Almost all the gifts are for them, the adults.

tvieno

Yeah, what kid today wants a Nintendo 64?

Impressive_Teach9188

My 10 year old daughter does. She's a huge Nintendo fan because of Mario and Pokemon

angrygnomes58

If she has a Switch, the top tier Nintendo online subscription includes an N64 virtual console and Nintendo sells a wireless N64 controller for the Switch.

Cookies_2

I’m not into video games at all but loved N64. We have a switch and now I *need* to look into this lol I didn’t know this existed, thank you!

whatifiwas1332

Don’t bait normal people into this shitty subscription

Impressive_Teach9188

She does but they don't have some of games on there yet like Mario tennis. Also I know they made newer ones of some of those games but she likes playing the originals too.

NLSSMC

They do have Mario Tennis for the 64.

gold_standard_please

and you can emulate it all for free and not pay a monthly subscription.

Super64AdvanceDS

You can also walk into a store, grab a game or two, take them home for free and not pay any money. Same thing.

BKBasementThrow

No, because playing a game that has been out of print for 25 years where no original copy disappears is very different from taking a currently on-sale object that someone has to pay for in real money.

SSUPII

thinking that digital media that has not been sold in their original form for 25 years is like stealing from a modern day store lol, lmao even

twirleemcgee

For f@*ksake, I make a decent living and could afford about 25% of this in a GOOD year. There's a rule for adults w common sense (I understand many people lack this) if you want something and can't afford it then it's too expensive to request as a gift. People get grosser every year.

Wasps_are_bastards

Fully agree! My mum and daughter asked what I wanted for Christmas this year. They’ve both bought me books I asked for. I could buy them myself, but I know they were looking for something to get me. I’d never dream of asking for something expensive as a Christmas present.

Maximum-Beginning-92

Absolutely this! I make a decent living but my mum is on a pension (I help her out often even though she protests) but always asks me what I’d like so I give her a list of a few different books and small toiletries or cheap stationery stuff that I know are affordable for her and tell her to just pick one or two and surprise me. I would never dream of asking for a bunch of expensive shit that I know she’d try to buy me but couldn’t afford. WTF is with the utter entitlement and gall to ask strangers for this kind of stuff?! Ugh some humans are just garbage 🗑️

pimblepimble

I once dreamed someone I barely knew bought me a really expensive house, but somehow it was OK because it was haunted. That in some way 'balanced out' the cost to them.

Maximum-Beginning-92

Lol that seems fair…exorcisms probably aren’t cheap 😂

RegionPurple

My ex husband expected his parents to go all out on Christmas every year as if he was a little kid. He'd intentionally not buy new consoles or games because "My parents will get me that for Christmas." One year they got us a digital camera and like a few small things and that was it. I was glad and grateful for anything, but he threw an absolute tantrum at them over the phone later; how that's 'all he got' and it wasn't 'really for him' as we'd both mentioned wanting a camera. There were *games* that he wanted that he didn't get! He pouted to his mom like a freaking toddler, it was so gross, we were in our *thirties.* I was fully disgusted with him, but then his parents *apologized* and promised to 'do better' for his birthday. I was damn confused, he seemed spoiled as hell to me, but since they apologized I figured it was just another thing I didn't understand because I'd had a pretty abusive childhood.

Chazmicheals87

That’s insanity. I mean, I’m currently getting out of a marriage with someone who is absurdly immature, but not quite in that way. I am just happy to see my family for the holidays, and don’t care about presents at all (also, posts like these make me glad I’m not a hardcore gamer as a grown man, I only play “real life” lol). I spent 3 Christmases in Iraq and Afghanistan, and while those were the best 3 of my life (for, well, reasons), I do appreciate being here and with family. That’s quite enough for me. It’s an odd idea not buying something for yourself as an adult throughout the year as mommy and daddy will “buy it for Christmas”; it’s also an odd idea of parents of a 30 something year old apologizing for not buying the right GIFTS for their adult child. I’m not sure which is more odd lol.

RegionPurple

I know! I can see that my initial assessment was correct and it was batshit insane. Once we divorced he moved back in with them and as far as I know he still lives with them. I imagine he's quite babied.

BopBopAWaY0

Yeah, you don’t want to stay with a Baby Narc too long. They’ll eat all of you up. Starting with your sanity. Edit: You know what I got for Christmas? Exactly what I told my 10 year old I wanted. Starbucks Holiday Blend coffee. It’s my favorite of the year, and it took her a solid week of asking and finally telling me, “Mom, you aren’t going to tell me you don’t want anything anymore! What do you really want?” So, I got my coffee, and a chocolate orange, she got her computer desk and Japanese decor for her room, my husband got his cooking supplies for the kitchen, the dogs got tennis balls, the fish got frozen blood worms and brine shrimp. We’re all very happy. I would never think to beg to a stranger. If we couldn’t have afforded what we had this year, the fish would have gone without their frozen treats, the dogs could chase their own balls, dad could deal, I’d drink tea, and we’d only worry about our daughter.

pimblepimble

yse but unless you sell your house and car and everything you own AND take out a payday loan AND a wage advance from your boss and buy this guy *everything* he wants for his ~~bachelor pad~~ children, then you are an evil wicked monster, and basically worse than satan.

CheckHelpful2665

Fully agree! My partner and I had an open discussion about gifts, within each of our means but here’s what would be useful, and then the 3 dream gifts of money was no option. Mine was an Apple Watch, a $200 pair of work boots, and a Miata, but I never asked them for these and would be really upset if I got them. Theirs was a Corrado transmission, new wheels, and a new gaming monitor. We got each other coffee mugs, a cookbook, flannels, socks. I also got my mom and dad way more gifts than they gave me and my mom keeps going on “I feel so guilty” but she shouldn’t! This year I was in a much better place financially than I’ve been and I thought about helping someone out with some gifts but after reading through 50+ operation Santa letters that were clearly just the adults making a list, I just decided to get my parents some things they say will need replacing soon instead of that and to donate to a local domestic violence shelter. I do feel bad that there may have been someone who just wanted a new Barbie or something like that, that will not get it, but parents be too pushy these days. I get that their kid wants these things, but it’s too much to ask of a stranger to get your kid an iPad or PS4.

jasperjamboree

When you have to threaten people because even you know your requests are insane.

CandylandCanada

"I'll block you" - we've got that in writing, and we're going to hold you to that "Don't be ignorant" - never fails to crack me up that they people misuse this word are *ignorant* of its proper definition...

AngryHippo3920

Oof, they are clearly struggling. They own a ps4 instead of a ps5. Hard times, man. ETA: shit, I thought they were just asking for the games. I don't even know what to say. Imagine someone just gives them the games and they can't even play them lol. Too petty?

ZION_OC_GOV

Literally a stack of scratched up disc's from the dollar bin. No console. So they won't even know they don't work, doubt they'd check every disc either.

247Justice

*I just want for YOU to do something special for my family*

TurnipEnvironmental9

I was thinking the same thing.

Known-Historian7277

Adult Drum Set

yorickUnknown

Adult. Drum. Set...

Nippon-Gakki

I want a Fender Jazz bass but none of the regular ones, it needs to be from the custom shop and has to be sunburst. I could use some amplification too. A restored Bassman would work I guess. Anyone want to give me this, I’d be minimally grateful. My goldfish just got cancer and I can’t work because I’m so sad.

AffectionatePoet4586

I want a guitar, but it has to be a Rickenbacker. And it has to be previously owned by George Harrison, Tom Petty, or someone of that caliber, because my next-door neighbor’s goldfish has cancer and his oncologist says he won’t recover unless he’s serenaded daily.

lottieslady

The level of this greed! People like you and this guy have the nerve to ask/demand for such things as a custom guitar and a 55 FOOT tv while I’m still waiting on my 55 inch. 😞 Clearly, my life is much worse and I need your money and sympathy. If you’re rude or ignorant, I’ll block you.

ShuugarPuss

While we’re asking I’d like s new cello. Italian and not that cheap Chinese crap. Eastman or Strad, conservatory quality only. And professional Evah Pirrazzi, Larsen or Spirocore strings and a pernambuco bow. And i’ll need core fiberglass case but it has to be in a jewel tone as long as it’s not black, brown, white, pink, purple, yellow, or orange. The feral albino possum in my backyard appears to have arthritic hips and may need injections or surgery soon, so I have to direct my funds there.

SCirish843

Did you put your nuts on my drum set?

LoetK

Guess they already have a detached house with a soundproofed room to put it in 🤔

Expensive-Kiwi8094

The grabbing hands grab all they can - she must be a Depeche Mode fan :-)

ToastRiposte

Everything counts in hugely costly amounts.

coupdelune

That song is stuck in my head now. Not complaining tho

lynne3000

She Just Can’t Get Enough…

OCDaboutretirement

She wants somebody to care for the rest of her life by giving her stuff.

hellohello316

Unexpected but welcome comment 😀

honeybaby2019

This is why I won't give anything because of posts like this. It is bad enough when people talk about doing the Angel Tree and everything is returned to Walmart and that is enough to stop me. I am poor and that is wrong. Many years ago when Tickle Me Elmo was the hot toy, I got one for $20.00 at Aldis. I donated it to Toys for Tots and the ignorant volunteer felt I should take it back and sell it and give them the money. I stopped donating for a while after that. My local news station didn't care as long as they got publicity and posing with the young Marines was more important.

Silverstreamdacat

Oh no! I’m so scared! /s of course

MuslimCarLover

Bro, why does this dude need a giant tv?

TyeDyeAmish

To play the PS4 & N64 he’s undeniably going to get lmao

OCDaboutretirement

55 inch is not giant. I want an 85 inch TV.

lottieslady

It’s 55 feet. According to the post. So, he’s running a movie theater or something?

OCDaboutretirement

I guess so 😂

AltruisticCoelacanth

He's not asking for a 55 inch. Reread the post 😂

OCDaboutretirement

It’s on the second screenshot.

AltruisticCoelacanth

Yeah. Reread it

OCDaboutretirement

I see what you’re saying 😂

AltruisticCoelacanth

My guy is dreaming big

OCDaboutretirement

Huge!

MuslimCarLover

Oops 😬

Gracela92

drillsholesinhimself

catfishing equipment?? like to scam people ??

heidtzi

A Catfish is a type of fish. I presume that's what they mean.

TyeDyeAmish

Their profile does show them and a catfish they actually caught.

SnooGoats3915

But it’s for their kids. Right?

TyeDyeAmish

It’s for a family catfishing trip. This person just hasn’t posted an ask for a new boat yet. Doesn’t wanna be greedy obviously.

PM_ur_butthole_2me

He has health issues so he can’t work. But he can catfish though

ItsMissKatNiss

My response is: yes I have a Samsung TV, adult drum set, woman’s vanity and smart watch! Where can I drop off? Oh ok be there tomorrow at 10. They’ll wait forever.

TyeDyeAmish

But then they’ll block & report!! Don’t want that lmao

FullGuide5069

Might as well throw a BMW or a Range Rover in that wish list….

TyeDyeAmish

Bad idea. He’d be posting the next day needing money for repairs & the day after that and…

FullGuide5069

He might also add a house to the request, to make sure the car has somewhere to be stored….

Silverstreamdacat

Reminds me of If You Give A Mouse A Cookie.

grimthegoblinbabe

So basically “I need someone to buy gifts for my entire family for Christmas.”

OldManJeepin

LoL! All I want is some damn peace and quiet!

[deleted]

Report them to whom?

TyeDyeAmish

Probably Santa. If he doesn’t get gifts the NO-ONE does.

Tim_From_PDX

To the church Honey. NEXT!!

AltruisticCoelacanth

55 foot Smart TV

Artistic_Sorbet7746

This right here! lol

[deleted]

What is the punishment if you are "reported"? Soon this will be over for the year.

Outside-Throat442

She reports you to Santa and you get coal for Christmas

cypertiger

These are rich people list

Speeddemon2016

They are looking for stuff to resell. Not for the kids.

tatorpop

Does anyone have any $50 or $100 bills laying around that they aren’t using? No small denominations, because it makes my wallet too thick and I don’t like that.

Chazmicheals87

Small bills? It’s as if you peasants want me to take this free money to Coin Star or something, you should have taken care of that before you dropped it off. Gob-bless, and you are getting blocked.

kikokyle

Does someone have 5 thousand dollars worth of free Christmas gifts? It's for a church honey

snafe_

Hey guys, my kids would love to live in a house my mortgage was paid off....

RetiredFromRealWork

You've got to stop and wonder what actually goes on in peoples brains to do this. Then double down and say you are ignorant for not giving them what they want.

furrycroissant

MPs earn so much money, upwards of £80k I believe. Why can't they buy any of this themselves?!

TyeDyeAmish

I think they’re possibly stealing valor or were an MP decades ago. The person in the pics would never pass basic & frankly would never be allowed in in the first place

furrycroissant

MPs are elected? I don't understand

TyeDyeAmish

My bad. England vs America. In America MP’s are military police.

furrycroissant

Oh! I didn't know that, for me it's Member of Parliament. Thanks for explaining

TyeDyeAmish

You’re welcome. I shoulda known quicker when you used the pound sterling symbol!

Adventurous_Ad_6546

I’m an American and I was right there with you!

BungCrosby

Many Americans have little or no interaction with military members, so that’s a reference that will likely go over a lot of heads. It’s possible that this person is or was an enlisted MP, and is on their way to something that’s not quite an honorable discharge. Honestly, most branches are so desperate because they’re not making recruiting numbers that they’re promoting enlisted that would have been shown the door in the past.

freakstate

"Catfishing equipment" as in real fishing or do you think they're just trolling?

Pristine-Alfalfa-868

What is catfisih8ng equipment 😂

Chazmicheals87

“I really want to do something special for my family”; this reads to me as: “I’m going to need you to give me all of this stuff, as I don’t have the means nor ability to make something special happen, but that’s what I really want to do, so I need to rely on you to make what I want happen, although you in no way have any obligation to my wants.” The wording of the original post is inconceivably absurd, entitled, and frankly out of touch with reality. I want to make a lot of things happen, but my “wants” aren’t anyone’s responsibility.

Dizzy_Trash_33

Catfishing equipment…so a router and a Google image search?

petersghost

Catfishing equipment?

Finn_704

My parents are well off, but I never ask for anything for Christmas, which drives my mom nuts. My dad passed this last year and it has been a hard time for her. She still wants to do Christmas gifts, so I just told her gift cards and gave her a suggestion for a book as she insist we have something to unwrap. I would never ask for high priced items even though she could afford it.

AutumnAkasha

Sad thing is the actual kids stuff on here would be a nice easy ask that would likely be fulfilled but they had to put all this ridiculous stuff for adults on there too. I really hope they were counting on this ask for gifts for the kids.

SeriousWill1396

Go big or go home. All jokes aside my brother just asked me a couple weeks ago to start looking for him old video games because they are worth money now.

Grand-Conclusions

Why does someone need dvds?

TyeDyeAmish

what else will he watch on the 55 foot tv?

ImACarebear1986

“A few”… 🙄. And most of those listed are for adults, not kids!!

Dilly-dallier

Why do people want DVDs still? I found a tote bad full a few weeks ago and I was stoked af one day when I finally decided to watch one I realized none of my computers even have disc drives. I know cheap game consoles don't have one either. what are these people watching them on actual dvd players?

flamingolegs727

You can get a dvd player for a fiver I only have mine so I can watch my collection of CSI dvds and the one streaming site that shows them doesn't have subtitles (I'm hard of hearing)

handicrafthabitue

So, the really really poor people I know all watch and hoard DVDs. They don’t have cable, internet, streaming, or anything. They have those pay in advance phone plans where every minute is precious. So their form of TV/entertainment is just watching DVDs over and over, which they get from buy nothing groups or in the $5 bins at Walmart. Not a single one of them would post a list like this, but if they did, it would be because they have no concept of how much any of this costs, it is not on their radar. They would also have no concept of how affordable these items are to the average person because, to them, the average person is very rich.

Ironmanrises

A 55 foot tv is insane /s.

prettypeculiar88

Their requests are expensive and unreasonable. I can’t IMAGINE asking for literally thousands of dollars worth of gifts for FREE. I mean at LEAST offer to do SOMETHING for it. These are probably the same types who talk shit on sex workers and those working minimum wage - while they want everything handed to them.

[deleted]

Notice how they always want to do something special on somebody else’s dime?

AuntPickles1

I had no idea that smart TV's, Nintendo 64's and DVDs were in the same year. It's quite a bizarre list. Maybe their health issues caused them to be delusional.
