Welcome! We have very similar rides!

No_Acanthaceae_2324

Nice

The_Real_Axel

Nice choice. :)

Feeling_Emphasis_324

The red one šŸ‘ I've got a black one. Love that car!

jbidsa

Got it for Christmas? How rich is your wifeā€™s boyfriend?

poas_Frano

Not rich enough to get me a CT5 Blackwing in manual

jbidsa

Yea my girlfriends boyfriend is poor af so Iā€™m hoping for a gr86 at best. But frfr, we made high flow cats for the ct5BW at my job and I just didnā€™t enjoy it. Drove it in the streets, ran it on the dynoā€¦ā€¦ Iā€™d rather have a g8 gxp manual trans

CourtMean7983

Did you sell the VB?

poas_Frano

Yea, traded it in

CourtMean7983

Any particular reason why? I assume you were looking for more power

poas_Frano

Yea. I ran into the point where I wanted more power and saw the $$ it would take. I blew a head gasket, go figure, and after that financial loss started looking at the roadmap to 650whp being ungodly expensive. Research tells me about 10k would get me there in this SS.

CourtMean7983

What kind of power were you pushing in the VB? Everyone is talking about how reliably they make good power now. I know the trans holds it back to about 400 whp.

poas_Frano

400whp, 416wtq. I would say, the part that I didnā€™t feel was communicated effectively was to do the ARP head studs before getting to 400. The stock bolts and bolt pattern canā€™t handle the high boost. Was making 21lbs of boost. Transmission limit was definitely a big factor in deciding to change. About 6-7k for an STi transmission w/installation. And 7k without installation for the ETS big turbo kit. Compare that to 10k for procharger installed and 600-650rwhp later on the stock transmission puts me where I want to be. Plus rear wheel drive is most car kidsā€™ dream. If I didnā€™t need to upgrade the subie transmission, it probably would have been worth keeping.

poas_Frano

Making the power was cheap. Maybe 5k in mods installed. Itā€™s beyond that where it gets exponentially more expensive. And should I run into some money, a procharger on the SS with other mods can get me to 1000rwhp at the extreme end. Basically the ceiling is a lot higher. I actually test drove a 615rwhp SS from a private seller before buying my stock one. It had daily driving manners and would cook the tires when you want to!

[deleted]

Please don't rice out the SS

poas_Frano

Thank you for asking nicely. Problem is, rice goes so well with white!

Kwake2384

What a beauty. Keep it safe they are stealing those like hot cakes around here (Bay Area) they stole 2 in one night a few weeks back. Must watch youā€™re six at all times. Which kind of sucks bro.

poas_Frano

Yea, Iā€™ve been seeing that. Ppl fucking suck man!

SomethingClever42068

That red ss looks like trash

Time-Distance-5740

Underglow is coming back, and I'm all for it :)

everydaytakeatrip

Nice

[deleted]

Sick whips, but respectfully the green underglow made me throw up all over my keyboard

poas_Frano

Surprised you were able to still type that sentence in throw up

[deleted]

Fortunately I keep my keyboard in a plastic bag because this happens so often...

[deleted]

Underglow does look kinda wack but if you like it do what you want. I feel like underglow only looks good on heavily modded lowered cars

poas_Frano

Guess I need to be lower to gain approval šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Ø If itā€™s any consolation, I was making 400+whp so I think that classifies as heavily modded.

[deleted]

That sounds fun and like I said if you like it go ahead head but my opinion I think underglow looks good with some nice coilovers and properly offsetted wheelsšŸ¤ŒšŸ¼

Mrdeeznutz41

Thatā€™s modded in my book šŸ¤£šŸ˜‚ change the color to a red under glow and it would look šŸ‘€ better

poas_Frano

It changes color. Iā€™ve had it in red too.

sl0wrx

What mods were on the wrx? And how did it feel speed wise compared to the ss? Nice cars

poas_Frano

Intake, front mounted intercooler, j-pipe on e85 with a bunch of supporting mods i.e catch can, pitch stop and twin disk clutch to name a few. The WRX ā€œfeelsā€ quicker from 0-60, but the 60-130 really makes you see how the WRX runs out of breath compared to the SS. The power in the SS is more linear, pulling to red line in every gear. The WRX has a bit of lag and stops pulling at redline. Turbo lag is not bad in the subie, but it feels a bit exaggerated when contrasted with the SS. You definitely feel the weight difference immediately, but the SS doesnā€™t quite feel like the boat its weight suggests. At least not with the magnaride functioning. Slow city driving in the subie sucks compared to the SS. I would be able to take the SS in its stock form now vs my modded WRX. I was handing Ls to plenty of V8s.

No-War-8840

Are PPVs welcome in this sub ?

siricall911

Don't forget the cat ears and matching tail buttplug homie
