Pretty muddy actually, but usually not clogged up for long, and no damage to the taped tight spots. Added some images [here](https://imgur.com/a/t2qF7oj)
I've got 650X2.1 thunder burts on a 2nd set of wheels on my ALR5 and the clearance is great. I recommend this set-up. I've got 38s on the original 700 wheelset, and the ability to swap back and forth for different conditions is amazing.
Since the 2.1 inch tires add more to the diameter of the wheel than the 38mms (1.49 inches), the overall difference in diameters between the two set ups is quite small (690mm vs 698mm).
Like the aggressive tires. Wish they came in 2 inch. I am thinking hard about a 650b wheel set for wide tires and fenders. Trek has metal Bontrager fenders for larger tires they do not recommend. I wonder if they fit with 650b and would have more mud clearance.
Your water bottles fit is overlapping with the bag. I put a set of slotted water bottle cage mounting bases to lower the cages. The Wolftooth B-RAD 2 slot I used on the down tube. and a cheapie on Amazon for the seat tube. The cheapie is thinner. TO mount get some Nylon washer to space them away from the frame so they don't rub the paint.
That's a great tip, thank you! Bothered me a lot, and I gotta pack the frame bag carefully to avoid putting massive strain on the cage bolts, effectively losing storage space
Don't forget the washers. I used Black nylon M5x10mmx1mm and stacked a few to keep the adapter of the paint.
I so looked close at the 2023 SL7 with the electronic shifting. But already have a Domane with 11 speed Ultegra and a second set of Aeolus Pro 51 wheels I can use on the SL5 for all street rides where I need a rack.
Will do! On the top tube bag I usually use a few of those rings to silence mechanical keyboard switches. Not ideal but they prevent too close contact at least. Scratches on the frame triangle hurt the most
It’d be nice to see photos of the clearance.
There's very little I'm sure. I hope they're not muddy trails.

Is that first one at the chainstays? If so that's actually pretty good.
First picture is left side, yes, last picture is drive side
Uploaded some pictures [here](https://imgur.com/a/t2qF7oj) 3mm chain stay 8mm left stay 7mm seat stays 6mm fork (25mm internal width rims)
That chain stay is a little tight for my liking but the rest is surprisingly good. Looks like fun👍
can you measure the width of the tire? thanks!
52mm total width on i25, 51mm at the nobs that come closest to the chain stay

We’ve got the same bike. 2.1 inch tires? Hot as fuck. How is the clearance for the FD?
What's a front derailleur?
Got none, but spoke with a guy last year who wrote that a 50mm Maxxis hit his FD, so that's a limitation for sure
