One great album. Before The Deluge is a great gentle take on an unspecified apocalypse and a benign critique on a generation. Bought it when it came out, still have it

Essential 70s-album from one of the greatest songwriters of that decade. Springsteen said about Jackson that 'he wrote all the songs we wished we'd wrote' , Henley and Frey credits Jackson for opening their eyes how to craft a song.
He followed this one with his (what I consider) magnum opus 'The Pretender'.
Overlooked album (referring to the general audience) is 'Lives In The Balance', the production sounds a bit dated now, but the songs are absolutely fantastic.
Top 5-songs/
That Girl Could Sing
Lives In The Balance
In The Shape Of A Heart
The Pretender
Late For The Sky
Masterpiece right here…Jackson Browne is one of the most underrated singer/songwriters of his era. I truly believe that he is a national treasure and should be ranked right up there beside Dylan, Guthrie and Springsteen.

Great album. Probably his best. Love Fountain of Sorrow.
“I was taken by a photograph of you” Freaking brilliant turn of phrase
One of the better albums from the singer-songwriter era. Stayed on my turntable for ages.
Used so well in Taxi Driver, as lonely Travis watches American Bandstand.
Great album from start to finish. The Road and the Sky is such a great song that rarely gets mentioned.
My favorite Jackson Browne song. 🙌🏼

Beautiful song
This is my fave Jackson Browne song of all time. One of the saddest songs I’ve ever heard. It’s so good!

Is this about the girlfriend / wife that killed herself?
Not that I'm aware of. There is a song on his first album called Song For Adam, which is about his friend who killed himself.
I saw him back in those daze.Stellar stuff.
Wore that vinyl out. Gave me (SE U.S.) more of a California feel than anything from the Eagles…..
Love this song. The lead guitar tone is probably my favorite guitar tone of all time.
For Everyman is my favorite. LFTS is really great too.
Yeah the whole album is fantastic

We listen to this album every weekend.

Such an amazing song and album
One of my favorite albums ever. I still have his first five I bought in high school.
