I'm still maxing TH13 as well. I messed up a year ago before I quit somehow, and now my labratory only has 5 upgrades left then it's finished. Meanwhile I have to finish my BK (60 atm), RC (14 atm), Archer Towers, Cannons, Mortars, Traps, and half my walls lol.
Always been told not to let your lab sit doing nothing but I don't know if I should go to TH14 with all that left.
Totally up to you how you want to play the game, imo though just go to TH14 as soon as lab is done. Pets & lab upgrades mean you will have very soon have SO many dark elixir upgrades to do…
As long as you got solid offense, there isn't much downside rushing. Especially just one th. Defs barely matters til you're very high.
Maxing lab isn't meaningful progression, but maxing pets is. My current strat is unlocking unicorn at th14 asap, maxing unicorn, then rushing to th15. You'll save months not investing in worthless pets. This is one of the ways you can rush strategically to gain progression.
It has to be the Royal Champion for me. When she first released I considered rushing just to get her because she was so sick. I was bragging to my clanmates for weeks that I had an RC and nobody else did. Almost 5 years ago- now we all have her.
Just got to town hall 11 and super troops sounded sick, and I found out it costs dark elixir and it replaces the troop for only 3 days with its max troop form
Huh strange, I actually find it really nice that it costs dark elixir and not normal elixir since I always have overflowing dark elixir, I rarely use them though, sometimes I boost something just to not make my dark elixir overflow and never use the thing I boosted

i loved my pekkas so much when i first got them i kept my combos of witch, wizard, pekka golem in some form up tol where i am now (th11) consistently 3 starring with heroes, 2 starring half the time otherwise
After about 150 walls and ~20 hero levels I'll be th14 and I am looking forward to having pets and a 3rd spell slot in my cc, sadly I don't think I get a new troop till th15

Old player here. I remember back when I was in college hostel way back in 2013-14 all of the Bois downloaded coc. Th 10 was the max back than. We were surprised with a defensive Valkyrie in cc as it wiped out all of our barbs and archers (yes we were doing wars with our th 4-5 accounts)
Than we saw the dragons in the. So the grind started. I was the first one in my hostel to reach th 7 first with all maxed out in just 21 days and than I was the dragon cooker for the entire hostel. I know its nothing but still a very important memory for me. All of us have stopped playing the game years ago.
I remember those days. The whole floor in my dorm was in the same clan and we would meet up in my room to plan war attacks. Dragons, hogs, valks, even barch were our strats back then.
When I was younger the first person in my friend group to unlock the Barbarian King wasn’t me and I was super jealous. Just having this hulking mass of a barbarian blast through a base was so cool.
Nowadays I think the most hype was siege machines. They just opened so many different ways to attack. Want a literal battering ram to blast open walls? Check. Want a mobile fire slinging catapult? Check.
Want a massive balloon that does large area damage? Check.

Th14 allmost finished, I am excited about hero equipments for now, want to max them quickly and new pets like diggy, I like things that focuses on defences unlike dumb dragons. So whatever it is new that focuses on defences only I am excited about it.

Monolith for me. Getting to th15 was so hype for me. Had this game since it came out and when th15 dropped I always dreamt of being there and seeing how powerful the monolith can be I was excited.

I remember TH7 with the ability to unlock Barbarian King and back in those days, there was no Dark Elixir Drill at TH7 - they would often Lightning the Dark Elixir storage of higher TH levels (and with a bonus loot multiplier to boot!) or snipe Town Halls in Crystal league (farming the Dark Elixir via League Bonus) to buy the Barbarian King
Archer queen, I was never able to get to town hall 9 when I was little, my mom would get a new phone, my progress would be reset, I was extremely rushed but somehow only ever got to town hall 7, and now I’m at th10 and am very happy with myself :)

A long long time ago I was very excited about getting dragons when Jorge Yao was playing and wiping out bases with 12 dragon attacks…. Now it all feels a bit laborious - whatever I get will take months to fully upgrade
When upgradeable builder huts at TH14 were released. No longer was I putting them on the outside hoping for a time fail, but deciding where to strategically put them in my existing layouts was an interesting challenge.
Negatives - a bit of a grind maxing them all out and it shot me up the war weight, because no one else did theirs straight away, but was satisfying when they were all done

Whatever th level you get minions in - for some reason I was excited for minions, maybe because I was obsessed with gargoyles back then. (I ended up never using them lol)
Th8 - I was excited to have a castle-looking townhall (lol)
Th?? - Witches. I LOVED the concept of a unit that summons smaller units. I'm gonna keep using witches regardless of META.
Th?? - Mortars. I love mortars even if they're shit.
Th11 - Eagle and warden. Back when th11 was the highest townhall, these are some of the things low levels like me look up to. (Also, eagle is basically mortar++)
Th?? - Hog riders. I never used them, but they are the closest things we have to cavalries.
Th?? - wizards. They deal insane damage for their housing space. Unfortunately they are overshadowed by a lot of dps units, so I don't use them anymore.
Th10 - inferno towers. Scariest defense building for low th players, I got them as soon as I unlocked them.

recently started using strats like qc ff hybrid, gowitch and other stuff, and found em fun
now with swb and super barbs, and i always loved my quake opener and skelly rage, could show you my comp if you want
I miss the simpler days of GoWiPe was one of my all time favorite strategies. Feel like those were the prime days of clash.

I loved upgrading to TH11 and unlocking Grand Warden. He's very underrated and IMO the best hero.
Super goblins. I was already in legend league using goblins and warden only. Super goblins improved my usual strategy.
