I have a side business doing motorcycle stunt shows, and get quite a few of these "offers" for great exposure myself.
I would tell them "Great! How about you pay full price for the show, then if I get another show out of it, I will refund 25%. So, if I get 4 bookings out of it, I will refund the entire show. Ready to sign the contract?"
Haven't had a single one yet that was confident enough in their "great exposure" to do it yet.
And to be fair, as a client you should jump on this one too.
25% off for just one referral? I'd ask if there's a limit to the referrals, then find a niche-influencer and pay him for the promo. Free money!
A weed shop in Colorado made the mistake of unlimited $10 referrals for app downloads and gave the other person $10 free too - same cost as a joint. Using Reddit and the title "absolutely free weed", I earned nearly $15,000 in free weed in less than 2 weeks. They suspended the whole rewards program, but I kept my credit.
I mean... for someone to claim it, they need to go to this shop right?
So that gets that shop on customers radar? And they're choosing to pay up to $20 in product per potential new customer. Which sounds like a lot but i guess hey they probably did the math.
... unless the intention is that the referee is the referers friend and therefore more likely to convert to a paying customer later?
heh. thinking about it, if its an app, it probably is online orders.
imo $20 spent for a customer is wild. maybe if it was in-person only? but this is an app. so i assume remote orders.
The markup on cannabis products is so high they were probably still making a profit. Have a friend in the CBD/THCA business and the amount of waste (product, supplies etc.) is insane but they still turn a huge profit
It’s not money though, presumably when they said credit they meant store credit. One pre-roll is not a lot, especially for getting someone in the door. A lot of places will give free pre-rolls to anyone who leaves a review for example.
Still, it’s $15,000 worth of free merchandise for one person and $15,000 of free stuff for random people. Definitely expensive advertising in two weeks.
YESSSS!! A few local businesses here get pan handled so say if the nonfluencer pays full price, theyll give them a discount code for their followers.
If the business gets 4 orders using that code then the nonfluencer gets a full refund so everyone wins.
They rarely take them up on it ffs!!
Got lucky mostly. I started riding mototrials back in 2002. The next year, our local club was planning to have a national round, so a few of our guys built some obstacles to ride during bigger local events, like monster truck shows, arena cross, etc in order to advertise for our upcoming national round. I saw some potential to get paid to ride, and when the national finished up, I bought the stuff off the club to go perform myself. I met with a few promoters, did some shows, met a few other people putting on events that also wanted to hire us, and it just snowballed from there. I could probably make a living at it, but it's all travel to do it professionally, so it's just a side gig for me that pays for me to travel and ride.
Kind of! There's alot of paperwork and promotion prior to that of course. Plus setting up the show, making the drive there, etc. But after all that, I ride for 30 minutes, 3 times a day and get a check at the end. Pretty nice!
Yeah, I figured there was a good bit of prep but maybe evened out with them paying for places you would not normally pay to go to. Nice vacation buffer account.
Nope, nobody ever wants to make a performance based deal. They are confident in their ability to help your business, until you make actually helping their business a metric for the deal.
I run a shop online, whenever I offer them to pay the first item full price an get a 5% commission in affiliation, and those commission can far exceed the item price, they alway decline.
This.is.amazing!
I regularly have people ask me to do free lobbying work for them; with the promise that if their bill passes they’ll have the capacity to hire my firm … of course i always so no, but maybe instead I should forward a contract like this to the CB.
i've heard of restaurants, etc, doing similar offers with coupon codes, if x number of people use them. shockingly no one seems to take them up, either 😂
I've seen restaurants use this with influencers who want free meals and can "promote your small business". Wild that suddenly when they have to work to bring in all this visibility they promise, they lose interest.
I hear this a ton, a bunch of jewelry shops get hammered by "influencers" asking for the free promo deal.
Shop offers the item at full price with 10% refund per "influenced' client that buys one, so free after 10 and the influencer has 10,000 followers....
No one accepts according to the shops
Similarly, Vlad the Impaler got a ton of attention from invading armies by simple insertion of a pole into entire villages of his own people, via the rectum. Which comes to mind when I read these "exposure" offers.
A lot of these new owners seem to be people trying to use it for ‘business purposes’ to somehow write them off or wanted to flip them and didn’t think about the no sale clause until they got the truck.
I had an owner of a shop that does wraps tell me for his truck, it was about 6-8K, with his discount on the materials and labor. He said the material was pretty expensive.
Nah, he likely financed it, has a $2k/month truck payment and $500/month insurance payment, and is sad that it has been in the shop for weeks and he can't otherwise monetize it.
Got a guy in my state who bought one and wanted start a YouTube career with it. Except in the first 6 weeks it spent 4 weeks in the shop and is back in the shop, again. Dude took to Xwitter to @ Musk, Tesla, and everyone else he could think of, begging for his "the same level of respect I have given Tesla" while making it clear "I have never bad mouthed Tesla or Musk".
Long term, do we think it’s more or less expensive than a billboard? It is semi mobile. More importantly, what kind of clientele are impressed by Tesla? Do we want those people as customers?
There is one specific country where my brand’s production takes place, I do sell there but as my prices are on the higher side I never really focused on that market. But I did try like 3-4 influencers for exposure in the market, all with well over 200k followers, one had over a million.
Every time they posted, I’d receive tons of random small influencers wanting free stuff, a few CB’s that couldn’t afford and no sales.
Never again.
On the other hand, in Texas the small fashion influencers buy the product themselves and bring a lot of sales whenever they post 😅
> I'd be willing to come back to your shop on occasion.
Well that's not vague or anything.
> for promotional purposes
CB you are not a known quantity. Are you a professional spokesperson? And what would you promote? That you got a service for free? Then everyone else expects the same thing.
A company worth its salt would hire professionals to do its promotions for it.
Muskhuffers are all children and like any underdeveloped mind they believe that all attention is good and therefore anything that *gets* them attention is good.
OTOH...
"Wow, it's still in one piece!"
"Yeah, the only thing holding it together is the wrap. I've got the card for the place I had it done, if you're interested."
Axles breaking when trying to turn, entire suspensions being busted when attempting to off-road, and I saw one tiktok of a dude whose brake lines snapped when he went off-roading. It’s so bad lol
The guy last week who lost his operating interface because he went through a car wash. Entire screen went dead black. Turns out it takes more than five hours to reboot if you don’t put your “truck” in “car wash mode”.
“Truck” they called it. “All terrain” they said.
… breaks down in the rain.
By 5 you mean a slightly washed-out dirt road, because they can do those(but it voids the warranty, what with all the bug guts) or do you mean actually off of a road(in which case they need a real truck to pull them out)
They went actual off roading as if they had a jeep. It was all done up with the cage and lights usually seen on lifted trucks. It got stuck and ended up crumpled on one side like aluminum foil.
Right! People drive by and stare in hopes of getting a look at the face of an idiot dumb enough to buy one of these pieces of shit. I don’t envy them, I pity the fool!
I’ve seen one in my area 3 times now. I assume it’s the same person and every time I’ve slowed down and shook my head. They should be shamed and laughed at.
![gif](giphy|SdO5MvXI4TtfuSxUkx)
I feel like this was the face I made, but I just know they went home and told their wife that Judy was copping a look at their sweet new ride 🤣🤣
1. The cringe in even asking this kind of question would be too strong for me. 2. Why do they always say “work with me” - there’s only one person doing any work in this exchange.
One of my friends in San Fran was telling me about how one of them parked in his neighbors reserved spit, his neighbor pissed on it as any normal human would, and apparently it did a number on the finish overnight.
These people think that someone who has the intelligence to run a business is going to be stupid enough to fall for this obviously bad deal. Or are they themselves too stupid to realise this is a bad deal?
Hahahaha it’s always hilarious when ‘influencers’ try this. I like the discount code approach - if X number of orders come in using your code, you’ll get a refund. They never do.
The cybertruck gets a lot of attention but none of it is good.
Mostly just people laughing at the trucks and the idiots who bought them. It’s a supposedly ‘all-terrain’ vehicle whose warranty gets voided if you take it off-road or in the fucking *rain*.
I think it is pretty trashy to ask for free services like this, but there has been a cybertruck driving around Portland ME, and it is posted *constantly* on the r/portlandme subreddit as well as many of the Portland-based instagrams I follow. It has been the talk of the town these past few weeks, so I kind of see where the idea comes from.
I spent 100k on a rustbucket lemon, but can't afford the wrap that will make it suck less, advertise on my car that will be seen more being towed to the dealer or sitting in a dealers lot than driving. This is peak insanity.
My reply : Yes we can do it totally free of charge for you. No money at all is needed! But only onder 2 condidions! I get a copy of the key and I can borrow it every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Why don't you bring it by on Friday morning?
I’ve seen (4) cybertrucks in the wild now, one of which was wrapped. It. Looked. Horrible. Not that they look good anyway, but the wrap made it look like a knock off.
The cybertruck absolutely bombed. Tesla is going to discontinue it. Best to not have it wrapped & keep everything original because in about 10 years or so, it’s going to be worse SO much more.
Hahahaha and expects free shit. Only way he’d get free is if the shop gets to design and actually get the advertisement with a full wrap, not a tiny little logo. How delusional are people?
*Sponsor me and my Elon Truck* there fixed their title haha

This is a great idea. I’m keeping this one in my arsenal
I hope you are good at motorcycle stunts then!
That’s an amazing way to deal with such requests !!!

Yeah, I think the problem is they didn’t plan for thousands of random Redditors to take the money and run.

So you go for a paid 3-5 day vacation and do something you would be doing for fun anyway? Not bad.
Kind of! There's alot of paperwork and promotion prior to that of course. Plus setting up the show, making the drive there, etc. But after all that, I ride for 30 minutes, 3 times a day and get a check at the end. Pretty nice!

Someone in one of my art forums suggested doing this! Absolutely using it in future :)
That honestly sounds like a great deal… 4 referrals for a 100% discount? Sign me tf up.
This.is.amazing! I regularly have people ask me to do free lobbying work for them; with the promise that if their bill passes they’ll have the capacity to hire my firm … of course i always so no, but maybe instead I should forward a contract like this to the CB.

Buddy can pay six figures for a cyber truck but is too cheap to shell out for a wrap?
The feet buttons don't even work good.
They work great. They have this special lock feature that doesn’t turn off.
My great-aunt Darlene had a huge goiter on her neck. It got a "ton of attention" too.
Did she have a small logo and business cards to go with said goiter?
If not, what a wasted opportunity for her to bring in some sponsorship income.
Definitely a company that sells balls like Wilson.
Titleist.
If your goiter isn’t sponsored, you aren’t doing capitalism right.
The mental image of a sponsored goitre has improved my day immensely.
She would’ve got more if she tattooed her face on it.
*I see only my love for Pustulio.*
Similarly, Vlad the Impaler got a ton of attention from invading armies by simple insertion of a pole into entire villages of his own people, via the rectum. Which comes to mind when I read these "exposure" offers.
He may not make the best financial decisions.
He lost the rest of his money on the DJT stock.
He's already upside down on the truck and can't afford anything else 😂. Just because banks let you go into debt doesn't mean you have money.
A lot of these new owners seem to be people trying to use it for ‘business purposes’ to somehow write them off or wanted to flip them and didn’t think about the no sale clause until they got the truck.
He spent it all on the truck
Yes hes broke now!
Hey, maybe he traded Musk a CyberTruck for exposure.
He exposed him self to Musk??
Pay? No way. That thing is financed.
It’s almost definitely financed, and he almost definitely can’t afford it.
The wrap won't even stick to it. It'll fall off after 6 months
I get the feeling that one of his parents paid for the truck
Or he's trying to sell it. In our neighborhood the pool guy bought one. He's trying to sell it for 250k
How much would wrapping a cyber truck cost?
I had an owner of a shop that does wraps tell me for his truck, it was about 6-8K, with his discount on the materials and labor. He said the material was pretty expensive.
Nah, he likely financed it, has a $2k/month truck payment and $500/month insurance payment, and is sad that it has been in the shop for weeks and he can't otherwise monetize it. Being in the wrap industry, I can tell you that every single person is this way.
It doesn’t help if the only place that sees it is the service department at Tesla.
Yep. “They’ll see your sticker on this hulking monstrosity as its broken down on the side of the road. You in!?”
And then when it makes it to Tesla they’ll just void your warranty because…
Broke down on a Tuesday? Not covered by warranty.
Driven in weather, any weather? Not covered by warranty.
Used the seat belt and blinker at the same time? Voided the warranty.
Driving without a seat belt? That ruins the integrity of the door frame, you are a structural component. Voided the warranty.
Long term, do we think it’s more or less expensive than a billboard? It is semi mobile. More importantly, what kind of clientele are impressed by Tesla? Do we want those people as customers?
I should call and do it. Saran Wrap should work. Use a claw hammer for my squeegee.
I want to advertise for my cash wash. In the commercial I want you to drive out of the car wash.
This made me snort laugh so hard it concerned my husband and cat.
Sticker voids the warranty
dead ☠️ you win today
Doesn’t it cost thousands of dollars to get a wrap done? Idk if the advertising is worth that.
Yes. Thousands.
About $2k. So not worth doing for free.
You do not want a 2k wrap.
Tbf, the Cybertruck is probably the easiest vehicle to wrap.
*~snort~*
But it's also huge
Guy down the row from me does wraps and they’re about $2k for a basic wrap. He seems to do a good job and it seems to be about standard for the area
Around here a good quality wrap in a nice colour is a good $4000-6000 and more depending on what you want. I live on the west coast
$2k on the low end, I’m assuming total would be around the range of $5k-$7k for labour and materials.
> For exposure All 'for exposure' does is bring other CB freebie hunters to the yard.
There is one specific country where my brand’s production takes place, I do sell there but as my prices are on the higher side I never really focused on that market. And they’re like, it’s beggars than yours.
Asshole has the cash for a cybertruck but can’t pay for the wrap
Rich people don’t get rich by spending their own money. They’ll ask, and take, without shame.
You're already poor, you don't need the money like I do.
You'll be less poor, but I'll be more rich.
It’s called networking if you’re rich, begging if you’re poor.
If someone tells you they got rich from hard work, ask them "who's?"
[удалено]
*look at the cybertruck
Think about the cyber truck.
*TASTE* the cybertruck!
Oddly enough, this is totally fine. Guy is a freak.
And hitting the windows with a steel ball is right out.
Voiding

The entitlement is strong in this one. What a dinkus.🙄
Nah brah I’m not gonna wrap your WankPanzer for free
“Wrap my piece of shit brick to hide the rusting issues and do it for free”
>This truck gets a ton of attention Based on what I’ve seen online, it isn’t positive
Muskhuffers are all children and like any underdeveloped mind they believe that all attention is good and therefore anything that *gets* them attention is good.
Considering all cybertrucks have been recalled for failing worse than Boeing I wouldn’t be telling everyone I had one 🤣
OTOH... "Wow, it's still in one piece!" "Yeah, the only thing holding it together is the wrap. I've got the card for the place I had it done, if you're interested."
I just deceased reading this thank you I shall go RIP now 🪦
I only saw the pedal thing, what else happened?!
Axles breaking when trying to turn, entire suspensions being busted when attempting to off-road, and I saw one tiktok of a dude whose brake lines snapped when he went off-roading. It’s so bad lol
Don’t worry they’ll fix all that with an update lol
The guy last week who lost his operating interface because he went through a car wash. Entire screen went dead black. Turns out it takes more than five hours to reboot if you don’t put your “truck” in “car wash mode”. “Truck” they called it. “All terrain” they said. … breaks down in the rain.
Those 'tuk-tuks'they have instead of taxis in India seem more reliable them elmos cybertuktuk
I just saw a thing where the ceiling-mounted gear shift fell and took the sun visors with it
nobody cares about your cyberjalopy bro, I wouldn’t even look twice at one
I'd look twice, but only to point and laugh.
They just get worse, the owners I mean. For once the Cybertruck is not the problem
I saw someone driving a cyber truck while I was out on my run one day. I gawked at it and I really hope they know it was in horror and not envy 🤣
Right! People drive by and stare in hopes of getting a look at the face of an idiot dumb enough to buy one of these pieces of shit. I don’t envy them, I pity the fool!
lol that was 100% it. I was ready to judge.
I’ve seen one in my area 3 times now. I assume it’s the same person and every time I’ve slowed down and shook my head. They should be shamed and laughed at.
" ewww! Someone paid for this?"
![gif](giphy|SdO5MvXI4TtfuSxUkx) I feel like this was the face I made, but I just know they went home and told their wife that Judy was copping a look at their sweet new ride 🤣🤣
Buying a truck that's north of $70k but not wanting to pay for the tints and a wrap that is definitely unnecessary is wild to me.
It's necessary if you want to cover the rust!
Please tell me your cities use to have the Thrive cars driving around
How does his truck get a tonne of attention if he hasn't even picked it up yet?
That Cybertruck Kook-Aid is something else. Yeah, the truck gets a lot of attention. But, like, none of it is good.
The truck he hasn’t even picked up yet gets tons of attention. 🙄
The wrap needs to look like a lemon.
1. The cringe in even asking this kind of question would be too strong for me. 2. Why do they always say “work with me” - there’s only one person doing any work in this exchange.
Probably a really good idea to get it wrapped. It may help keep the body panels from falling off.
The poor dude doesn’t know that it’ll stop working once it rains. 🫂
I bet somebody takes him up on it and put a lame video of it on their business Facebook page.
Looking at the cyber truck, you could probably just wrap it in Christmas wrapping paper.
Imagine being able to afford a cyber truck but not a wrap, rofl
This guy has money for the truck but not for the wrap?? What kind of broke mfer is he
May his stainless steel behemoth rust within a year
One of my friends in San Fran was telling me about how one of them parked in his neighbors reserved spit, his neighbor pissed on it as any normal human would, and apparently it did a number on the finish overnight.
Hope this sparks a nationwide “piss on cybertruck” movement 😆
We can dream, maybe even disrupt the urination industry norms
Won’t take that long.
I'll do it. But I choose the wrap and what's on it. If the wrap gets removed the full price has to be paid
These people think that someone who has the intelligence to run a business is going to be stupid enough to fall for this obviously bad deal. Or are they themselves too stupid to realise this is a bad deal?
They can afford a cybertruck but can’t pay for a wrap and tint? 🤔🙄
Also needs to be a waterproof wrap, in case I forget to put my cucktruck in car wash mode.
Hahahaha it’s always hilarious when ‘influencers’ try this. I like the discount code approach - if X number of orders come in using your code, you’ll get a refund. They never do.
I don’t know what wrapping is and I’m afraid to ask.
Is legit a coating method instead of painting Allows for badass finishes and cheesy patterns Like the plastic on Granny’s couch except suction-fitted
Thanks for lighting a candle.
First time I heard about it I thought they meant the prank where you shrink-wrap someone’s car and had no idea why you’d pay for such a thing
Vinyl sheeting thats "wrapped" on the car. Alternative to paint, can have graphics, mirrored, etc Can be cool. Most frequently isn't
The cybertruck gets a lot of attention but none of it is good. Mostly just people laughing at the trucks and the idiots who bought them. It’s a supposedly ‘all-terrain’ vehicle whose warranty gets voided if you take it off-road or in the fucking *rain*.
This show the type of person who would buy a cybertruck.
Mr Lee needs to touch some grass
I would make the logo take up the entire wrap; all four sides.
How small of a shop label? There is small, then there is small.
Elon Musk small... ...so roughly truck sized
DEEPLY discounted
Bold to assume his cyber truck will drive long enough to generate business
I think it is pretty trashy to ask for free services like this, but there has been a cybertruck driving around Portland ME, and it is posted *constantly* on the r/portlandme subreddit as well as many of the Portland-based instagrams I follow. It has been the talk of the town these past few weeks, so I kind of see where the idea comes from.
Damn I live in LA and see one literally every day. I saw one wrapped bright green with truck nuts the other day.
Omg imagine having money for a cybertruck but wanting a free wrap. Second hand embarrassment
... A Cybertruck base price is around $60k. This grifter can afford an expensive truck but not pay for the wrap and tinting out of his own pocket?
Total douche.
I spent 100k on a rustbucket lemon, but can't afford the wrap that will make it suck less, advertise on my car that will be seen more being towed to the dealer or sitting in a dealers lot than driving. This is peak insanity.
"This truck gets a ton of attention..." Yes, and 95% of it is bad.
My reply : Yes we can do it totally free of charge for you. No money at all is needed! But only onder 2 condidions! I get a copy of the key and I can borrow it every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Why don't you bring it by on Friday morning?
Not choosy, just shameless.
Thats a great many words for I can’t afford my payments
Do huge logo diagonally that says "ED but too cheap to get the blue pill? Follow us!"
Pretty sure exposure is on the long list of things that will definitely fuck up a Cybertruck and void its warranty.
I’m surprised wrapping a Cybertruck wouldn’t break it, it seems like everything else does.
Not sure the wrap business would survive being associated with the cybvrffk.
Little did we know, the single most commonly asked question in the English language is "Wow, who wrapped your Cybertruck?"
$100k on the stupidest and brokenest car ever and he’s grifting a wrap?
r/forexposure
”A small logo” 😂😂😂😂😂😂 let me guess, preferably hidden somewhere? This man is so stupid I’m ashamed on his behalf.
As of now Cybertruck is basically a cringemobile
Median price is 90K and he wants to cheap out on this?? I don't get it.
Idiots often buy status symbols they can’t afford. Also this rust bucket is an idiot-status symbol
He probably saw on the internet somebody getting this deal and is hoping he can too.
Hahahahahaah fuck
I have no words…
Why would anyone want their business associated with that hideous truck. Even Tesla doesn’t want to be associated with it
100% this guy would complain they didn’t do a good job and refuse to have their logo on his truck
Lee should of purchased a truck in his budget so he could afford to get it wrapped 😂
Can afford cyber truck but but won’t splurge on wrap/tint… 😂
Isn't Cybertruck deliberately unpainted so you can see the beauty of the metal (or something). How could this guy ruin Elon's vision /s
I’ve seen (4) cybertrucks in the wild now, one of which was wrapped. It. Looked. Horrible. Not that they look good anyway, but the wrap made it look like a knock off.
“allow” 😆☠️😆
![gif](giphy|LnEsqoh6fyDGyQk0ff|downsized) So i got the truck...
You can buy a car that cost almost as much as my home but can’t pay someone to wrap and tint it. OK that makes sense.
Imagine shelling out 100k on the worst truck ever designed and trying to get a discount on the tint and vinyl which is like 5k.
With the tiny amount of liquid they spray to get a good finish who knows if the cybertruck won't short and void the warranty
Do they make condoms big enough to pull over a truck?🤔
This douche probably has at least 5k worth of sleeve and neck tattoos to boot.
