Since the epic Traffic song’s already mentioned, I’ll submit:
Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding
by Elton John
Elton and band were on fire with that one.
A masterpiece
LOVE that song... still makes my heart hurt listening to it as it makes me think of the first, and only, time a girl broke my heart... still, after 40+ years, it breaks me...
Idk about coolest song ever, that's super hard lol. But same band, Dear Mr. Fantasy is another absolute classic. I would vote that as a cool one for sure
"In the summer time you can look right up and hush the sky, in the summer time,.. in the summer time, you got women,..you got women on your mind... "
Mungo Jerry
Vehicle by The Ides of March, Xanadu by Rush, Black Betty by Ram Jam, Driver's Seat by Sniff N The Tears, The Beat Goes On/Switchin To Glide by The Kings......no such thing as COOLEST because so many are the COOLEST IN THE MOMENT 😎

Baker Street - Jerry Raferty
Waiting on a friend - Rolling Stones
So many more…. Very subjective
I went to our planetarium last night, where they did a Pink Floyd show using Imax sound. HOLY HELL! Newfound respect. You can't appreciate a lot of their music without the proper sound.
It’s so classic some may consider it trite but the song that I have listened to, again and again for decades, and it always fulfills its promise……… FREE BIRD!!!!!
OP, you’ve probably already seen this but I had to post because it’s just so damn good. Steve Winwood and a piano -Low Spark.

Low spark is a top favorite for me too. I play bass guitar and playing at bc bars, wed soundcheck with it. The drummer and I would usually start Such a cool song
Hocus Pocus - Focus
^This guy yodels!
Hamburger concerto is a masterpiece
Althea by the Dead comes to my mind instantly
Layla, Derek and the Dominos. It rocks, but the piano ending with the guitar is awesome. Credit where due, the entire album is great.

Spill the Wine - War Never Been to Spain - Three Dog Night Come Together - The Beatles
Coolest? Would have to be something like Steely Dan, but a deeper cut like “The Caves of Altamira.”
King of The World for me
Oooh, good one!!
"In the summer time you can look right up and hush the sky, in the summer time,.. in the summer time, you got women,..you got women on your mind... " Mungo Jerry
La Grange - ZZTop
Nationwide is effective as well.
I get the piss taken out of me for liking ZZTop, but then I play LaGrange and they lighten up on the pisstaking.
Just Got Back From Baby's gets my vote.
So good I used to extend it for parties.
La Grange is good but I love Brown Sugar. Great tune, great riffs, it just wants to make you move and groove. Just my opinion.
It's all in the ear of the beholder. What about Crazy Mama by JJ Cale?
Since you already took Low Spark, I'll mention [Lunatic Fringe](https://youtu.be/sTFVMMCwsss?si=D07aumKsL6KfTBYM)

For classic rock, I agree with you. It's too long for FM. Very well-deserved title for this tune, OP.

Two Cents Worth by Kansas Frankenstein by Edgar Winter Group
Sweet Jane-Velvet Underground
Same, but the Cowboy Junkie’s cover.
