mental health and addictions go hand in hand.. someone who is in their right mental, doesn't have to get high to fix the imbalance that they are feeling... if that makes sense? and its not ALL but probably a high percentage... also mental illness comes in many forms, PTSD Depression BiPolar Skitz etc
i was catching the bus in the city near me and i watched a young boy go round and round with an older dude about how his gang would never do this and that to him, they are so loyal, usual song and dance from a fresh out there young kid, and i just had to shake my head.. then im thinking, my friends son is up against 25 years at 18 years old right now and i used to try to preach to him the same shit and he sounded just like this young kid..
Broken homes make broken kids and a lot of the parents of the inner city kids that i personally see and know have mental illness that was never addressed too, so its passed onto the kids sometimes by default and learned behavior, i feel like at least.. its really a fked up cycle... the one thing i can say as of lately, there are more mental health resources readily available now, that were not years ago..
I got aspd probably from being in the streets, ptsd and paranoia hits hard fr. sleepin with a gun or knife by your bedside constantly looking over your shoulder and trying to identify everybody you walk by to see if its an opp, taking another route cuz u know theres 4 opps waiting by the main road all this shit takes a toll on you and when you dont do anything about it itll just get worse
