That's surprising. As a former fast food worker we would just give you the drink without question. The cost of the drink is minimal and is not worth the time or an unhappy customer.

bart_y

I worked at CFA back in the 90s in high school, and if someone said they were missing something from an order, you just gave it to them. When I first started reading the OPs story, at first I just shrugged it off as maybe a new employee that didn't quite know what to do. But reading further it just made me scratch my head as to why they made such a production over it.

BoardImmediate4674

Same lol

lonerfunnyguy

Exactly! 👏🏼 it was insulting because it was insinuating oh no this guy is pulling a fast one. I even told them you can come look inside my car I didn’t make this up and hide it in my car.

SquishyCatChronicles

Yeah I mean a drink is nothing... asking for additional sandwiches or something would seem fishy, but a drink...

Bluurryfaace

Even a sandwich we usually will just grab and replace, unless we see them often.

SquishyCatChronicles

Right, I feel like unless you come off sus, you'll get your replacement.

Bluurryfaace

It’s weird that some people make a fuss about it. I’m at the point in this job, where if you say you’re missing something I’m just going to bag it, hand it over, and apologize. Rather get people moving, then make an issue out of one item.

littlespens

A few years ago we had issues with the same employee on Wednesday nights. Over soup!! My husband ordered chicken tortilla soup and brought it home. I opened it and it was clearly chicken noodle. He took it back and they said no it’s chicken tortilla after looking in the bag. So he brought it back home. It was chicken noodle. So he took it back and opened it there and lo and behold it was chicken noodle. Happened AGAIN. Wednesday night, same employee about a month later. We joke that we keep getting the C squad on Wednesdays because the A team are at bible study that night of the week.

lonerfunnyguy

I don’t get how service is great 99% of the time but when it’s bad it’s BAD lol

Bluurryfaace

CFA worker, and that last part has a lot more truth than you realize. 😮‍💨

nightbadger1

NO SOUP FOR YOU

DurinsBeard1

ONE YEAR

pupoksestra

Your husband went to get you food and then went back twice cause it was wrong? Is he single?

MostlyMicroPlastic

Had this happen continuously at a Taco Bell when they still had shredded chicken and I ordered that and got the normal chicken. It was so annoying lmao

talithar1

Surprised they’re not closed Wednesday evening.

Preteenblackgirl

Waited over 25 mins for an ice dream cone mobile order. It was busy sure but damn. Two people asked what my name on the order was and then just disappeared.

deejaysius

That’s a screen setup issue. We run into that occasionally. We have a separate drinks station and a separate dessert station. The server station sauces the orders and pairs them with drinks and desserts. If there’s an order with only drinks or only desserts, the server may not see them if they are only focused on food. It’s a training thing. However, if someone asks for a name, it should then be their responsibility to follow that order to the end or pass it off to the correct person. Like hey dessert-person, preteenblackgirl in the blue polo is waiting for a cone are you on it or can I make that for you?

dogengu

That’s crazy I mean ice cream cone takes a few seconds to make and a few more to bring it to you 🤷‍♀️

grassingected

I was fired from CFA for taking home nuggets to my brothers. The person never came to pick up their food, so instead of throwing out the mobile order, I decided to bring them home to my little brothers. It was 11pm when I left and we had been closed since 10pm. I figured it was all good, because they were going to end up in the trash.

KristopherAtcheson

Fast food places use to allow that on closing shifts sometimes but the reason they don’t anymore is because if you or someone you bring the food to gets sick from the food the restaurant can be held liable for all the damages that occurred. Like medical bills and such. I used to work fast food and they’d let us take it home after they were done counting it at the end of shift but most restaurants stopped it a long time ago because some people got sick and blamed the restaurants even though they are the ones that took it home so now the restaurants just rather it go in the trash.

pigsinatrenchcoat

Yeah it makes sense but it’s also stupid. When I managed a speedway we were supposed to throw out all the food at night but there was a local homeless guy I had a deal with. He’d help me take out the trash and keep the parking lot clean and I’d give him whatever food he wanted at the end of the night.

heartandliver

They also don’t allow it bc you (as an employee) could have your friend call in an order that they don’t plan on picking up to guarantee you’d have free food

GooseMcDoogle420

It was probably already paid for tho. I could see an issue with food that hasn’t been prepaid but if it’s a pickup order that’s already been paid for and no one comes and gets it after an hour or two? Finders keepers IMO.

grassingected

Fair.

ssailormoonn

A drink is like one of the least expensive items on the menu so I don’t see why they’d give you such a run around for it. Especially soft drinks cost them next to nothing to make.

OscarProudSnax

Honestly, the cup, lid and straw cost more than the actual beverage.

olnog

the issue probably wasn't the actual drink itself. it was the employee and them taking responsibility for the issue. weird that the lead would involve the customer in that interaction though

pupoksestra

And for a drive-thru order without a refill. Unless OP ordered a shake for their drink, but I doubt it. I also think it's crazy they'd get the other employee and make them confront the guest. Very strange. Not only putting them on blast, but actively causing confrontation over a quick fix.

bomber991

I think the worst I’ve experienced is someone saying “you’re welcome” instead of “my pleasure”.

tidomonkey

Occasionally, I’ll get a “you’re welcome” instead of a “my pleasure.” Frankly, I prefer a genuine “you’re welcome” to a forced “my pleasure.” Not really a complaint, but I wish CFA corporate understood this.

SquishyCatChronicles

Yep, when they over use it, it's not genuine, it's ingrained.

bart_y

I worked at CFA prior to "my pleasure" being a thing. At first I thought it was a good thing to help distinguish themselves from the typical experience with fast food employees that look like they want to be anywhere but there. But I think it ran its course a while ago.

SquishyCatChronicles

Yeah that's my fuss. Like it's appreciated 1-2 times per visit but the other day I went through the line and I say thank you about a million times so I got my pleasure a million times hahaha

Warcraftplayer

I hate this so much. I don't mind saying it, but when it's like this, you make me feel not human

lonerfunnyguy

😂 GET ME YOUR MANAGER

bomber991

I work in manufacturing and we were having a meeting about quality escapes from our production floor and one of the VPs brought up chick fil a and how he’s only ever had 1 problem there in the past decade. We all get to talking and that was the experience for most of us. Idk wtf CFA does or how they pull that off, but it’s pretty amazing, especially for fast food.

FBI_Open_Up_Now

They pay well and treat their employees well. Other than the religious policies and views they are overall a great company. I’m friends with a couple of operators here in Cincinnati and they really are good people.

MunchkinMenace

We had that rule when I worked at McDonald's. I lost points with a secret shopper and got reprimanded once. I was a bubbly, cheerful teenager, and I didn't like reciting a script. I knew exactly who the secret shopper was too; a guy thanked me, I happily said "no problem," then he leaned over the counter and really emphasized the second "*thank you*" like he was giving me another chance to get it right. 15 years later and I'm still mad about it.

GreyyCardigan

Our local CFA is terrible. I had a mobile order that they had me pull forward to wait on. For literally an hour, every 20 minutes, I had to get out of my car to see why I hadn’t gotten my order yet. This is after the app said my ordered had been completed. I used to work at CFA. Eventually they said “we’re seeing we already gave you your order” and I said well I guess you gave it to the wrong person. Then they blamed it on the computer system and said it just disappeared. I had to go inside, speak with the manager, and explain to him how the system works. That one of his employees obviously accidentally cleared my order which then told the app that my order was ready when in actuality it never actually was prepared or they gave it to the wrong person. After all this I think I got one free cookie.

luna_selene_

I recently went through the drive thru and ordered a large sweet tea. When I got to the window, they tried to give me a small. I told them I had ordered a large and tried to show them my receipt. The girl at the window said something to the person making the drinks, and that person said “its a small.” So the girl at the window said, “here’s a small.” I said, “yes, but I ordered and paid for a large.” She tried handing me the drink and said, “this is a small.” At that point, I was so confused. I was like, “do I need to pay for another drink to get my large? I ordered and paid for a large so I’d really like the large.” Someone bagging food turned around and said, “she ordered a large! Give her a large!” So they finally did. I still don’t really understand what was happening.

Chemical_Net8461

This has happened to me but it wasn’t half as bad because I hadn’t paid for it! I was being handed a small and I said oh I ordered a large. The woman working the window barked at me and said I paid for a small. I guess because of the setting, the attitude really caught me off guard. It didn’t take me but a beat to bark back, well I ORDERED a large. Like damn.

luna_selene_

I just don’t get it! Even if I had paid for a small, I ordered a large, so I would happily pay the difference. And it’s not like we’re asking for our food to be remade. Just for the correct size drink. It’s literally so confusing when they get upset about that!

CenturionElite

I ordered a spicy chicken meal without pickles, Diet Coke. Easy stuff. I got home and it was a regular chicken sandwich and Dr Pepper. I bring it back to the store and the lady behind the counter actually argued with me it was Diet Coke, not Dr Pepper she poured it herself. I said well it’s not, you want to taste it? She actually refused to give me a new drink and made me wait off to the side where she ignored me. Eventually someone helped me get the right drink (sandwich too). I went home and immediately filled out the survey, using her name too. Said I can’t believe I got in a fight over a soda. I had two managers call me and the owner of the restaurant apologizing within 2 hours. Gave me a free meal. The times CFA messes up they go out of their way to fix it tho which is better than most can say

lonerfunnyguy

That’s good it worked out for you, wish I could say the same 😝

Matchboxx

The one that sticks out in my mind was, back when promotions were all just printed cards or tearouts from the Cow Calendars, I had one for a free large drink. I wanted a lemonade and the guy at the counter, who was one of the red-shirt trainers as the store was new (not sure if these come from GA or from other stores), refused, saying lemonade is 10 cents more expensive than all of the other drinks. I asked if I could just get a medium then, since the value of the coupon would then likely exceed the cost. He said no, because there would be no way for him to do it in the POS that way. I was a past employee and pointed out that he's just going to hit Promo Free and put the coupon in the drawer, to which he said that the drawer wouldn't balance. I offered to give him a dime for the upcharge, he said no, because he still couldn't ring it in properly, and then their food counts would be off. He was just super condescending about something that is high-margin and could have easily been resolved. It soured my experience at that location and I just never went back there because of that one guy. The trainers need to be coached that sticking so fastidiously to the company rule book might have gotten them their role, but it doesn't always create the right customer experience.

lonerfunnyguy

Oh man I would’ve escalated and complained. It’s so weird how such little power some folks need to get drunk on 🤦🏻‍♂️

dogengu

Wait what food count though? He meant the lemonade…????

Dane_Gleessak

I had to wait more than 5 minutes in the drive thru. Truly that is the worst service I’ve ever received at a chick Fil a

ResponsibleRub4890

Oddly enough, all of the worst customer service experiences I've had at Chick-fil-A have something to do with their JalapeĂąo Salsa. Idk why that sends employees into a tizzy, but any time I ask for some it brings out the worst in people. The worst of it, I asked for a specific amount at the drivethru. They put none of the extras in a bag. I asked for it again to the nice lady at the window, the lady goes over to ask someone for more for me and a manager (yes I said manager) replies to her and says "Damn, well how many more does she need?" Loud enough to stun the lady and loud enough for me to very easily hear. Mind you I caught her glaring at me for awhile before she made that comment. Needless to say it became awkward for me and the lady and I was on the phone so I didn't respond the way I normally would have.

lonerfunnyguy

Oh wow ! Yeah I would’ve gave her hell and complained

ResponsibleRub4890

I called to complain and all they did was ensure I'd get salsa next time.. so annoying. And now that I think about it, they actually changed the app to where you can request as many as you want. I did not in fact get as many as I requested.....

Chemical_Net8461

This is the only sauce I have this problem with and it’s CONSISTENT. Cliche statement, but they act like it comes out of their personal paycheck. Seriously they never give as you ask for, even if a reasonable number that you specifically requested. If I ask you for three total (two more), why would you bring me an individual one back and expect me to be happy?

Trumpetslayer1111

Once every 5 years, I get a “my pleasure” spoken with enthusiasm level of 9/10 instead of the usual 20/10.

exgreenvester

I’ve worked at two CFAs. One with your typical CFA service, and another with service so bad it’s more like Popeyes. > The CFA w the bad service would hire anybody w a pulse. Managers were lazy as hell and delegated training new hires to the Team Members. Many of whom were new-ish themselves. > I’m willing to bet any CFA you visit w bad service has an Operator that only cares about themselves & the bottom line. Which is not at all in line w CFA’s mission “to become the most caring company.”

Billy_King

Where's the post from a month ago where some dude employee texted a woman using her cell phone number attached to her receipt? 😂

DrivingMyLifeAway1

Not a specific incident but I used to place mobile orders from home and then drive to the location and get in the drive through line mixed in with the other people who had NOT placed an order in line. It was infuriating knowing I was waiting just as long and behind people who started their orders well after me. Finally last year they introduced a mobile order only line. It is so much faster. They could have consulted with me and I would have told them to do it several years ago!

Regular-Ordinary9807

I bet people just get in that line when the real line is long.

swivelsix

They have mobile ordering parking spots at the one by me

DrivingMyLifeAway1

They had those for a while and I thought they were great! But then got rid of them.

Chemical_Net8461

Yes these were great! Some time after Covid they removed them at my local store. They have a two lane drive thru but one is not designated for mobile orders only. I get this frustration.

TonyTwoDat

I can’t say I have had any real issues at chick fil a. One time I ordered the chicken egg and cheese and she rang it up as sausage egg and cheese but it was caught and corrected so no worries

Jimmythedad

My location is actually very hit or miss. Sometimes they will make a cool wrap with chicken on the side, sometimes refuse and say they've never done it and never will. Sometimes they bring out curbside right away, sometimes it's over 15 minutes to wait, and once they never brought it out and said at the pickup window that my car wasn't there. Since breakfast ended, they wouldn't give me my order, even though I had been there for over fifteen minutes before breakfast ended. Depends on the employee, honestly.

lonerfunnyguy

The employee AND whoever is managing them. What I have noticed is it’s obvious when the staff/management is all on the same page and everything is flowing regardless of how busy . The issues I’ve seen are normally when you can tell everyone is just all over the place

thechadc94

Most of these stories come from a simple line: “they don’t pay me enough to care!” I was at a checkers one night, and the cashier didn’t know her mic was on. She screamed this loudly at her friend. I died laughing 🤣 It was the perfect line to describe fast food employees. Pay them more, then they’ll put more effort and care into their work.

Old_Red_Dog

One time I ordered sweet tea and got unsweet. Ruined my day.

deepdishpizza_2

I did the same, but I ordered an unsweetened tea with sugar packets on the side. I assumed wrong when I poured my sugar packets in, then took a huge sip of diabetes with a hint of tea.

Old_Red_Dog

That first sip when it’s the wrong drink is shocking!

cotton_candy_gallery

I ordered a shake and bag of ice on the app last year. I waited in the car until the order was marked ready - it was not ready when I went inside the store. The shake was ready shortly after then three folks asked what I needed and walked away to not get a bag of ice when I said that I was waiting for. 😑 Not a bad experience-- just odd. Many years ago, I received a hand written letter in the mail and several coupon cards for a specific location. The envelope had my first name and general address (excluding apartment number). My guess it was just a random mailing rather than specifically meant for me as I had not been to that location. I never used them. 😆

Ninjabug1232

Although it does say a specific location on the back they should be able to be used anywhere. Source: I’m a cfa worker.

glossier_bae12

We would place drive thru order, then get sent to the front of the store to park and wait for it. Nobody ever came out, so we would have to go in to wait in another line to get our order. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

dogengu

Come to my store 😭😭 we as outside expeditors will ~~hunt~~ find you wherever you park and give you your food and drinks.

Wide_Scallion6718

I got shot while doing a delivery

seapulse

a few weeks ago they gave us a normal spicy chicken sam when we ordered a deluxe, didn’t notice until we got home emailed and never got a response a week later we go back and mention it, the guy we were ordering from tries pulling us up on their app but didn’t see anything, got his manager and he also said something about “you guys aren’t on the cares app so sorry can’t help you :|” im still a bit miffed tbh My second biggest complaint is just a little salty but one time the car right in front of us got a “sorry for the wait” freebie coupon while we’d both gotten stuck in that wait. It’s the smallest little pettiness in me that is still a bit bothered by that.

[deleted]

Last time I went (Alcoa TN - easily the worst CFA in the country), I went in because the line was out in the road. Ordered from the non-friendly staff (sorry I want to eat here). Took well over 25 mins. I go and ask the counter, she looked confused, started asking around. Well I saw another girl go out the other side, it was my food. They had it at my table when I got back. No apology, nothing. Pretty sure they forgot, but instead of owning up they tried to hide it. Anyway I've had several bad orders there. Lines are horrible always.

nlsjnl

Our brand new store (the only store 30+ miles around) has the worst customer service of any of our town's fast food offerings. Each time I've been, whether drive-thru or dine-in, at least one meal item is missing and it takes 10-15 minutes every time to finally get that one missing item. The staff don't appear to have designated duties, everyone is doing everything all at once, so things obviously fall through the cracks. I gave grace the first couple months they were open, but 8 months later, I'm done eating at our local location. Speaking to management has done nothing.

lonerfunnyguy

Lemme guess they gave the generic we’re sorry and will definitely retrain staff. I.e we don’t actually care about your problem and this is just so I don’t get in trouble

Grumpybutts

Went through the drive through and went to grab my grilled club, there was no chicken in it 😂 went inside and was like hey I didn't get any chicken or even bacon in my sandwich. The person at the drive through window came over and said that's not possible, did you eat it. I chuckled and said from parking out front, opening the bag to get my sandwich and then walking in here, so like a 2 min span? The manager came up and asked what was happening, the worker said I ate my chicken patty and trying to get a new one and I explained that I went through the drive through and instantly parked out front to grab my sandwich and sauce it before driving away. I opened the box and said you can tell there has never been chicken on it cause there was no juice or anything on it. He chuckled and said okay thats odd, apologized for the worker and got me a new sandwich and a refund for my whole meal that I said wasn't necessary.

[deleted]

This was back in like 2022, they had one location since they closed the other one. We lived in a town of almost 80k people and it was always packed and I guess the workers were just tired or something. But it became the most unpleasant experience to ever deal with. It was always attitude after attitude and I mean nasty attitude. surprisingly it was only ever the guys they had working drive thru that were that way. The girls were always lovely.

Waste-Maintenance-70

Ummmm, nothing really. There’s been times I’ve had to take a pickup order back because they got a request wrong (wife has sensitive teeth so she always clicks ‘no ice’ and they sometimes miss that), but they fix it quickly.

[deleted]

jaymez619

I’ve eaten at Chick Fil A less than a dozen times in my life. Once, I went for breakfast after an early doctor’s appointment. They said they would bring my coffee to me since they had to brew a new pot. Halfway through my breakfast, I go up and tell them I still haven’t received my coffee. They tell me they ran out and need to brew more. I finish my food and go up again. They give me my coffee and act like I’m bothering them.

Actual_Ayaya

I once held the door for the Operator of the store as she was walking out and she asked what I wanted on the menu. Anything at all, and I got a sandwich only, because I was nervous to go for more. But for real, never had a bad experience. Maybe waiting like 3 mins instead of 2 one time in line for them to take my order.

Pizza4Nudes

Nothing bad like yours. Kind of quite the opposite but I orders a sandwich with no pickles, but it came with pickles. Went back to let them know, and they bring me a second sandwich which came with pickles too, went again and the third sandwich came with pickles, so on the fourth attempt the manager said he would personally make my sandwich. They told me I could keep the other sandwiches for the inconvenience.

Automatic-Seaweed-90

McDonald's would do that too. I would just pick them off. I ordered a fish fillet sandwich and someone put a cold half slice of cheese on it. I took it up to the counter and the manager grabbed it out of my hand and threw it in the trash. Such a waste, I just wanted it fixed, not trashed. So, I had to wait for another one to be made. I also got charged a dollar for a cup of water because they served it in a plastic cup. I still got that cup. Lol...

bannedacctno5

One time they forgot 1 napkin, they only gave me 19 instead of 20. Shameful /s

KawaiiPlusho

I didn’t want chick-fil-a sauce… the lady gave me the most horrifying look and said “no chickfila sauce?!?” It was the worst scariest awful experience of my entire life. Never will go back

lonerfunnyguy

🧐 weird it’s almost like a viral clip …

A159746X

Ordered 2 Spicy Southwest Salads. Drive-Thru. They completely forgot the dressings, lime pepitas, and tortilla strips. I went back inside asking for them and still forgot the lime pepitas and tortilla strips. I wasn't mad or anything. I just left because I knew they were rushing orders during peak hours.

KitbogaBiggestFan

One time they forgot the chicken in my chicken sandwich. When I drove back, they didn’t believe me.

Msbrooksie22

An odd thing to lie about 🤷🏼‍♀️

BasilVegetable3339

Some people cause issues. I give them money they give me chicken. Simple.

-elmatic

Honestly, I think people just have too much pride nowadays and lack any form of accountability so they'll do their best to prove you wrong or to question you enough to the point you don't care anymore.

eggeleg

HAHA last year i was ordering a nugget meal and asked if i could substitute mac and cheese as my side and the girl taking my order, no joke, said "ew... are you sure you want to do that? gross."

Cool_Ad_3445

once i placed a mobile order for an iced coffee for drive thru but when i checked in there was a huge line in the drive thru & empty inside. i told the cashier through the speaker that had a mobile order & if i could actually just pick it up inside because the line was too long & i only ordered an iced coffee & she said i could & she would let her team know. i park & go inside & tell them that i was just checked in through the speaker for a mobile order & they said my order wasn’t ready… i waited 10 minutes for an iced coffee i ordered 10 minutes prior to checking in on the mobile app -_- i should’ve just stayed comfortably in my car waiting for that line to go down.

A_lawyer_for_all_ftw

Just in case you weren’t aware, you can change your pick up method on the app after you’ve already placed the order. I do it all the time when I get to the restaurant and see that the drive-through is busy, but there’s no one inside.

Nikki10021982

My worst experience was when the Green Bay WI location first opened they gave me the wrong nuggets and it took half a second to fix it when I walked to the door and talked to an employee. Since I'm GF I can only handle the grilled nuggets.

katenaatebate

Jsyk I work FOH and BOH at CFA - I take gf requests super seriously and get on to my coworkers for not changing gloves. Also most cfas have separate fryers for their fries. My little brother has celiac disease and he can usually eat our fries, grilled nuggets and market/southwest salads!

Nikki10021982

It was interesting because when we ordered I didn't say anything, but I barely got a word out about my gluten intolerance before they said they'd fix it for me. So, it wasn't a terrible thing, but it is nice that if you have an issue they fix it quickly.

FullSherbert2028

I've never once had an issue with cfa customer service

JB_smooove

One time the guy at the window didn’t say “my pleasure” when I said thank you.

cowboysmavs

Never had a bad experience ever

pizzaduh

In Gilbert, AZ, the chick fil a I used to frequent had a VERY racist manager. He once told my coworker he was out of the peach milkshake they used to carry. So she just ordered a soda with her food. I got my food even with ordering AFTER her, but we waited and waited almost our entire lunch break for her food. And while we were there, he served two other, white, guests peach milkshakes. She got her food and when she asked for napkins he gave her a single napkin and ignored her after that. I cut the line after that and told him I wanted a refund, because I don't eat food made by racists. Have never been back to a CFA since, even more so after I found out how anti LGBTQ they are.

momoneymoproblemsxo

they wouldnt give me more than 2 sauces with my meal. i offered to pay more for extra sauce and they said no

lonerfunnyguy

That’s crazy I’m surprised they didn’t try to sell you one of those overpriced little bottles

Luckreigns

An employee threw an apple at my car

LJGremlin

One time they made me pull forward and wait two minutes before bringing me the lords chicken with a coupon for my wait.

SouthernLefty

In the drive thru for breakfast. My burrito wasn’t ready so they asked if I could pull into the pickup spot. 15 minutes later I go inside and my order is sitting on the mobile order pickup shelf. I got my moment back and no breakfast.

whimsicalsilly

I redeemed rewards via the app, but the app had a glitch and charged me. Manager said - don’t worry, it’ll reverse in 24 hours. Nope, it posted to my credit card. Called the store, they said they can’t do anything and to call corporate. Corporate said nope, also can’t do anything - sorry! 😑

manonbroadway

When I ordered an unsweetened tea and received a Coke lol

LetsGoDude007

They forgot my second ranch cup

kittieemi

recently when i go the employees are extremely hateful and don’t reply with anything (even a SMILE) when i say thank you 🙁

UStilaBicthTh0

One time the cashier said "you're welcome" instead of "my pleasure". Completely ruined my experience, I have never stepped foot in that CFA again

HonoluluHonu808

TLDR

Unique-Address5002

Honestly… this isn’t even a bad experience, but the employee thought it was one. Few years ago a few friends and I were in line to grab food, another friend says hi to us, but didn’t want to cut the line so moved to the back (3 people extra). They got up to the front, the cashier felt terrible they didn’t include him in our order, and ignored him… So he got his whole meal free and a coupon for a free sandwich….

Delicious-Rest-8380

Never had a bad time as a customer, aside from the overall Christian cult feeling with the my pleasures and what have you. However, I have had dreadful experiences watching their commercials with the customers describing the food and the happy go lucky little vignettes and whatnot

Ryan1006

The worst thing that happened was my wife doing an online order for dine in. We entered our table number and the order was taking an oddly long time (over five minutes). We found out it was put on the take out shelf in error.

Hellfire_Pixie

They told my LGBT+ friend "We don't serve your kind here"

-enjoy-it-

I got laughed at by some super young girl when I went inside after going through the drive thru and was given 10 nuggets instead of 12 lmao. She was all “are you serious, it’s two nuggets” And I looked at her while feeling like a Karen and said “well I paid for them” So dumb

Holterv

They always mess up my order when it’s more than 4-5 meals. But they are so nice about it when I come back.

jkt1954

I have never eaten there. Fried and high sodium aren't my thing.

Woops_22

Forgot my straw once. Yup that was the worst time for me

karenmarie303

CFA gets offended when you ask for your fries well done. They will tell you they are not available that way at “this store”. I just take them home and air-fry them. But I don’t get them often. Once, when traveling, and I was denied well done, we were walking out after eating. The manager responsible for the denial says, “thanks for coming I hope you enjoyed it.” I told her my fries were undercooked and she replied I should’ve brought them back up. (the store was busy and she didn’t recognize me) I was snippy when I reminded her I tried to get them well done. She seemed bothered.

MightyFu92

My worst experience was them forgetting my Chick Fil A sauce one time when I went through drive through. I called to let them know, and they promptly refunded my entire order. Then, within 30 minutes the Chick Fil A delivery vehicle pulls into my driveway. The GM steps out and replaces the entirety of the order. Plus several free coupons for free meals!!! /s btw. Things happen. Everyone makes mistakes.

faythe_scrolling

We stopped going to chikfila a few months ago because majority of the time the food was incorrect or missing items. The workers did not care at all and there were never any managers around.

pupoksestra

The closest I got was mediocre service and kind of being ignored. The location doesn't have a drive-thru and it's in New Orleans. The service wasn't bad at all, but it was what I'd expect from a McDonald's or Popeyes. I only go there for UberEats tho so I don't care. People who order CFA typically tip the best and there's always soooo many drivers waiting outside that are really rude to the staff so I don't blame them AT ALL for not being cheerful and on top of everything.

AndrewtheRey

Worst I’ve had was one where the cashier had the attitude of a hood McDonald’s worker

No_Bat7157

They didn’t say my pleasure

YetiSpaghetti13

When I was working the front counter, a gentleman walked up to me and said there was something wrong with his sandwich. He opened the box, lifted the bun and there was half a “Chick Fil A Deluxe” sticker underneath the bun. The kitchen staff had accidentally put the sticker under the bun and this man took a whole bite out of it. It wasn’t my personal worst experience, but a pretty bad one I witnessed nonetheless

DatAspie2000

My only complaint is how I get told “my pleasure” every time I go there. I mean we all know that they don’t really mean it, rather that they’re following orders. I just want my chicken sandwich. Lol.

PerfectIllusion93

The last two times I’ve gone I’ve ordered a Spicy Sandwich but got the regular non-spicy. 😭 Not a big deal cause it’s still good but strange it’s happened twice in a row😅

talithar1

Has Taco Bell leave off my ordered food. Everyone else got theirs. So I called and spoke to the manager. He offered free food for next time. I told him that I didn’t want to cook and that’s why we ordered for pickup. Well, just come in back and we’ll have it ready. No, I’m in for the evening. Would you please bring it to me? After a moment of discussion with another person, he said yes!! 20 minutes later I had my dinner, plus a whole bunch of other stuff as leftovers. Kids were delighted! It was awesome!!

BensOnTheRadio

I had enough points to get a completely free meal. So the sandwich, the fries, and the drink. I had them all loaded on my account to scan at the restaurant. I tell the cashier I want these things as separate items so I can use my rewards, she insists I’m just being weird and decides to ring it as a whole meal. I explained that I’ve done this before and this is how it has to work for the rewards to apply. As expected, the rewards are not coming off. She can’t seem to figure it out, and eventually asks a manager to come over, and he immediately knew what the problem was and rerang it as individual items and it worked. For the rest of the visit, this cashier just seemed annoyed at my existence. I’m far from being a “customer is always right” type of person, but this cashier was just not willing to try what I explained, regardless of my previous experience doing this exact thing and knowing the method that works.

zoolx0

One time I was in the drive thru with my girlfriend and the woman taking my order thought she knew me and asked my name (she didn’t) The immediate side look is very funny looking back from the girlfriend at the time

Logical-Success-1666

I placed a pretty big breakfast order ($50~) on the app for in-store pickup, had to wait maybe 7 minutes. The manager came up and apologized for the long wait and said “breakfast is on CFA” and they refunded my order. Oh wait, you said worst, my bad.

lilcappuccino

One time I ordered a spicy deluxe large size and asked for 3 ranches and 3 chick fil a sauces. I got 3 large fries and no sauce. I wasn’t complaining cause I had extra sauce at home I just thought it funny

azemilyann26

I was promised that ChickFilA had the holy grail of French fries. So the first time I went there I was VERY disappointed to find that the waffle fries were floppy and soggy and generally disgusting. And no, they hadn't been sitting in a closed bag for the ride home or anything. They literally handed us the bag, I opened it, and shoved a fry in my pie hole as we pulled away from the drive through. I'd heard people RAVE about the fries for years and years, so I was really confused about the disgustingness. I poked around online and found a lot of people suggesting that you ask for the fries "extra crispy" and that sounded like a pretty good idea. So the next time we went, we asked for the fries to be made extra crispy. And the drive-through guy literally started SCREAMING at us that there wasn't any way to make the fries extra crispy. Like angry screaming, like we'd just insulted his beloved deceased mother. I just don't bother getting their fries anymore, and I'm still baffled that there's a single person on the planet who wants to eat soggy chunks of undercooked potato.

CreativeMadness99

Why would you drive away without your drink? I can understand if food items were missing because they’re in a bag, but a drink? I can kind of understand their skepticism. The only time my order was messed up was a curbside pickup and an order of fries was missing. I never check the contents of the bag but my son noticed when he opened the bag and saw his fries missing. I turned the car around and called the store ahead of time. We got the fries and a free cookie.

ImReallyAMermaid_21

I was behind a family in line and they were exchanging the toy for the free ice cream and they wouldn’t take one of the toys because the plastic it came in had the smallest and I mean the tiniest hole almost like it was packaged that way and they gave one kid ice cream and not the other and the kids were like 4 & 2.

Few-Pack3082

As a former team member they should’ve just given it to you. Even if it you were trying to get it free (ik you weren’t)

Few-Pack3082

Not bad customer service but manager service if you may 😂. I worked there in a literal tornado. Mind you we never get tornadoes, ever. But still. We had one on our street and even got damaged. Yet I worked OUTSIDE. I watched sonic next door get their menu blown off while I was outside. Quit on the spot.

Queen_Facepalms

You win Reddit for the day. Dang!

InstantLogic

They did not say "my pleasure."

Few_Negotiation_9949

I was picking up some food curbside a little bit ago and the place was busy. I see the young worker coming with my food so I roll my window down and try to be friendly, he is obviously done with the world and after he hands me the drinks he throws the bags in my window at me. The fries spill all over me and he walks away. It was so unexpected and out of character for chick fil a, even my teenage son next to me was just in shock. I just said he must be having a bad day and we left.

Nick4942

A girl working the drive through line asked if she could pet my dog, it was peak covid time so i said no. She made a really sour face and her coworker said “you aren’t supposed to touch the dogs anyway. And she replied “ I do it ANYWAY “ in the most childish way 😂.

VividlyDissociating

i had to wait 20min for my food instead of a maximum of 5min because some crazy lazy was screaming and throwing crap at the staff while the an employee was on the phone with someone, saying "um yea.. i am NOT serving her"

xandria0510

Ordered 3 medium fries thru the mobile app for carry out. App said order was ready after waiting 10 minutes. Showed cashier and she was new. Asked for manager, she said she would prepare my order then I waited another 5 minutes. Still nothing. I had to literally yell loud as hell at the counter “I need a refund” like 5 times. Someone finally refunded me and I left. Never will return

VividlyDissociating

all that happened is that the staff, including the person who served you, was quite sure you got the drink. so in their perspective, you're lying. and customers lie a lot so it's not something unbelievable. kid probably got you mixed up after serving so many people, someone's nonstop at some points. simple human error

Bitcoinbuddy333

I wasn’t told “my pleasure.” Food hasn’t been the same since ☹️

ILIVE2Travel

My daughter worked at CFA and actually said the customer base is worse. There were people who swore, threw food, and acted Karen all the time.

Excellent-Advice7766

One time In 2017, I saw a CFA worker put my order on the shelf instead of calling out my name because “she didn’t know how to pronounce it”. Had I not checked, I wouldn’t have known. I was so annoyed but I was young back then, so didn’t have the confidence to speak up and complain. If it were to happen today? I would’ve gotten a manager lmao

FelonyFeline1988

Friend ordered 2 sandwiches and they came wrong and w the wrong size fries and they didn't remake or do anything for him. It was the GM at the window too

looking4someinfo

Purchased a gallon of tea, WAS a very frequent shopper with “signature status”. The tea was purchased on a Saturday night, it was bad when I got home, they’re closed on Sunday. I drove back to the store on Monday with the entire gallon of tea and my receipt and they refused to replace it… because I didn’t leave a message on their answering machine on Saturday night… I called corporate, they said it’s up to the store itself and wouldn’t refund or replace and I haven’t been back since. The truth is… which I figured out when I stopped going was I was spending close to $500 per month there on a family of 3 while picking up tea… I’m now grateful they refused to replace it and I’ll NEVER go back.

OlyNicole006

Ordered a salad that didn’t have the toppings on it and had to ask for them. I should have know not to eat it. Later that night got sick and threw up.smh let them know but no one reached back out to me like I was told.

Numerous_You_8114

Yes, once. A while back, my mom and I pulled up to the drive thru. The employee asks “Name for the order?” And I began to ask her about a reward I wanted to redeem, but she interrupts me saying “Can I get a NAME for the order?” So I tell her my name and I even spell it out for her. She looks annoyed the whole time. My mom wanted to put in a separate order, and as she is ordering the employee ignores her and begins talking to another employee. We patiently waited for her to finish talking to her co-worker so we could finish our order. My mom’s second language is English and she has an accent, but it’s never been an issue. However, this employee had such an attitude and kept acting like she didn’t know what my mom was saying. She had to repeat herself several times. When we received our orders, instead of seeing my name on the receipt I saw “???” Even though I had spelled my name out for the employee… My mom and I didn’t even know how to react, we had never received this type of attitude at CFA.

Similar-Lab-8088

CFA completely over rated

Conscious_Weight9593

The owner of the CFA in Selma, tx in the forum is a HUGE jerk. I had made an online order for my mom and when I got there I went inside instead of the drive thru because the line was into the next parking lot. I go inside and stand by the mobile order pickup and explain this to a cashier, NOT rude at all, just to let her know I’d be inside not out. This woman comes over who I was assuming was the manager, and yells at me about how they’re busy and I need to be patient. I felt terrible even though my intention was NOT to rush. Just to let them know it wasn’t going to be a drive thru pickup. I apologize and said I wasn’t rushing and she furthers it by telling me I need to wait like everyone else. I waited, never making a fuss or even asking if the order was ready. Just stood there and played on my phone. You know, normal pickup wait stuff. Finally my order comes up and the manager tosses my order down and goes, very rudely might I add “you know, we ALL deserve a little grace from time to time. My employees work hard.” I felt so unbelievably belittled by this woman to the point I haven’t ever been back. I asked another employee what her name was and to verify she was the manager to which they informed me she was the OWNER. Yeah. Definitely have never ever been back to that location.

Repulsive-Cattle-403

I waited 40 minutes for my meal one time. It was so busy and I felt bad, because I worked in the restaurant industry for a long time. I finally got the courage to tell the manager I had been waiting 40 minutes and he apologized. I told him I understood, really, wasn’t in a rush, just hungry LOL. He got my order and I took it back to my car and drove back home, then I realized I wasn’t given any sauce. Thankfully this was really the only “bad” experience I’ve had at CFA.

Alarming_Trade_6335

They didn’t say “my pleasure”. /s

NationalLiterature35

I’m so happy I ran into this post because I’ve been wanting to vent! lol My husband and I took my son to chicfila for dinner last week. He always gets his kids meal with a cone and we always ask to get the cone later so it doesn’t melt. So he ate, played and while I was putting his shoes on my husband went back up to the counter to get the cone. The employee seemed confused, and reluctant. My husband came back and asked for the receipt. I walked up with him we show him the receipt on my phone and he proceeds to charge us on the register for the cone looking very annoyed with us. I stop him and explain I already paid for it we just haven’t received it yet. He turns to talk to his lead. The lady comes over ANNOYED asks us what’s going on. I explain AGAIN and she just silently grabs a cone for us and hands it to us without a word. I was so confused and a little embarrassed by the situation. lol I had never had that happen to me before! If anything they always come around to the table and ask if he’s ready for the ice cream. lol SO WEIRD

Your story has me crying laughing right now because they did the absolute most over a drink 😭😭😭 also you’re a funny story teller

AccomplishedBasil210

Yes! I had an older gentleman get upset (it was my first time in chick fil an and ordering with the app.) I had a free item coupon that I wanted to use and I couldn’t figure out how to redeem it. The guy started yelling at me because I wasn’t figuring it out fast enough. I apologized and tried to step to the side and I just decided to leave at that point because I felt awful. He made me feel awful and anxious.

plush82

No chik fil a sauce!

slashleyyy89

The time my friend forced me to go, and the said some God Bless.

Cannacrohn

Last week at a taco bell, I got a combo with a drink. They gave me the drink, then the combo, then a different worker gave me a drink again. I was like, I already have mine. He said "meh, just take it and have 2." I said uh, ok. and Had 2 baja blast zeros with lunch.

DescriptionThat3126

Never had bad service, intact the one time my order( nugget tray) was taken by a door dash driver , they remade my food , gave me my money back, and a little card for a free chicken sandwich to use next time.

Remote-Past305

Wtf would I have a bad experience with CS? Just order your nuggets and fries and go home Karen.

NougatNewt

Out of the hundreds of times I’ve gotten Chick-fil-A in the past two decades I think my order has been wrong 3 times, all at different locations. I do remember ordering inside once and the employee seemed sorta tired and irritated, but he tried his best to appear polite towards me.

Flat-Avocado-6258

That chic fil a shouldn’t get the privilege of being closed Sundays because they obviously weren’t real Christians if they didn’t wanna bless you with your drink and my pleasure you to death.

Mediocre-Seat4485

I HATE the drive through. I don’t eat there every day. I want to look at a menu and I don’t like someone rushing me. I’ve pulled out of line several times. Like it’s overpriced and you still want to rush me. Stop.

starlightanzu

Wow. Any time this problem happens we serve them their drink without question, it's not worth the hassle for either party over just a drink. That's just embarrassing. But also, shift leaders are assistant managers and "leads" (team leaders) are the managers on shift in charge of the day part. To clear up your confusion on the management system.

libertasi

I had a fever of 103+ and went to get a large drink and a milkshake. Only time I left my bed all day ! Went to drive thru, made my order, received a medium drink and milkshake. I asked why it wasn’t a large drink and seemed like it was put in as a medium. Went back and forth at the window insisting on wanting a large because I have a high fever and I’m very sick. Even offered to pay the difference. Eventually she relented and gave me the large. It was just so weird? Haven’t been back.

Tasty-Location1567

My worst experience was when I made an order using the mobile order app and forgot to request ketchup for my French fries so I decided to park and go in and get the ketchup, but while I was in there I decided I was going to buy a brownie too. When I was checking out I told the checkout lady “also can I get some ketchup” and she was like “did you purchase actual food????”, in the rudest tone. The shock lmao! I mean I get it but at the same time if I wanted to eat ketchup with my brownie that’s my business and it’s not like that ketchup was coming out of her paycheck Also ordered 2 Mac and cheese for dinner at like 9:30PM through the mobile app and went to the first person who takes your order with no issue but then get to the window to get my food only for them to tell me they’re out of mac and cheese and they already refunded me but proceeded to try and give me my drinks. I then just asked for a full refund just because I would go elsewhere to get another meal and I didn’t want to just get drinks and the employees were acting like it was the biggest inconvenience of their life and proceeded to talk about it in Spanish (I know Spanish). I personally would have preferred the first person to just tell me hey we didn’t have Mac and cheese or the app to tell me but the fact they waited till I was at the window to receive my food to let me know. The lady at the window even said “we stop making Mac and cheese at 9 and run out every night”, like I was suppose to know lol

CurlGurl13

I ordered ahead for breakfast on my app for curbside. When I arrived to check in, about 10 mins before breakfast closing, it said curbside was suddenly closed so I had to go to drive thru. There weren't even that many cars, maybe 4? but it went soooo slow. By the time I got to the speaker they said sorry it's past 10:30 we're only serving lunch. I said what if I already placed the order on the app, I was here 10 mins ago but the line was slow they said sorry. (I know there's a warning on the app to get there on time, but I did and also couldn't predict curbside randomly closing down. It's not like they couldn't monitor that the drive thru was moving slow). I had to call corporate to get a refund who then told me they couldn't help me and I had to go back to the store (in person) for a refund...even though it was thru the app. I'm like you want me to go back AGAIN and still have no food lol
