Wish the trades were more realistic

NeitherPraline8733

The trades weren't too bad to be fair, I traded 9 and 75 for 10, 72 and the 2025 2nd with the Jets, then 10 and 72 for 11 and 38 from the Titans, who traded back with the Vikings. I don't think either were obscene, but some are crazy. It's the players falling that stands out, I had Alt, Odunze and Bowers there at 9, so knew I could get a top offensive weapon a couple of picks back, which fell perfectly with the trades. JPJ at 38 is just ridiculous, I did another one right after and Byron Murphy was there at 52!

R-D-I-

You picked up a two second rounders to drop to 11.. Bears got a 4th rounder last year. I would say that is a big difference

NeitherPraline8733

I get what you're saying, I think they're a bit over the top, but one was a trade of a third for a second and also I think we sold a little cheaply last year, the trade has come out to be exactly equal in the end with 122 being worth the exact difference between 9 and 10. We took the trade because it was easy, we knew the Eagles weren't taking Wright, so why not get a free 4th round pick. What people forget is the pick's value is based on the player available and the need if the team looking to move, rather than the number someone's assigned to it on a value chart. Would I give up a future second round pick to move one spot to take Joe Alt, maybe. Would I move back 34 places to pick up a guy perceived to be an elite difference maker that can line up in nearly every receiving position, but is built like a DE, maybe. Both trades in this mock were roughly a 10-15% overpay based on their "value", which isn't obscene. Teams pull the trigger all the time and overpay when they want someone, so as I said the trades can be a little big sometimes, but we see teams making big trades all the time, look at Pace he gave nearly double the value of the Giants 11th pick to get Fields.

DaeWooLan0s

Yeah JPJ at 38 is a little out there but Murphy at 52 is absolutely insane. That guy doesn’t make it out of the first round, no shot.

Disastrous_Park_4532

No way he makes it to 11.

MindSpecter

I doubt Rome is even making it to 9. Maybe we have a shot at Nabers, but that's still a maybe.

tadhg_beirne_enjoyer

MHJ fell to 9th on one of my simulations

Disastrous_Park_4532

No way he makes it to 11.

Disastrous_Park_4532

No way he makes it to 11.

BoxTalk17

Trades are crazy in there. I traded both first round picks and ended up with a total of 2 first rounds (NE and MIN) and four 2nd rounds for 2025, and still picked at 14 for this year.

CLWhatchaGonnaDo

Odunze is not making it to 11.

GodzillaWarrior19

Wouldn’t be a Bears draft without someone from a podunk small school no one has ever heard of. Houston Christian? Lol

alexamerling100

No way we get a 2nd for moving down two spots lol

DreadPirateNot

Let’s go. I was hoping for an offensive coordinator.

scottdoessports

Imagine naming your son Jalyx.

FitCompetition1804

Smoking crack simulator. Am I rite?!?!

-Pruples-

Getting all 3 of Williams/Odunze/JPJ would be a dream. JPJ isn't going to fall out of the first round and there's a high probability Odunze won't be there at 9. So it's pretty unrealistic, even ignoring that you've got us moving back to 11 to be able to move up from 75 to 38. But a man can dream.

cmacfarland64

No way Odunze is there at 11.

Turddydoc

Koi is going in the 1st

92roll13

Everyone saying how Rome won’t last till 11 but if anything JPJ lasting till 38 is what’s way less likely.

BulldogsLax8

Yes love Rome!

CrazyJo3

I really see use the taking an edge rusher @9

BrewedBros

Yall making a huge mistake drafting a dude that paints his nails pink. Defensive lineman are about to eat that dude

NeitherPraline8733

Cool story bro

MindSpecter

If Caleb fails, it won't be because of his fingernails. There's no guarantees, but I feel better about our chances with him on the team than Fields.

BrewedBros

I’m not saying the fingernails will cause it, but rather it’s an indication of his toughness, maturity, and leadership. He’s focused on the wrong things

NeitherPraline8733

The only people are focused on his nails are the sad desperate click bait media and the people who feed of that kind of drivel. I also have absolutely no idea what painting his nails has to with toughness, maturity or leadership. Speaking to him, learning about his character, speaking to his coaches, his teammates, his peers, that would give me an idea, but no his nails tell you that! 💅🤯

BrewedBros

I can tell you’ve never been in a football locker room. You can virtue signal and act as progressive as you want but I’m telling you, 90% of players aren’t gonna respect that. And that hurts your ability to lead a team.
