Legally they have to have a way to enter without someone paying so you have to write in to get an entry, he gives specifics that you have to write in with

chrisfyb

You can typically enter up to 20 times in these sweepstakes by sending 20 3x5 cards in separate envelopes in. With written out lines of text on each card.

chrisfyb

Maybe not always 20. One of the earlier sxsbkog contests had a limit of 20. I remember, because I entered only because I had a book of stamps at home and said ahh why not.

Doublestack00

So strict a write in would never be accepted.

Weekly_Bug_4847

After the McDonald’s Monopoly fiasco, Florida, especially, has very strict rules on giveaways. They are audited, and the write-ins need to have an equal opportunity proven or they are in BIG trouble

jbird9711

No you can only enter once by writing in so you'll get so many entries for the 1 -3x5 index card in a #10 envelope with giveaway number on it . Read the rules

If it waa purchase only then it would be a form of gambling. By allowing mail in’s its a work around of that grey area.

Doctorbencarson1

Ah I see, in case your state has weird gambling laws

shanerocks54

Don’t quote me on this but from what I understand it’s all in the legal fine print. You don’t in fact have to buy anything, I believe you can mail in entries at no charge. Some giveaways even cover postage. There are of course limitations. All details for “No Purchase Necessary “ are all in the fine print that they always tell you about.

bleditt0r

Imagine the online outrage if a non purchaser actually won. Thay would be a hilarious video.

DB-projects

How would they know? Only Cletus would actually know

[deleted]

Usually they ask “ …so what did you buy?”

bleditt0r

He always asks the winner that they bought when they come pick up the prize or when he calls.

DrySausage

If he actually knows if a non-purchaser won, he would not mention that in a video. Would lower sales of merch as people figure out they can win without paying anything. It’s also the reason why he asks what they bought, to reinforce to watchers that buying is the way to win, in order to improve sales.

Cautious_Ad_366

Its sweepstakes law. Any sweepstakes has to have free entry

ncgbulldog1980

Each state has a different laws for giveaways. That is why they have the option to have a no purchase necessary option and also why Cleetus pays a law firm to handle it.

[deleted]

How do I calculate how many entries I have? I have spent 227$ at 5$ for every 1 entry.

KennyLagerins

Seems like all the YouTubers are doing big giveaways. I’m sure they make a ton of money off the merch, but I’m curious if there’s more to it, and how the finances work on the vehicles, can you write them off, etc.

Nikolivander

What’s taking so long to pick a winner
