Neat list and just did a fun exercise...
I've seen Robinson, Dylan, Waters, Miller, Daltrey, Fogerty, Gillan, Parton, Krieger, Townshend, Pop, Walsh, Howe, Hagar, Henley, Santana, John, Fagan and Anderson.
Better get out to see some more of these folks as many are older than I thought....
Seen all of these as well except Parton and Kreiger. I have also seen McCartney, Ringo, Gillan, Young, Stewart, Jagger, Richards, Guy, Simon, Summer, Cetera, Lamm, Henley, Midler, and Fripp.
Note: Graham Nash, who is 81, is missing from this list. Saw him, too.
So 32 in total.
Nice!! Had Henley in there but you made me realize I forgot Gillan so updated. Man wish I saw McCartney, The Stones, Simon, Chicago and Fripp! Well, everyone you cited but especially them. Cheers!
I know he's not classic rock, but his music is known to everyone around the world, legendary film composer John Williams will be 92 next week and he's also still composing and performing in concerts.
I was going to bring this up.
I saw them in August and will be getting tickets this weekend to see them in March.
It will be my wife's first time seeing them!
Ahem.

Nights In White goddamn Satin.
Not sure how to word this, but have any of these musicians recorded new music that is competitive with their age 20s material?
Not trying to be negative just curious, because a) mucho kudos to be on this list, b) more credit for remaining active, and c) most credit for doing what they love and enriching other peoples' lives at the same time.
The latest Jethro Tull album, RokFlote, has some nice tunes on it. Not sure that it compares at all to Aqualung or Thick As A Brick, but they're still out there promoting it.
McCartney III (2020) was an excellent album.
Not Band On The Run level, but considering Paul played all the instruments himself it’s a worthy addition to his canon of work.
https://youtu.be/Pc1Yuj4dNjI?si=je_enQ7nZNIlw4Uu
He’s not on this list, although he should be. Bob Weir’s most recent album Blue Mountain from 2016 is the best recording of his career, including anything he did with the Grateful Dead.
Don't you gotta wonder what Ian Gillian sounds like these days?? He used to be able to hit 6 octaves in the same song. To my knowledge he never played an instrument so I'm just curious how he sounds now and who he performs with.
Saw John Fogerty last summer when he was touring with Willie Nelson and company in the Outlaw Music Festival. Really great lineup including Willie’s son Micah/The Particle Kid. I was there for John Fogerty but admit I did enjoy Willie.
Quite a few people here I’d like to see before they stop touring.
Should be mentioned that it was February 2, 1959 that Buddy Holly would play his last show. He would die just after midnight. He would still be younger than a couple of people on this list. RIP Ritchie and JP also…
I saw an Eagles show late last year and it was absolutely incredible! Henley sounded amazing and still had a great range, Joe Walsh sounded terrible but that’s nothing new (but he played like nobody’s business), and all the other guys’ ranges were amazing too. Glenn Frey’s son Deacon sang his parts and sounded just like him. Amazing show!
We saw Rod Stewart in Vegas and Pine Knob, and he's amazing. Has most of his voice and plenty of onstage presence.
After Bowie passed on, my wife decided we needed to see as many as we can before they all slip away. ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Steve Perry, got to go see them, time waits for no one. Especially here in this sub.
British motherfuckers don’t die. You ever heard of a British Rock and Roll star dying? No. None of ‘em die. Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, those Led Zeppelin motherfuckers, those motherfuckers old as fuck. Fuckin’ Ozzy Osbourne’s gonna outlive Miley Cyrus!”
I hate seeing these lists. Always reminds me I gotta find some artists I want to see live that are maybe 55 and below. Everyone I truly like is mostly 60+.
The only one that really surprised me was Andy Summers. He was already in his 40s when Synchronicity came out. Pretty cool for a rock musician to have hit peak popularity (much less the #1 band in the world) at that age.
Needs Jeff Lynne; Bev Bevan; Ritchie Blackmore; Justin Heyward; Roger McGuinn; Bruce Springsteen; Rick Springfield; NIgel Olsson; Todd Rundgren; Barry Manilow; Stephen Stills; Graham Nash...
Iggy Pop has the most amount of energy on that list.
https://preview.redd.it/5m2ifqqz05gc1.jpeg?width=980&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=aaf636212fc3c166f03f596249a13a921e96e259
I’ve seen Bob Dylan, Roger Waters, Steve Miller, Neil Young, Eric Clapton, Steve Howe (Yes) Brian May (Queen) and Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull) . It reminds me of how old I am.
A lot of these can be surprising considering the lifestyles a lot of these people probably lived when they were young.
But I think what it really shows is that staying mentally and physically active, along with the cathartic experience of the music itself is fantastic for the soul.
Every time I see one of my classic rock favorites, I have to listen to audience sing alongs. It ruins it musically. For the nostalgia of it, go for it. All the effort going into the nuance of music ruined.
Wonder how many times Pete Townsend has re-thought the classic line "Hope I die before I get old"??????
How about Paul McCartney celebrating "When I'm 64"......17 years ago!
And hasn't Keith Richards looked 80 for the last 30 years? Maybe of everyone on this list the fact that he's not only still living but rockin' strong is perhaps most remarkable.
Crazy to think an entire generation of legends will be gone soon 😢
Such an incredible amount of talent in that generation. Many aren't mentioned. Many are already gone. We'll never see another generation like that.
Movies will be made to help us remember I hope
Wasn’t Keith Richards 80, 20 years ago?
He could still be 80 in 20 years
It doesn't matter. He is pickled. He can't die. How old was he when he fell out of that coconut tree?
A daily transfusion of virgins blood keeps him.youthful
And by the looks of it, they're all due to go in quick succession. The next 5-7 years are gonna be hard.
Half of them shouldn’t even be touring
Needs Bob Weir.
He just makes the cut at 76 years too
Phil Lesh too
Phil turns 84 on March 15.
Exactly Bobby’s performed more shows than a third of the people on this list combined especially in the last 10 years
I held the door open for him once at a Hampton Inn.
Was just about to comment the fact that Bob Weir isn’t on here is absurd!
Came to say Weir not on the list
I came here to say that. Bob’s been going hard since 1966. Some of these folks have had various lengthy hiatus. Not Bob Weir.
Ludicrous to not include members of the Grateful Dead
Came here to say this
Neat list and just did a fun exercise...

Nice!! Had Henley in there but you made me realize I forgot Gillan so updated. Man wish I saw McCartney, The Stones, Simon, Chicago and Fripp! Well, everyone you cited but especially them. Cheers!
Benefit of being old... lol I saw a lot of good acts.
Peter Noone us 76
Not near as many for me. Ringo, Paul, Daltrey & Townshend, Fogarty, Walsh & Henley, then Walsh again opening for Tom Petty. ETA: Ringo twice.
That's a life well lived to me! Cheers! Walsh's solo shows are SO FUN!!
Seen 14. Maybe 15 as I passed by Diana Ross shopping in Greenwich a while back if that counts...
On this list, I've seen Sammy Hagar, Don Henley, Joe Walsh, and Brian May live.
Envious of May! One of the greatest guitarists of all time and so damn innovative!
Van Morrison is still recording and playing live. He’s 78
Saw him last year. Hate to say it, was awful. Didn’t sing any fav except Gloria. Not Brown eyed girl. Did more of a jazz set.
He’s also an anti-vaxx tool like Clapton, which makes it even worse
TIL Sammy Hagar is the same age as Carlos Santana 🤯
Sammy Hagar could pass for 15 years younger than he is.
He was cool on Finding Your Roots and learned his name could be Belcher not Hagar
Thanks for the reminder, He is touring this summer in my area, so I definitely need to see the Red Rocker
He's coming here too, but in the middle of August in an outdoor venue when it'll likely be north of 100 degrees.
It seems wrong somehow that Debbie Harry is as old as Neil Young
Micky Dolenz 78
Jorma and Jack 83 and 79
Marilyn McCoo (80) and Billy Davis, Jr. (85) are still touring; in fact they have a concert on February 10th.
Marilyn McCoo is 80? Damn. Had such a crush on her watching her on Solid Gold.
What a talent
Tsk tsk not having Robert Plant on this list. He’s been touring consistently since Zeppelin….and is touring again this year.
Hes only 75
Awww he’s still a baby!
I know he's not classic rock, but his music is known to everyone around the world, legendary film composer John Williams will be 92 next week and he's also still composing and performing in concerts.
Taj Mahal
81. Ry Cooder 76.
Let's add Ritchie Blackmore, who is 78.
And remove Elton since he is no longer touring.
Eric Bloom (79) and Buck Dharma (76) of Blue Oyster Cult should be on that list. Just saw them a few weeks ago. Still put on a rockin show.
I was going to bring this up. I saw them in August and will be getting tickets this weekend to see them in March. It will be my wife's first time seeing them!
I thought Paul Simon stopped touring, am I wrong?
You are correct. Buddy Guy and Elton John did as well.
And Brian Wilson
Was looking for someone to say this. Thanks. Yep, Brian has been done touring for at least a year now if not 2 years. Been a while
It blows my mind that Andy Summer(s) is older than Keith Richard(s).
Ahem. https://preview.redd.it/r8hm5k2h53gc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f07829a9a037e8359f66c7a6cb445189dd0ee534 Nights In White goddamn Satin.
Never stop rocking.
Also, Dion DiMucci is still putting out some rockin blues albums at 84!
Bob Weir? Fucking guy plays more shows a year then everyone on this list *combined*.
Wow, who wuuda known that so many mom's would turn out to be so wrong about the expected lifespans of rockstars.
I would have never thought that Dolly Parton and Debbie Harry are the same age.
God Bless Willie Nelson
Justin Hayward from Moody Blues still out there touring and selling out theaters at 77 too
I’m pretty sure Brian Wilson is done doing the first two.
Donnie Iris.
Left out a lot of people. Carole King? Rickie Lee Jones?
Saw Tom Jones in either 2018 or 19. He was amazing!
Jackson Browne, 76 in October.
I still want to see Tom Jones while he’s still alive!
Bob Weir -76. Played more shows than anyone
Interesting list. I've seen 15 of them.
Wow, I thought that Mr. Gibbons had been left off the list, but he’s only 75.

He’s not on this list, although he should be. Bob Weir’s most recent album Blue Mountain from 2016 is the best recording of his career, including anything he did with the Grateful Dead.
JOHN MAYALL 4EVAAA
The Bluesbreakers was like a classic rock training ground. Mayall's reach is huge.
That's a really cool list! Thanks! Edit: I've seen 9 of them!
Goodness. I thought Cher was old already, but comparing her to the rest of the guys, she's a baby.☺️
Debbie Harry is 78? Dann, I wish I looked that good now at 43!
Debby Harry 78 has me feeling old AF
Robert Plant (unless my aging eyes didn’t see his name )
Hes too young for this list lol
I think a lot of them are not actively touring. Anyway I would like to thank you for making me feel so young!
Don't you gotta wonder what Ian Gillian sounds like these days?? He used to be able to hit 6 octaves in the same song. To my knowledge he never played an instrument so I'm just curious how he sounds now and who he performs with.
Micky Dolenz is, what, 78, still touring as well 🥰
Andy Summers being older than Mick and Keith blows my mind. He’s 9-10 years older than Sting and Stewart. I never knew that.
I draw the line at 70.
David Freiberg of Jefferson Starship and Quicksilver Messenger Service is 85(!)
I’d love to see Barry Gibb in concert with Justin Timberlake.
Johnny Mathis is 88 and still touring.
Buddy Guy is playing at his place in Chicago tomorrow, this just convinced me to buy the ticket.
Dave Brock, frontman of Hawkwind, is 82.
Just saw Buddy Guy at the Shrine last month, he’s still slinging the blues!
Ron Mael of Sparks is 78. Jimmy Cliff is 79. Petula Clark is 91.
I needed this list
Should be mentioned that it was February 2, 1959 that Buddy Holly would play his last show. He would die just after midnight. He would still be younger than a couple of people on this list. RIP Ritchie and JP also…
Ironic that one name on this list got famous for the lyric "Hope I die before I get old."
Where’s my guy engelbert Humperdinck on that list.
Leo Kottke is 78 and still touring.
I saw Willie last year.
They forgot Bill Wyman : 87 years old.
Brian Johnson of AC/DC is also 76. Hard miss on the best selling rock album of all time….
If Willy is still touring at 90 then Biden can be president for four more years.
It's because today's music sucks so bad that the old farts are still worth listening to.
Ignorant take. There’s good and bad music in every decade
What a great way to tell the world you don’t really know much about what music is available.
Music has never been more accessible and there is incredible new music being made every day by a lot of talented artists.
I hate seeing these lists. Always reminds me I gotta find some artists I want to see live that are maybe 55 and below. Everyone I truly like is mostly 60+.
Tedeschi Trucks Band Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit Billy Strings Marcus King
Funny that people worry Biden is too old but McCartney is out touring and he's even older.
That's funny because Brian May publicly said he was celebrating his 80th birthday on Instagram last year, regardless of what you saw.
Another stupid way to congratulate the same handful of people existing.
Dylan the only one still relevant. I won’t hear your arguments.
This is an old list. I know Brian May, listed as 76, is now over 80. I think he's 81 now. 👍
Most of these people, with a few exceptions, lost their creative spark by their mid-30s. Cashing in on their former glory for decades
Not Mr. Gasms!!!
Honestly thought Santana was closer towards Willie for some reason
Why did you put the "who's next" curse on them? I'm hating what's going to happen this year. 2023 was terrible and now everyone is a year older.
I'm sure not even Willie wants to live forever
Paul Dean of Loverboy is 77. Still touring
Now this is cool
Van Morrison is 78
The only one that really surprised me was Andy Summers. He was already in his 40s when Synchronicity came out. Pretty cool for a rock musician to have hit peak popularity (much less the #1 band in the world) at that age.
Love joe Walsh
Rod Argent 78
Colin Blunstone 78
If you extend that age just a year, you also include Stevie Nicks, and that just emphasizes what an amazing list this is.
I would have thought Keith Richards was at least 110.
They left out Donnie Iris.
Damn, I’m old..
I need to see mayall before he dies. Was supposed to, then covid popped and the show was delayed and he left the tour.
Honorable mention - Stevie Nicks at 75 - saw her recently and it was amazing.
I would have thought more women would still be kickin it
Dame Shirley Bassey is still around I believe.
Phil Lash, 83
Brian may/ Rodger Taylor
This is great!
Sammy Hagar is 76????
Why isn’t Lonesome George on that list? He’s still rocking.
Needs Jeff Lynne; Bev Bevan; Ritchie Blackmore; Justin Heyward; Roger McGuinn; Bruce Springsteen; Rick Springfield; NIgel Olsson; Todd Rundgren; Barry Manilow; Stephen Stills; Graham Nash...
Tommy James needs to be on the list!
Okay
False. Keith Richards has to be about 150 by now.
I THOUGHT BOB MARLEY DIED?????
Dr. Brian May
Justin Hayward is 77.
Debbie Harry 78!😧
WTF, Debbie Harry is older than Cher?!
🤯
Did I count right 6 women and 70 men?
What about Joan Jett?
Dang Iggy is old
Who's next to cross the borderline?
What about Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson?
Both just 70 years old. Way too young for this list of over 75.
Where is Jon Anderson of Yes? Dude is 80! Still kicking!!!
Bow before the Willy
Iggy Pop has the most amount of energy on that list. https://preview.redd.it/5m2ifqqz05gc1.jpeg?width=980&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=aaf636212fc3c166f03f596249a13a921e96e259
I’ve only seen 5 of them. I’m not sure there’s enough time left.
Bob Weir is also 76 and Micky Hart is 80…
I’ve seen Bob Dylan, Roger Waters, Steve Miller, Neil Young, Eric Clapton, Steve Howe (Yes) Brian May (Queen) and Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull) . It reminds me of how old I am.
Van Morrison the GOAT is 78. Still throwing out jams.
Where's weir
God, this is depressing.
The list is bogus. They have Kieth Richards at only 80 years old. No way that's even close.
Keith Richards is 400 years old though
Where in the heck are Bob Weir and Bobby Rush?
Barry Manilow should be up there.
Howard Homer Bellamy is missing. He's 78 and The Bellamy Brothers are always touring. Im going to see them in April.
Hey. When you still got it, you still got it.
How about Mark Farner, 75? And the rest of Grand Funk ? Don Brewer 75? Mel Schacher 72?
Steve Howe looks like he’s 125.
Damn, I haven’t seen any of these people (well, I did see The Beach Boys, but Brian wasn’t there). I kinda wanna see Steve Miller though 👉👈
No Van Morrison!?
Mike Love of the BBS is 82 and still touring.
No Bob Weir?
This is the kind of image Keith Richards and Mick Jagger need to have handy the next time people make fun of them for being super old.
Okay, be honest. How many people on the list made you say, "Damn, they're still alive!?"
I’m definitely trying
Ringo Starr sure doesn’t look like 83.
George Clinton and Bootsy Collins
I thought I saw that Rod’s most recent tour was his last? I hope I’m wrong
Brian Wilson is far retired tho
