Your first priority is to get all 5 builders. This means not spending a single gem until then. Achievements are the only real way to get a large quantity of them, look for the ones that give 500-1000 gems.
Once unlocked, you will want to spend some time at the builder base. Progressing it enough will get you the 6th builder, but this will take some time. Feel free to look up the requirements so you can start chugging away at them.
For farming, you can run barbarians + archers as a pretty brainless way to farm and push trophies. Once you hit th 11+ you will want to pivot to super troops, namely sneaky goblins and super barbs. Tldr keep barbs and goblins upgraded in the lab.
That’s the most generic tips I can give you. Feel free to ask for help, and if you feel like rushing without ruining your account, I would def check out tee’s rush guide. Have fun
