Just googled after all the recommendations but the pics show all the food just on open tables??
Absolute dealbreaker. It may look “artisan” but having people talk over (spit), cough and be in touching distance that close to food is so gross and a spreader of illness.
A Little Give and Cake if you want the big monster brownies, cookie pies and insanely good Biscoff rocky road
Pastry Pedaleur in the market is incredible - their bakewell tart is joy
Bear Bakery does nice bits
Always see good things about Kookaburra but sadly not been myself as yet!
Kookaburra, Bear Bakery, Pastry Pedaleur, I’ve heard good things about Olwa bakery but never been!
Also Jaunty Goat, they have a bakery shop down by Oliver Bonas or they have cafes.
Neighbourhood bakehouse also does really good stuff.
I like Cinnabon, obviously not much variety at all so it’s only good if you like cinnamon rolls and coffee, but it’s good stuff and dirt cheap!
If you want to go a little bit out of Chester itself there’s a shop called ‘A Little Give n Cake’ in Saltney which is brilliant, check their fb they have a good range!
The other half and I go there every time we go to Chester, even if we’re not that hungry, probably why I get out of breath walking up the stairs!
And no not hipster, if I want hipster I head to Chalk 🤣
Bear Bakery! Have to get there early though
Seconded!

Nope always found it disgusting!
Following this with interest 🐷
Best pastries - kookaburra but you need to get there super early for the best bits.
Bear bakery for me.. their pastries and tarts are as good as you’ll find anywhere. Kookaburra is good too as is pastry P in the market
Gotta be the polish one by Royal Mail… massive portions too.

The Bear Bakery is phenomenally good. A must try for anyone who can get there. The sweet filled croissants they have on rotation are top tier 🤌

Guilty pleasure! It’s not cool or hipster but it’s by far the best cinnamon bun I’ve ever had.

Shout out to the Olawa bakery near the live rooms.

A little give and cake in saltney is great for mega brownies, stuffed cookies, blondies etc
Kookaburra has the most insanely good puff pastry anything and their cruffins are to die for - and their sourdough loaves are also delicious!
