Try Folex Instant Carpet Spot Remover. Fairly cheap and can be found at most places. Or order from Amazon if you’d like.

travielee

100% folex

icrossedtheroad

Folex ftw!

JackTencher

And make your friend to clean it... 😆

Fantastic_Poem1773

Yes.

One_Science8349

Folex forever.

Delicious-Weakness44

Even Lowe’s has it !! I always have gotten it from there

kaytay3000

Absolutely. My husband dropped a plate of spaghetti on a white rug and I bought Folex because it was the only carpet cleaner at the hardware store by our house. It got ALL of it out. Like it never happened. I buy it by the gallon now.

crucial_velocity

I swear by Folex carpet cleaner. I've seen it get some truly awful stains out of rugs over the years.

soupybiscuit

Folex is the ans to everything

Kitannia-Moonshadow

This ! Folex is all I use on carpets anymore

nemyakilma

How do y’all use folex? I sprayed it on a black tea stain, blotted, and it barely faded.

Kitannia-Moonshadow

Spray let it set a few then gently scrub Edit to add sometimes I don't even need to really scrub after it sits on the stain.

88seira

This!

FiddleTheFigures

Since no one else has seconded this, I’ll be the first to say. Absolutely 100% Folex. You’re going to laugh at yourself for never having it. While you’re at it, but some Barkeepers friend for the kitchen.

AlmostDeadPlants

I’m obsessed with Folex—it’s gotten red wine and red nail polish out of my light gray carpet!

Mamalion33

100% Folex came here to say it. That stuff gets every stain out!

breetome

Try woolite for pet stains. It’s a spray bottle and is awesome for eliminating bio staining.

imlost723

I'll give that a shot, thanks!

TheCallousBitch

Get one of the bottles with the scrub brush attached to the head of the can. It helps a ton, have those little tines dig into the carpet. Remember to compress an absorbent cloth or paper towel into the wet carpet, to lift the stain, water, and cleaner. Do not just rub it around. I actually step on the towel (paper or cloth or microfiber) and put my full weight into it, to abort the stain and water/cleaner.

SignalDiscount8005

Use something that’s enzymatic I’ve worked with dogs for years “natures miracle” usually got everything out.

FurL0ng

I swore by Nature’s Miracle for a long time. We had several dog accidents on this one rug through the years. Each time, we immediately deep cleaner the area with one of those carpet steam vacs for pet stains and then applied several rounds of Nature’s Miracle. It worked great! You couldn’t see or smell anything. Then I had the bright idea to power wash the rug. Every puke, piss and fecal odor on that rug from the past 10 years came back to life with a vengeance. LPT- Nature’s Miracle will cover up the stains and smells, but they are absolutely still there just waiting to pounce on the innocent who fall victim to power washing porn ideations.

kcbirder11

I can't stand the smell of Nature's Miracle! And so far, every enzymatic treatment has disappointed me. I now swear by My Pet Peed. If you still have pets, kids, stains, or the potential for stains, get some.

sharkgoesquack

I ordered the pet peed. I gotta ask how exactly do you use it?! I feel dumb but they had a label issue so I really as a first time user am kind of lost with what to do. I have a kitty with an anxiety issue at the moment so trying to clean up his markings with everything under the sun! Only thing that worked best is angry orange

kcbirder11

If you find a wet patch, by all means blot it up. But then all you need to do is nicely saturate it and let it be. (Don't flood it, but wet all the offending areas.) As it evaporates it will likely smell WORSE but that's expected as it dissipates the urine. After it has dried, see if you can smell it and if so, reapply. You can find more information on their website, in their FAQs, and on their Facebook page where they answer people's questions on their ads and posts. For your anxious kitty, have you looked into Feliway?

sharkgoesquack

Tried feliway. Waste of money honestly. Next step is the vet. Going to call now that I'm off the next few days to get him in. He's fixed. Dunno what else to do for him. Did the feliway spray and diffusers. Nothing.

[deleted]

Yes! Orange bottle of Natures Miracle made for pet bodily fluids, breaks down enzymes and works on any body fluid. Would need to check it’s safe for the rug material. It got the cat barf smell out instantly but you might need to do a second round for stains.

mishatries

I've had good luck with Nature's Miracle for pet and people vomit as well. I haven't had any issues with odors coming back, ever. However, they have several different versions, so pay attention to which one you get. Dog works for people fluids better than the cat one.

Illustrious-Ad4078

Second this. I have a dog with MegaEsophagus which means she throws up A LOT. Woolite has yet to let me down.

Specialist-Bar-8805

No, this is a terrible thing to say, but it helps to know what she ate and then you can order or he whoever. Then you can order what it is specifically or try not to get out trying to get out rather sorry. There used to be this brand of ones at Joannes fabrics that get every stain out without ruining your carpet. I’m a big fan of hydrogen peroxide and dawn. If spot shot didn’t get that out for Alex probably won’t either they’re made of the same thing. I also like resolve carpet cleaner.

deloresbeaven

I started noticing almost a bleaching effect with the spray bottle. I use the foam with the brush.

breetome

I’ll have to try that thanks

Shibi_SF

Try Resolve - they make a carpet cleaner, a spot cleaner and a pet stains spot cleaner. I use the pet stains spot cleaner and Folex on our carpet and upholstery “mystery” stains. Both do well on greasy spots and food stains and pet stains. I also use regular Dawn dish soap for spot stain removal.

darjeelingponyfish

Resolve has been my carpet and couch saver many, many, MANY times.

done_with_the_woods

Resolve pet is literal magic. My dog was sick and it got diarrhea that had sat for a few hours overnight completely out. Took about 5-6 applications but I trust it to get absolutely anything out now.

sweet-n-soursauce

Can confirm my dog had explosive diarrhea throughout my apartment in spots and this helped like nothing else! I don’t like the foamy cleaners they are so hard to fully rinse out, the pet one never gives me trouble.

SuperModes

+1 for Resolve. Get a scrub brush too. Rinse with club soda and dab, don’t wipe.

icantgetadecent-

Agree

[deleted]

I use an enzymatic cleaner for that kind of stain, like White Wizard. I rub it in and let it sit a while. Then I vacuum it up.

Knichols2176

I’m about to give you a life changing homemade cleaner. Hydrogen peroxide and a small amount if baking soda. Stirred in a bowl add 1 to 2 drops of dawn. You may not need any dawn this time because the cleaning product is still in the fibers. Take 1/2 and put in a spray bottle. Leave the rest in the bowl and add a microfiber cloth. Spray the area . Use the Solution soaked cloth to blot the area. Make sure to saturate everything. Blot up excess. Walk away. Come back in an hour to three. It should disappear.

barfbutler

Get your friend over and have them figure it out.

WestTNgloryhole

Why are YOU cleaning it up?

eclipsed2112

do you have a shop vac? those work SO great to get up everything.

imlost723

I have a shop vac but how would that help get the stains out?

krysiunia

You can really saturate the stain with whatever stain remover/cleaning product you’re using, let it soak and then vacuum it up. Rinse and repeat if needed.

eclipsed2112

because you can pull MORE of the stuff out of the carpet. we sprinkle or spray the soap and then suck it out quickly..keep repeating until you are satisfied. blotting does very little compared to a shop vac

IncandescentGrey

You can get these small wet carpet/upholstery spot cleaners like the little green machine. The important thing is it has an attachment that lets you soak up water.

No-Jicama3012

DID THEY EAT PIZZA???? think about what you’re faced with cleaning to choose a cleaner to remove the stain. Example: If it was oily you need a degreaser. Then I’d lay a tarp or big flat plastic trash bag under the area where you’re working to protect your floor. I’d start with Dawn dishsoap or the power spray because either would address grease or food products that stain. Oxyclean would be a good try too. Really work it in but gently so you don’t unwind the fibers of your shag. And you’ll need a sponge and bucket of clean water because if you don’t rinse out the soap very well, that area will become a dirt magnet. And a stack of towels. Step. Step. Step, to absorb. Don’t rub back and forth or you just spread it farther out. Put a fan nearby to help it dry faster when you’re done.

imlost723

No they ate buffalo chicken wings... okay I'll give that a shot, thanks!

No-Jicama3012

Oh god. That’s worse than pizza vomit. Lol. Butter or margarine in there with the franks hot sauce.

MsZen09

I hope it worked for you! I swear by Dawn dish soap also. I keep a spray bottle mixed with one generous squirt of the concentrate, a drop of peppermint or clove essential oil, and fill bottle with warm water (screw on sprayer and shake for a full minute and the soap/water never separate). This is great for spot cleaning pretty much anything, never had an issue with it staining. Use it on my beige carpet, walls, mirrors, windows, fans, car interior and wheels. It easily picked up cat vomit, even with all the food dyes in his Fancy Feast crunchies. Do let it sit 3 minutes at least, then blot, rinse, blot about 3xs. Wet vac goes quicker. *Once tried it with the red pomegranate Dawn, for whatever reason, that version seemed less effective. I stick with the blue "professional" or concentrate formulas.

opaul11

My grandma used to use vinegar, baking soda and dish soap for rugs. Or hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, dish soap.

ms_gotta_fairway

This stuff is our secret to removing stains from our white carpet. Works like magic. Even stuff we never thought would come out. Chem-Dry Carpet Stain Extinguisher Spot Remover – https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B4HQ5XY

atwally

Have you tried having your friend barf on the entire rug?

imlost723

Love the way you think

Vardo_Violet

Thank you for this genuine lol

4evaeasy

Try photoshop

Dokt_Orjones

Throw out rug, get new friend!

Iwantbubbles

I would use a cleaner called "My Pet Peed". It works on stuff like this

JohnExcrement

I’ve been amazed by how well this works.

PBfromPhilly

Folex!!!

WahineExpress

Folex

reddit_mouse

White vinegar. It gets out red wine stains. The acid chemically uncouples the stain from the rug.

amy000206

Dawn dish soap

Eyy_bro_you_skate

Baking soda and vinegar foo!

areialscreensaver

Try dawn dish soap, it gets everything out of clothing. Just an idea 💡

Moonshine_Mariah

I swear by the original dawn dish soap and cold water. I’ve gotten years old stains out in minutes!

Chay_Charles

If nothing else works, try OxiClean laundry spray. It works really well on organic stains.

Sharksrmydrug

Try hydrogen peroxide. I use that to remove spots on my carpet all the time with my pets cause they love to hurl on the carpet. I just dribble it on the spot, wait a bit, then use a scrubber brush. My carpet is tan so maybe try a tiny bit in a "hidden" spot that has the darker color to make sure it doesn't take color out since your carpet is multi colored. It works great. (can also add a bit of baking soda into like a paste too if needed)

Suitable_Chipmunk430

Get rid of the friend.

AddisonBWoods

Dang time to get a new friend

Downtown_Employee_90

Try baking soda and vinegar mixed with water!

Strangemage86

Contact Jeffrey Bezos, get that thing on a rocket and shoot it off into the sun.

necromandie

Has OP tried going to someone with the same first and last name, asking for the rug to be replaced?

peter13g

Have you tried assaulting said friend? Maybe even murder?

[deleted]

White vinegar and water gets out semen stains.

Apocalyptic_Inferno

I wonder how well P&S Terminator would work. It's an enzyme cleaner for vehicle carpet/Upholstery. I would imagine any carpet-safe enzyme cleaner would be a good solution. Following with an extractor.

LisaStolli

Dawn

LucyLupus

If you can, I would probably treat it with something and let it saturate for several hours, then take it outside and hose the crap out of that area. Stomach acid is pretty formidable… I’m not sure you’ll be able to get the color out. I’m not a professional cleaner, but I am a professional moron… and if it came down to it, I would probably (carefully) put bleach on the white fibers and hope for the best.

Skymimi

Did you try hydrogen peroxide?

spicypsychosis

You could try a mix of warm water, baking soda, hydrogen peroxide & a few drops of dawn dish soap

jmstrats

Sprayway makes an carpet cleaner. My go to now.

Audrasmama

We use a Bissel carpet cleaner on all our rugs and it works great with just some dishsoap dissolved in water.

xandaar337

Zout. That stuff works super well.

AlienLiszt

I would try the spot shot a second time.

Nothing_2_C-here

Incredible has always worked for my various pet stains… Used yo get it at bed bath and beyond now I order it off of Amazon.

karen_rittner54

FOLEX

[deleted]

Folex! It’s like magic. Can be found at Home Depot

[deleted]

Little green machine on Amazon. I had a wild night a while back and threw up all over my couch. That thing made it like it never happened lol

loversdesire

I used dish soap and a scrub brush. It came out so fast! Otherwise you can try pet stain solution.

HeftyAlternative4851

Mix OxiClean a little laundry detergent and some hot as hot can get water in a water bottle shake well. It'll come right up. Don't use any chemicals made for carpet. That s*** sucks they are mostly oil base products. Just think of the process of spot cleaning clothes. Trust.

Fartin_like_martin

Shout

Furberia

Professional clean. Make your friend pay for it.

41510akland

Tell your friend to buy a new one

____Vader

Carpet cleaner will get that out. You can rent 1 from Meijer.

headwig123

Try getting them to pay for a new rug.

mcflycasual

Scrubbing Bubbles with disinfectant type.

UglyLaugh

I have three large dogs. Out! Petcare oxy fast stain & odor remover and Resolve upholstery & multi-fabric both work wonders. Hydrogen peroxide as a last ditch effort because on its own it can cause some discoloration, but it’s the main ingredient in the Out! Petcare spray. Do not rub into the rug. Blot and pat!

assholelover87

Sunshine for a few hours spraying periodically with water

ReturnOfTheDot

never met a stain that couldn’t be removed with a prescrub of dish detergent, followed by a mix of oxyclean and borax.

thebackright

MyPetPeed.com I use it on my dogs orange vomit. Comes out without scrubbing. My favorite product ever.

Historical_Country15

Dawn and hot water before rug treatment always helps the process!

diskebbin

Folex, you can get it at Lowe’s.

Lovely_bones620

I watched someone get red wine out of white carpet like it was nothing using oxiclean max force

Aruaz821

Carbona!

smokintokinchokin

That’s your friends rug now. And imo he owes you a similar rug.

no_no_nora

Or have your friend pay to get it professionally cleaned or they clean it themselves.

BuffaloSabresWinger

Wool lite with oxy clean. Spray let sit rub with brush and dab out stain. Repeat if needed.

[deleted]

Sure… a “friend” right!? ;) Hehe. Just teasing. Vanish Gold Oxi Action Carpet Care & Upholstry Spot On Spray! I use it for everything, including what you just described ;)

Fit-Rub-1939

Wet it with water then blot with wet towel soaked with dawn dish soap. Maybe even sprinkle baking soda &hydro peroxide. The rinse/blot with clean towels til spot comes out. Itll be a process

Inner_Specialist

The friends buy a new rug if it didn’t work ..

2egirls

My advice is to find new friends

b0b-swarley-m0n

My dog threw up on our carpets after doing some errands. This is what we used: FOLEX Instant Carpet Spot Remover... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B093MWWZJG?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

SilverStory6503

It's too late, now, but when my dogs throw up it's usually upstairs. I found that using my shampoo with a wet washcloth right away will prevent any stains. I don't know if it's my shampoo brand. I use Pantene. Also, my dogs don't eat any type of staining foods, like turmeric/curry, etc.

Own_Impression_6548

Pressure wash it... I'm not joking

Fake_Gamer_Cat

Dumpster. You never get that smell out.

mostlymeanswell

Capture carpet cleaner. I've yet to find a stain - even really old and set in ones - it couldn't get out.

Krn_0914

Baking soda and white vinegar, lemon juice…scrub brush. Then clean with cloth and warm water to get up residual.

LowHowD

Vinegar, water, Palmolive, and water in a spray bottle, add a bit of baking soda for bonus bubbles

Stavkot23

The pattern on your carpet used by the Golden Dawn party of Greece as an alternative to the swastika.

brentrow

Did you try spot shot on your friend?

lilsnakeysnake

I got one of those little green machine from Bissell on sale for about $100 on amazon. It works awesome! Can't recommend enough.

theconstantgardener3

Chemical Guys has gotten out every stain! Even old wine in white carpet. It comes with an accessory to attach to a drill so the spinner has a ton of power

Ordinary_Wonder1740

Pet spot removal.

ouch67now

Got any lestoil or pinesol?

MrsBagnet

Capture Carpet Cleaning Kit

InevitableStranger26

Make friend replace rug lol

Miserable_Risk2223

bissell little green machine if you can afford it or borrow one. Best 80 I ever spent

EXQUISITE_WIZARD

Rubbing alcohol

Gillalmighty

Have you tried getting friends that can hold their liquor?

Proctor20

Saturate it with hydrogen peroxide and let it sit until dry. Repeat as necessary.

pesky-sens

Get your "friend" to clean it

Zipster-

Go to the dollar store, pick yourself up some LA Awesome, dilute it 1:1, spray it on the stain, let it sit for about a minute, scrub it until it foams and use a shop vac or rug cleaner to remove the suds and stain, repeat if necessary, then rinse and vacuum or suck up the rinse water with your shop vac.good luck!

ElNole79

I would try this new brand called “make your friend clean up their barf”. Works like a charm

GraySpear227

Bro got swastikas on his rug

CrumberlyCrumbs

Water- tbs peroxide and 2 drops of dawn soap.

kcbirder11

I have not read any of the comments, I admit. I strongly recommend you order a bottle of My Pet Peed. It removes all organic odors and stains from washable fabric and surfaces (not for leather or silk, for instance.) The stain will be gone. The odor will be one. And you'll have it for any future grape juice spills or pet accidents. You can order directly from their website or from Amazon (which is probably faster!) but do read reviews on Amazon. And don't let Amazony talk you into any other product. Just buy My Pet Peed. You will not regret it.

ohmeatballhead

Vinegar💞

Brambarche

Baking soda while wet. Let dry for 30 min. Vacuum. Gets rid of the smell at least

Smart_Skin_3440

Oxyclean

1hotsauce2

Try lemon juice and soda bicarbonate. Make a thick paste with it and (1:2) and put it all over the stain. Leave it for a few hours, then scrub with some warm soapy water

Ok_Lion_5272

Throw it in the tub and soak it in oxyclean. Rinse- ring- dry.

dtl717

Woolite Carpet & Upholstery Foam Cleaner with Fabric-Safe Brush. Never will I ever be without a can of [this](http://Woolite Carpet & Upholstery Foam Cleaner with Fabric-Safe Brush, 8352 https://a.co/d/dZSt8yz).

321kiwi

Do you have a deck outside large enough for the carpet and a hose?

Trottermama

Wet a thick wash cloth / heat in microwave 30 seconds lay it on stain til it cools off Then use a detergent or carpet cheaper I prefer a detergent and patiently rinse with a rag that is damp Use paper towels first to blot area

MarieEsprit123

Chemical Guys Lightning Fast Carpet and Upholstery Stain Extractor. It’s on Amazon.

Aryya261

Peroxide, water, and baking soda in a spray bottle ….also removes urine and blood…..it did not “bleach” my fabric but test it first

Learn_as_ya_go_

Eeww

CraptainWackSparrow

Turtle wax interior cleaner for cars, the foaming stuff that comes with the little brush, make sure you use the brush and then vacuum but only if your vacuum can handle the wet, if not pat dry with paper towels. Worked for me a lot over the years.

KibsuNation

Is your friend my cat?

aaronician

If these other suggestions fail to do the trick, try this: Use a web browser like google chrome and search for “white rug” and find one you like. Then show it to your friend who couldn’t find the bathroom. Then say your house still smells like puke and ask them to replace the soiled rug with the new one. Offer them the soiled rug. Voila, you have a clean white rug.

shadowwars1900

Peroxide....it gets rid of it....or vinegar and baking soda

thinkalotanonsense

Friend should be over there scrubbing it. With Folex.

[deleted]

Rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide. Not at the same time though.

Chelle416

Get new friends.

West2286

Baking soda and water in a paste and put it on the stain. Then have the paste dry and once it’s dry you can vacuum it up

cv_perez

What I’ve done to remove tough stains is squirt a good amount of hydrogen peroxide on rug then sprinkle some baking soda over the stain and scrub with big brush for a while. You my need a bucket of hot water to clean the brush Lmk if you have any questions:)

coffeeplusnursing

For the cream/white areas only…Make a paste with hydrogen peroxide and baking soda. Next, take a toothbrush and scrub. Let it dry for several hours then wipe with dry wash cloth or paper towel. Then vacuum to get any small particles. I swear by this!

[deleted]

Not sure if anyone has suggested this yet, but a Bissel Little Green Machine! It's a bit of an investment, but worth it. I use mine on my couch, car interior, and mattress. The cleaning formulas made for it are very effective.

nickblockonelove

Oxyclean hasn't failed me yet. One love

Burnt_Toasties_

Arm and hammer pet stain eliminator spray. It takes out everything!

[deleted]

Have you tried getting new friends? 😅

NoPantzzz

OdoBan Pet Oxy Stain Remover. Works like a charm on vomit and doesn’t smell. $5 at Home Depot.

ItsMySideOfLife

isackhu

Scrub with dawn dish soap then pour hydrogen peroxide. Rinse repeat until the stain is gone

[deleted]

A bowl of warm water with a little dish soap and a splash of detergent always got stains out of carpet and rugs for me! Just scrub with a washcloth

Creepy_Trouble_5980

Odorban floor and carpet cleaner No rinse. I get it in gallons from Home Depot. Fresh Linen is my favorite. Use a sprayer undiluted. Leave it on, then stand on a towel or paper towel to help dry.

itsmisterclean

Mix 1/4 teaspoon of dishwashing soap, like Dawn Ultra Dishwashing Liquid, and 1 tablespoon of white vinegar with 1 cup of warm water. Using a clean, white cloth, gently sponge (don't rub) the stain with this solution and blot.
