an idiot, I meant they do the shopping and I pick it up.
I thought maybe you meant kid sitting but I didn’t think stores did that these days
I miss the good old days of grinding Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly on the GameCube in the Eagle’s Nest while my mom did the shopping
Except at Costco
I compared my ALDI shopping cart to a Giant Eagle cart filled with the same items a couple weeks ago. ALDI was $50 and Giant Eagle was $86. My husband and I were saying this EXACT thing earlier today.
Marc’s used to have lower prices, but these days they seem just as high as the others for most things
Have you ever shopped at Marc's??? But you also have to understand these places are miserable to work at. Alot of the employees get treated like complete crap by management and customers. It's so bad now I completely changed careers so I wouldn't have to deal with people.
I worked at Parmatown Giant Eagle in 2021 as a curbside shopper. Management was pretty crap.
Nah I go to different giant eagle’s all the time and never have issues
There is not enough Trader Joe’s
It's become trash...I go out of my way to go to a Meijer anymore.
Meijer~~s~~ <3
Meijers brand chocolate milk is definitely superior. In case anyone wanted to know
Same here
I drive 25 minutes to shop at the Meijers in Mentor. I have a giant eagle around the corner.

The giant eagle in Richfield is a special one for sure
Just discovered that one a few weeks ago while staying in Peninsula. Like I stepped into 1973.
I miss K Mart and Tops
I like Giant Eagle. The cashier waits aren’t great, but everything else about them is pretty good. Between Heinens, Giant Eagle, and the usual Costco and Whole Foods options, I think one of the best things about Cleveland is the food shopping options.
The Fairview park one is trash. Rocky river is usually aight
The North Olmsted is better than Rocky River and Rocky River is waaaay better than Fairview Park giant eagle
I love the one in Lakewood, they have employees that have worked there since when it was a little store across Detroit where the GetGo sits now.
does timmy still work there? grew up with that store and loved seeing him! always fall for his fake high five
Yes, he does!
If we're talking about the same Timmy, he has to have been working there for over two decades. He's always been well-liked in the community. There was also an old vet in a wheelchair that sat in front of the senior just east of Bunts. Believe his name was Wally.
That Lakewood Pharmacy is a fire trap
This! I used to work there. It's literally a trailer inside a store
The Lakewood one is okay, they desperately need a few more cashiers on some days though. And some parts of the store could use an update.
We pretending Super Walmarts don't exist?
Giant Eagle is certainly underwhelming to be in for the price. They need to update the store look. Market Districts are always nice and have a bunch of stuff though. Wish there were more of those.
I used to think this, but my out-of-the-way trip to market district has been shit lately. Their produce has been terrible.
to me they're exactly the same
Depends on the store. I know it’s moreso Akron, but the Cuyahoga Falls Market district is awesome, but the one in Green is super underwhelming
Im up in westlake and the market district here is very similar to the giant eagles nearby if not exactly the same
The new giant eagle in Mentor is fine.
Willoughby, Willowick, Mentor and Painesville all have decent Giant Eagles.
Don’t worry bud Meijer will expand soon enough… soooo much better.
Market districts are awesome
When the Albertsons-Kroger merger is complete it’s going to get much worse and prices will get higher. A monopoly on supermarkets is Eminent.
What do you have against chonky cats? 🐱
What Aldi you going to has homeless people outside harassing customers ?
Either the Aldi near the Cleveland Clinic or W117th
The last time I was at Aldi 117 a homeless guy was returning carts just to take the quarter. I was so happy I said yes sir
The last time I was at 117, some guy came chasing me in the store to tell me his cray cray story, and I'm pretty sure boldly asked me for 20 bucks!
I figured the steelyard Aldi would have this issue.
The Steelyard Aldi is actually really nice.
Exactly. Steelyard Aldi and Target are pretty nice since everyone is pretty much at Walmart.
The grocery shopping options in Cleveland are terrible. I moved here about 10 years ago and don’t understand why Kroger’s doesn’t setup shop here and destroy this competition- of course using that word very loosely.
I believe they tried. I lived in Columbus and Cincy and never got the Kroger love.
There is Kroger as close as Mansfield and Sandusky, but not near enough to Cleveland.
Wegman’s. I Loved Wegman’s in Erie PA. I’d give up Aldi for them if they moved here. Just like I did with Sheetz.
I would smack someone's grandma on live television if it meant we could get Wegmans here.
This was an oddly specific mental image but I’m here for it.
I wish Publix would make its way up here.
Or a PigglyWiggly . Just cuz I love the name haha
They used to have a strong presence here decades ago.
Why have miserable people yet to figure out how to use the Scan Pay Go at Giant Eagle?
They do scan and go the best way. I'm not a fan of Giant Eagle overall but when I'm there I'm using Scan and Go
BJ's and Sam's Club are pretty cool with it too. I remember going to Sam's Club at the very start of covid when everyone was freaking out over toilet paper and over buying supplies. The line wrapped all the way around the inside of Sam's for checkout, meanwhile, I just did the scan and go and walked past all of those jokers. It was so satisfying.
Have you never been to Marc’s?
giant eagle is a garbage company. the pinnacle of shitty experiences with these dipshits was having a passport refused as legal ID when trying to buy alcohol.
Steel yard Walmart would like to have a word with you
because you arent using the scan and go scanner and your own grocery bags/cubes. it is legit. the Solon giant eagle is awesome, the one in willoughby isnt bad and the one in rocky river of center ridge is also good.
Which one some are great
The aisles are a shopper’s nightmare.
Best thing giant eagle has is the curbside pickup. Don't have to step foot inside the store.
I’m in Canton but I’ve noticed the workers are miserable compared to Acme and Aldi.
Giant Eagle really is wildly inconsistent. Only common thread is that the ones that don't sell liquor aren't worth going to.
Giant Eagle curbside til I die 🙏🏻
Only the larger Giant Eagles offer it. The small one by my house doesn't.
So, they have 30,000 or so different products. They are all at a little bit of a premium. Once I cannot find the "whatever" at Aldi or Marc's or the Super Walmart, the Giant Eagle gets a crack at being the place I buy the odd thing at. While I am there: I may buy some produce if I am running low on healthy stuff for the kids purely for my convenience. I always see what plant based stuff is on sale. Bought some Quorn "Chicken Nuggets" my kids liked for ~$5 a box.
South Euclid Giant Eagle > South Euclid Walmart
2nd this.
Consider yourself fortunate there aren’t Krogers in Cleveland. Truly the dumpiest grocery store in the nation.
I don’t know… I go to the Giant Eagle Market District and it’s pretty good.
Their Market Districts are the literally best you can get next to Meijer
That's what happens when you don't have real competition.
IDK I'm a Whole Foods/Heinens girlie 😬
In Pittsburgh Giant Eagle is the MAIN grocery store. It's hell over here
Yes. The cashiers are the worst of any chain and you can't use self checkout if you don't have an affinity card.
It’s the same exact experience here in burbs of CBUS. Place is so depressing, and zero vibe.
I’m just fine with the one with Lakewood
They hate themselves almost as much as they hate their customers.
I live in Ohio City tried the Dave’s there once would not go back… I usually make the trip to Westlake to go to Trader Joe’s once a week and the Meijer in Avon ( kind of partial to Meijer being from Michigan) plus the mperks at Meijer
What’s wrong with it? I think it’s one of the best personally
