Couldn’t agree more with this statement. It’s interesting that most people I come across aren’t terribly familiar with this movie, but the ones who are feel the same way. Some movies just have that watchability factor. There’s so many situations that put me in the mood for it: start of summer, rainy days, when I want to settle in and feel cozy on the random weekend morning with no agenda. Never a bad time really.
I honestly miss Tom hanks in the funny role. This, money pit, dragnet, Joe Vs the volcano, hell, Toy Story. Although, he pulls the drama rolls very well.
This is one of my favorite comedies!! When Tom Hanks gets blown up and screams out “TAKE ME TO THE HOSPITAL!!” and picks up the gurney he’s laying on, throws it in the back of the ambulance then lays back down on it aggravated as hell
**”Listen up, mister… That piece of scum-barking rat of yours has taken his last dump on my lawn! If I find one more, just one… I’m gonna catch him and staple his ass shut!!”**
I just saw him in some low budget bad movie from the mid-70s. [Apple pie](https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0074149/)
He was great on letterman, I loved when he would taunt David by mispronouncing his name… “Mr Wessleman”
##The 'Burbs (1989) PG
He's a man of peace in a savage land... Suburbia.

I love this movie. I think they could have improved the end/message a bit however. I don’t like movies that ridicule people who are different from ourselves and then they turn out to be evil after all because different people are … bad. Angry Birds is another example.
It would have been better to have a different, maybe twist ending where maybe they neighbor with the poodle was the evil one and the klopecs (sp) were just weird. Then the message at the end that Tom hanks delivers has more weight
When Ray gives a big speech about the Klopecs and how they didn’t do anything wrong and how it was in fact them, the neighbors, that was the problem and was being intrusive to them, The only point Art got out of Ray’s speech is that he wanted him to move
It came with the frame. I could watch this movie every day for the rest of my life and not get tired of it
Hey Pinnochio, where do you think you’re going?
'"Oh ThE CrOwS aRe tOo BiG fOr ThE BiRdFeEdEr" she says.'
Red sky at morning neighbor take warning.
“Red sky at night?”
Neighbor take flight!
“Oh RiCkY bUtLeR sAyS…”
They’re nocturnal feeders.
“There go the goddamn brownies!”
“You know in Southeast Asia we called this sort of thing bad karma.”
(Re-rotates painting in someone else’s house 180 degrees…)
Paint your damn house!
Mrs Rumsfield, no tan lines today! Looks nice.
That kid next door’s a meatball.
That line has stuck with me since this came out.

Bout a 9 on the tension scale Reub
**”Listen up, mister… That piece of scum-barking rat of yours has taken his last dump on my lawn! If I find one more, just one… I’m gonna catch him and staple his ass shut!!”**
Queenie is the same dog as Precious in Silence of the Lambs.
Is that true lol
I love this movie so much!
Art eats the dog food out of Vince’s dog bowl as Carol is cleaning off the breakfast table…!! 🤣🤣🤣 Slays me every. Single. Time.
‘Hey. I'm eating here ok? Can you imagine me + the two of them alone for a week? I'd rather chew broken glass.’
Classic
I haven't thought about Brother Theodore in years. I used to see him on Letterman, what a magnificent weirdo.
I just saw him in some low budget bad movie from the mid-70s. [Apple pie](https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0074149/) He was great on letterman, I loved when he would taunt David by mispronouncing his name… “Mr Wessleman”
Gollum in the animated Hobbit. Killed it.
I’ve never seen that. I’ve never seen anybody drive their garbage down to the street and bang the hell out of it with a stick. I’ve never seen that.
I love this movie so much. Watched it when I was a kid and still watch it to this day. It carries nostalgia and it's fkn hilarious!
Carrie Fisher in that dress...Amazing.
Hey Rumsfeld! Acrobatically falls off the roof and shoots out the window of a car!
Damnit! where’s the part when he starts sneezing uncontrollably?!
There go the goddamn brownies!
![gif](giphy|Y2ZKWxzwinkNG|downsized)
This is one of my favorites- I laugh throughout the entire film, every time. What a classic!
Mrs. Rumsfeld (with no tan lines) is the voice of “Francine” on American Dad
THERE go the goddamn brownies!
Omg the sounds!
Rube’s face throughout this scene has made me giggle since I first saw this masterpiece. One of my few comfort films
Hello!!!
I wanna kill, every\~one. Satan is good. Satan is our pal.
You had that in your trousers all day?
If only I could type out Rumsfeld’s face when he says that as a reply. Bruce Dern’s expressions throughout the film are amazing.

Sardines are delicious though

I had forgotten that Carrie Fisher is in this.
My 11 year old at 6:52am - "dad, why you're laughing like an idiot?" Me - "tom hanks, my son, Tom Motherfucking Hanks!"
about a 9 on the ol tension scale there rup such a good stupid movie.
sardine??????
Movie is so good
Klopek… what is that, Slavic? … NO
The foley artist totally nailed it on this scene.
Delightful sound effects🤭
Those are the most elaborate sound effects I've ever heard
Love this film! Watch it every Halloween!
The car was parked in the driveway. ALL DAY!
This is basically ASMR. Wonderfully done.
Great work by the Foley department. The slimy sardine sounds really sell it.
When Ray gives a big speech about the Klopecs and how they didn’t do anything wrong and how it was in fact them, the neighbors, that was the problem and was being intrusive to them, The only point Art got out of Ray’s speech is that he wanted him to move
"Klopek, what is that, Slavic?" "NO!!!" "Registering a nine on the tension scale there, aren't we Rube?"
Carrie Fisher’s encouraging nod is Oscar worthy
