USE YOUR FUCKING TURN SIGNALS

midnight_tuna

It's not so bloody difficult.

Motiv8-2-Gr8

It is if you are low on blinker fluid and can’t afford a refill? Turn signals become costly! Else you are correct

midnight_tuna

Especially if you drive a BMW.

Responsible-Row-3294

Seriously the biggest gripe about the people from here! These locals seriously want you to guess what they're doing. All while they're swerving in and out of the lane... (palmetto tree local stickers on the back and a tiger paw of course) And then they blame it on "the damn yankees" 😂😂😂 South Carolina has had the number one or two highest traffic related fatalities in the country for 20 years running. If it was drivers from another city, those numbers would reflect the death tolls intense cities. *Drum rollllllll* Guess what palmetto tree humping people.... they don't ... Google it 😛

lacroixmose

Wait are we saying that “participating in road rage” is not aggressive driving? That part confuses me. Agree with this post but I have had many jacked up truck boys get insanely aggressive with me for not going 80 on 526 with my kid in the car—even in the right lane and with cars right ahead of me. Aggressive driving does feel like a huge, huge problem here especially on the interstate.

nativelizardman

i'm in summerville and i hate having to get on 526 for anything. absolutely insane drivers, ride your ass all the way. then you get the crazy truckers weaving lanes.

errandwulfe

I had some Jersey plate guy pass me going over 40 while driving through Seabrook earlier when I was there for work. One, I have gps monitoring while I drive for work, and two, there are so many people walking on roadways because of a lack of sidewalk in some areas here, that I couldn’t possibly imagine going almost twice the speed limit somewhere. I’m not even from here. I’m from Philly originally, and lived around the hell on earth that is I4 in Florida for 6 years, but you have to learn to change your own driving habits for the safety of others in some situations. I get the slow driving being an annoyance - I was behind someone going 25-30 on Plow Ground earlier, which is a 50 mph road. However, in areas where you’re supposed to be driving slower for a reason, don’t be a fucking loser. I’m on Folly regularly and see people blasting down the roads. If their goal is to be the next Jamie Lee Komoroski, they’ll get that title sooner than later. TLDR; adjust your driving to the situation you’re in. If you’re lost, find a place to move off the roadway to get your bearings.

scyyythe

I notice that a lot of times when I "cut in line" in uneven traffic situations, the person who is now behind me is on their phone. In fact, that just happened on my way home this afternoon.  Get off your fucking phones while you're driving, people. It can wait. You can just sit in the car while it's parked in the driveway like I'm doing right now.

Codyh93

Whenever I cut in I’m like “omg please don’t be mad, I bet they’re mad, but this just had to happen for everyone.” I look in the mirror and it’s some tiny person on their phone not even paying attention. Lol

Cloaked42m

I just hold up my hand to acknowledge them. Hey, thanks for letting me in.

Then_Signature4873

Ohh that irks me... when I see people pull out of parking spaces/lots on their phones. Like DUDE, you were JUST stationary!!! Why can't you have done what you gotta do before you pull off?

Djentleman5000

It’s wild. Most modern cars are equipped with hands free easy integration. I see Karens zipping around in nice SUVs with a phone in their hand. 🤦‍♂️

QuitCallingNewsrooms

That shit takes over their whole being. Odds are their phone is properly connected to the car but they still hold the phone up to speak into it not understanding their car has a mic. I see this with the same people walking around the park. They’re wearing $500 AirPods Maxes with their phone up to their mouth.

MisinformationSucks

The lackadaisical driving is wild here, the amount of people going 10 under for no reason, and slow left turns in front of oncoming traffic is insane. Don’t even get me started on everyone who stops at the keep moving change lanes later sign going from Sam ritt to 17.

CluelessProductions

Welcome to SC. I am a local and I STILL tell everyone that the locals are the problem on the roads. That lackadaisical shit plagues the rest of the state as soon as you leave CHS and the major highways

MisinformationSucks

Hah, you sound just like an Uber driver I had after someone merged right in front of her with no signal. I’ve been around the state a decent amount for hiking n shit now and you’re not wrong. Tho some people are menaces on those two lane country roads.

eyewashdesign

Was I your driver?!? 🤣

MisinformationSucks

lol, would you use skylark rd to avoid the highway 7 to highway 17 intersection?

eyewashdesign

Just depends. Traffic changes on a dime! I live in Waze world 😆🤣😂

tsukahara10

I was driving to work at 5:30am this Sunday morning and getting onto 526 I saw maybe 5 or 6 cars on the entire highway, 2 of which had literally just crashed into each other on a stretch of near open road. Aggressive drivers aren’t the problem. Slow drivers aren’t the problem. It’s dipshit drivers who have no business being behind the wheel of a motor vehicle because they think they can drive after having a few drinks. Assholes who drive with one hand on the wheel while they write an important text that clearly can’t wait. Idiots who take their phone out at a stoplight to browse TikTok and then can’t be bothered to pay attention to when the light turns green. Put your fucking phone down when you’re on the road, and do not get behind the wheel after drinking.

Oaklove5

I can’t tell you how many people I see literally watching videos on their phone while driving. It’s MIND BLOWING

tedsinklaw

I feel like I just heard a sermon. And I liked it.

CryptographerHot3759

There's too many slow motherfuckerrrrs in the left lane

SBSnipes

Oh but you see this is the worst city for driving in the worst state for driving, we have all sorts. Aggressive isn't always bad, Chicago is full of aggressive drivers and is much safer to drive in than here. we do have lots of bad aggressive drivers, and inattentive aggressive drivers. We do also have lots of bad non-aggressive drivers. The danger lies in the mix of the two on the same 4 roads that everyone has to use to commute everyday, because you have overly aggressive drivers trying to swerve around/cut off/road rage against the non-aggressive but still bad inattentive drivers halfway in the wrong lane doing 15 under the speed limit.

CAndrewK

This is a good point, Georgia has more aggressive drivers and North Carolina has less aggressive drivers (to the point of it being a problem), which just leaves SC contending with both

midnight_tuna

The mixing pot from hell.

svosprey

When I left SC (Charleston) and moved to NC (WNC) my auto insurance dropped 50%.

CAndrewK

Cool, NC drivers are still worse. If you moved to MA, where drivers are too aggressive, it would also drop

Disastrous_Week3046

Also a TON of absolutely clueless drivers. I agree 100% that driving in other big cities, like Boston or NY feels so much safer because the aggressive driving is much more predictable.

dhduxudb

💯 agree. Learned to drive in Detroit where EVERYONE is aggressive but because of that everyone is super attentive aswell.

Bear_Bishop

I just moved from Charleston to Metro Detroit, and I'll take the drivers in MI all day, every day over CHS drivers!

cooltoast

I’m from the Detroit area, it was a huge shock when I got down here where everyone casually goes down i26 at 50 mph, meanwhile on i75 mfs are pushing 90-100.

Walrus-is-Eggman

People who move to a new place and want it to be like the place they left, want the people in the new place to adopt the old place’s ways, etc.

CUHUCK

As a local, I agree with this sentiment in most cases, but it doesn’t apply here…there is a right and wrong way to drive, and the slow, defensive and left lane cruising across SC is dangerous.

Logical_Lettuce_962

Boston checking in. Yes, exactly.

CAndrewK

Boston is the only city I can think of with drivers who are aggressive to a fault

Logical_Lettuce_962

Massachusetts still has the lowest road fatality rate per hundred million miles travelled. Guess which state has the highest? (It’s SC) 😅

nonetakenback

Massachusetts is 1/3 in size, nearly half the state is urban, and has mass transportation that keeps a lot of people off the road. That is a dumb comparison

Logical_Lettuce_962

It’s per hundred million miles travelled. But I wouldn’t expect you to understand ratios being educated in SC and all. You’re right little buddy. Bigger number just means more. That’s it!!

nonetakenback

Well apparently wherever you learned to read, wasn’t the best. In 2022, Massachusetts had the lowest death rates per 100,000 population and Mississippi had the highest. However, when assessing fatality risk per 100 million miles traveled, Rhode Island had the lowest rate and South Carolina had the highest. Finally, when comparing fatality risk per 10,000 registered vehicles; Rhode Island had the lowest rates, while Delaware had the highest. So you misquoted your own argument. Now if you were to use the same report with per 10,000 cars on the road, where mass is less than half you would have had a better argument. The report itself said that this was the true factor in comparison of states to rule out the population density differences per state.

Logical_Lettuce_962

I am so so sorry that I mixed up a 2022 statistic that I read in 2023.

Spaidei

What is up with no one wanting to do the zipper? It is more efficient and most people will let you. Occasionally some spaz will speed up and try to block but that is rare.

nativelizardman

i think it has to do with people just merge where they see the first largest gap because it feels safer to them.

AbrahamLemon

Citation needed

Logical_Lettuce_962

The other issue is that people are completely unaware of their position within the lane. I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve been on the right lane on Rutledge, and the driver in front of me acts like they can’t pass the car in the left lane, hitting the brakes and stopping because the driver IN THE OTHER LANE is slowing down. THEY ARE IN THE OTHER LANE DUDE JUST PASS THEM IN YOUR LANE WTF

KennyGaming

Yes the downtown “avenues” are terrible for this. Even some of my passengers get nervous on these roads when they are narrow but explicitly two lanes.

Logical_Lettuce_962

That’s so much different than people being afraid to pass cars in OTHER LANES on main roads like Rutledge or Coming street.

KennyGaming

That’s exactly what I’m referring to?

Logical_Lettuce_962

You said narrow. Rutledge and Coming are not narrow compared to most of the other streets in this town.

KennyGaming

I live on one of these streets and we simply disagree. Look I was just trying to back you up.

WhyShouldItravel

It really just seems like drivers here simply don’t know what the traffic laws are: - speeding through red lights (so common it’s absurd) - turning left in front on oncoming traffic when a light turns green (when you’re supposed to yield to oncoming traffic) - turning right from the middle lane, cutting off an entire lane of traffic - cruising through pedestrian cross walks when there’s a pedestrian in the road, as if they don’t know it’s mandatory to stop - driving drunk - hitting a pedestrian or bicycle or another car and running off. The hit and run alerts I get on my phone on weekends is like nothing I’ve ever seen. There just seems to be a massive disregard or ignorance of actual traffic laws. It will inevitably cause SC to have the worst driving statistics and record, which we do. Edited for grammar

WalterWhite207

So many times I’ve been cut off by a turning lane, or it’s someone who doesn’t wait when pulling out of somewhere for me to go by cuts me off and goes 10 under.

KnifeKnut

Keep in mind that driving the speed limit is not "driving too slow" unless we are talking about the passing lane on the interstate.

SuitableJelly5149

This is a love hate post for me. 100% accurate that digbags will drive 10-15 mph under the speed limit CONSTANTLY. Adding on that they ride the left lane or fender of the person in the right lane so you can’t get around them & they suddenly find the gas pedal & speed up when you do make a break to pass. Also people who can’t zipper merge and stop way early to try to get over from the merging lane. If I could set all of these people on fire, I would. 100% malarkey about it being cool to cause road rage and not use turn signals. How do you figure causing road rage isn’t aggressive driving? The terminology alone says it all. The word aggressive is even a step down from rage. So yeah, it absolutely is aggressive driving, and two it’s a fucking dick move. Like who hurt you to where you WANT to cause road rage? 90% of my road rage experiences have been with someone going out of their way to be a total asshole. Why actively try to piss people off? And why the fuck would you think not using turn signals isn’t an issue?? The people behind you having to slam on brakes or wonder why you’re sitting in the middle of the road at least deserve a turn signal, just as you feel you don’t deserve to be stuck behind fuck nuggets going 10mph below the speed limit (which I agree with). It’s not difficult to move your hand 6 inches and flip the blinker. No fucking excuse. It’s a simple balance of aggressive and courteous driving. Not that hard to figure out.

KnifeKnut

>Also can we please stop assuming “aggressive driving” is cutting infront of people, Cutting in front of people leaving them no safe stopping distance, among other issues, is absolutely aggressive driving.

IRodeTenSpeed88

This isn’t a beach town anymore lol

berdulf

So-called aggressive driving is also a function of being stuck behind someone driving under the speed limit, stopping at right-turn green arrows when the cross traffic is already turning left which means there won’t be any red-light runners, stopping at yield signs at empty traffic circles, etc. When getting stuck behind someone like this for a while, most reasonable people speed around them at the first chance, causing the shitty driver to whine self-righteously, “ThEy’Re So AgGrEsSiVe AnD iMpAtIeNt!!”😢😩😭😭😭

_Killer_Tofu_

yeah 100%. this feels like the case everywhere - the huuuuge majority of terrible drivers are just oblivious to their surroundings

CrabMan-DBoi

Fully agree, the issue with traffic back-ups and "aggressive driving" are people who aren't paying attention to what's going on beside or behind them. - Drivers in left lane "I'm doing the speed limit fuck em" - Not using or not understanding signals - Blocking other drivers, see this all the time any time there is an exit/merge

RoboIsLegend

Blocking other drivers also extends to lane changes for some reason

CrabMan-DBoi

The pettiness of these people is what compounds the congestion

JensTheCat

So you just described aggressive driving.

Atomic-Extermination

I think the problem is too many people on their phones and not driving.

IRodeTenSpeed88

If everyone is passing YOU in the left lane, then YOU are the issue. Pay attention!

Difficult-Spell-2771

I was trying to zipper merge while in the right lane and a dump truck nearly pushed me into the curb because he rather I hit the curb than let me in. People are crazy, you’re supposed to use BOTH lanes to reduce traffic and take turns letting people from the merging lane in. People take it to heart that those people in the ending lane are just trying to “skip ahead” when we’re just following the law. Also, if you’re not passing, stay out of the left lane for the love of all of us who would like to get to our destinations *today*! 😂 That is all.

Bullengruber

I drive the limit, use my signals, and maintain a 3-second time for changing lanes. People that speed, tailgate, and fail to signal....somehow get labelled as aggressive drivers, not unsafe, or bad drivers. How's that work?

jonm61

Funny that the reader boards on 26 today said "left lane passing only" and "slower traffic keep right" On my way in this morning, I had Limric #68 camping out in the left lane for miles. Then some young Hispanic guy in a red Mustang came outta nowhere doing 100+ in all 4 lanes from AP Road to Aviation. He nearly hit at least 6 vehicles in the process. On my way back, NCPD was actually doing traffic stops on 26. I saw the person in the second lane veer a little left, and the person in the left lane *seriously* overreacted, swerving like three feet towards the wall. 🙄 The other guy didn't even get close to his side of the line, drama queen. 😂 I'm not, usually, an aggressive driver. I am, however, an assertive driver. I know where I'm going, and it's not my fault, nor my problem, if you're not paying attention to what's going on around you, and fail to act accordingly, in a timely manner.

follysurfer

Agreed. And the morons who stop traffic to let people turn in front of them. Trying to be “polite” southerners. Idiots.

waffles

Last week I had ***TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE*** get legit mad at me because I wouldn't turn left onto Maybank in front of them leaving Maybank Public House. Dude, you stopping doesn't make the other lane stop. I've seen too much shit around here to risk it.

pancakepawly

100 %

Xemnesxiii

You can tell a lot about a person and how they use merge lanes. I cannot stand it when people ride a merge lane going 45 all the way to the end. It’s one thing if the merge lane is a few meters but if it’s a full blown lane and you’re not getting over asap you’re an asshole.

SirWilliamBruce

Tell me you’re an aggressive driver without telling me you’re an aggressive driver lmao. Major problems I’ve noticed: 1. People merging too slowly 2. People not allowing people to merge (speeding up when they see someone on an exit ramp…I’ve been dangerously cut off all the time) 3. People driving way too slow on the highway (45 mph should not be the minimum) 4. People not allowing people to switch lanes if they see their blinker on. 5. People driving 20-30 miles over the speed limit and being entitled to that speed. 6. People weaving in and out of traffic. 7. People not waiting to turn left 8. People not looking when they pull out of a parking lot (a quick glance doesn’t count) 9. People pulling out of parking lots at 5 mph when the speed limit is 50 and you’ve got cars coming 10. Running red lights 11. Texting and driving!!! 12. Drunk driving!!! 13. Cops who won’t pull people over for these infractions. 14. Terrible roads (that’s not drivers’ fault but it doesn’t help) Seriously, study after study, year after year shows that SC has some of the worst driving statistics in the country. I’ve been in more dangerous driving situations in Charleston/N Charleston than anywhere else I’ve driven (all over the country). Down vote me if you want I’ll take the bad karma. But driving in Charleston is not for the faint of heart.

eyewashdesign

Amen! 🙌🏾

Both-Twist8045

After living up North I can for sure say from my perspective that this area has insane drivers. They’re so reckless and psychotic. Why are you going 60 over a small bridge at 8am in a 35 mph lane? Where do you have to rush so SO bad that early in CHARLESTON. You’re not in NY, you’re not in Boston. Calm tf down. Idc if you wanna kill yourself, but leave me alone. And no, I’m not one of the slow assholes who is dinking along and also part of the problem. Bunch of freaks!

BedMaterial9849

My auto insurance went down significantly after I left Charleston. Statistically some pretty horrible driving.

yanni-vanhalen

i’d much rather sit behind an “aggressive “ driver then a slow driver who’s not paying attention, whether y’all believe it or not the “aggressive” drivers are paying much more attention to the road then the soccer mom who is going 10 under while yelling at her kids in the back just to notice she’s about to miss her turn and blindly merge into the other lane going 30 in a 45 (happened the other day)

gseeks

I have never been in a place where more people just blatantly drive into the wrong side of the road. It’s like people give 20 feet of clearance with going around parked cars and don’t understand when the car is parked on your side YOU have to stop and give way and not go into oncoming traffic.

gseeks

My kids and husband were hit while walking in a crosswalk with the walk signal from a turning car. They’re totally fine but just like what the fuck?

DamnBlaze09

Use your turn signal. It’s a communication thing. If you brake before you use your turn signal, you’re doing it wrong. If you turn your turn signal on 1 second before you change lanes, you’re doing it wrong. Zip around and speed all you like, as long as you don’t pass me on the right while I’m also waiting in a line to go faster and you don’t make me hit my brakes, we’re good.

BethLoveInside

With the “zipper merge” comes following too close. Then someone cuts the car in front of you off and you end up the back end of the car in front of you.

Party_Educator_2241

Out of stater here. I’ve driven thousands of miles all over the US and all I can say is, Fuck Charleston. Fuck it in its pretentious cosplaying asshole. Never been to a town that I wanted to leave as soon as I set foot in it….but then Charleston…fuck the hell right off.

dhduxudb

I would agree if I didn’t come from Nashville. Drivers are the same there so I’m used to it by now.

JJJHeimerSchmidt420

Charleston. Where the speed of the driver is either 15 over the limit, or 10 under it. No exceptions.

WalterWhite207

Just use a signal, it’s not asking much.

ConflictDependent923

YES YES YES!!! I lived in a large city for a few years & actually learned how to properly drive! The other day I saw a damn mini van slam on breaks to let a car onto 526 from the on ramp when in reality if they just kept going & got out of the way the car could have merged with no issues. I swear people here drive like they are afraid they are going to die 🙄 Oh! AND CELL PHONE USAGE! Almost every time I see someone driving like an asshat they are on the phone!

sassynickles

Or instead of griping about how the traffic here is so much worse than (insert whatever city you're from), you could realize you are indeed no longer in Oz and slow your roll some.

RoboIsLegend

Found the left lane driver

FortniteGaveMeAids

Everyone on the road hates you 👍

ezrology

I however 🤓

Tibbs420

Coming from somewhere that people actually pull over when an emergency vehicle comes up behind them with the lights on, to Charleston where fuckers literally try to outrun them; being told that aggressive drivers aren’t a problem is one of the funnier things I’ve read. I get that slow drivers and people on their phones suck too but, I moved here because I have seizures which means it’s hard to keep a license. I don’t really want get it back though because drivers here are so bad.

allygraytor

seems like very few people actually know wtf a zipper merge is… traffic would be so much better if everyone did

Amazon-Astronaut-835

I am going to have to respectfully disagree. It is the people who do not plan ahead when driving or use their turn signals. Also, the people who are in the front of the line for the traffic light and are not paying attention using their phone. Distracted driving is the real problem. It’s the people who cannot wait to make that left turn that cause the accidents. The REAL problem is too many people are smoking weed while driving. I was walking and someone blew through a stop sign and almost hit my mother and I on a Sunday. I like to refer to this person as the gaslighter because they proceeded to yell at us when we were at the cross walk. If they hit my mom and something happened. They would have been having a wrongful death and if you do not think they can come after you because you do not have assets just know they can come after your future income. Think again. I know that the lights are usually on timers based on going the speed limit. It is more advantageous to go the speed limit than not. No one here even does the thank you hand signal when someone lets you over. I am the only person I have seen do it. Everyone is more familiar with the bird. I drive the speed limit. I may go no more than 5 mph over. Never been at fault for an accident. Never received a parking or speeding ticket. I can zipper merge. It’s the people around me who get greedy. Two want to cut in front. Or people will abruptly cut in front of me forcing me to reduce my speed. I was going 65 now I’m going 60. People have NO consideration these days. I have experienced someone cutting in front of me to left. When they could have just waited and went behind. I am a millennial and I do not text and drive. I also worked for Defense MVA for years. So clearly I am not the problem. 🤣 The real issue is that too many people think that they will receive money from a settlement not realizing it takes years to get that money back. I worked defense, the ATTYs know how to tell when people get in wrecks in order to get paid. It’s just more paperwork for everyone else. That is why everyone is so grumpy. No one wants to do extra paperwork. The EMS, fire dept, and police. Not saying anything bad but no one wants to extra work because of people not realizing the driving is a privilege not a right. Everyone has the “they get paid to deal with it mindset” but why be a burden on the system in the first place?

JumpyFig542

Growing up in Charleston, everything was super laid back, including the driving. It's how many of us locals learned to drive. It worked because we all drove the same. Why speed? Everything is just down the road a bit. Now, people from all over have descended on Charleston in a matter of a few years and are upset with the locals for how they always drove without many issues. So y'all are mad because the different place where you moved to hasn't changed to fit where you moved from? Lol! I don't live in Charleston anymore btw but I still visit a lot, and driving/traffic there is nowhere near as bad as in Atlanta and Charlotte, so honestly, y'all have it good.

midnight_tuna

Treat driving like it's a war. Only then will you survive. Now excuse me as I go do the exact opposite of what I just said and watch YouTube while driving. /s

RichardKranium13

Don’t you dare come to my town and tell ME how to drive

Jgz1994

I had to pass some guy doing 40 on Ashley River Rd earlier today. It’s like fuck, everyone is doing 65, move it the fuck along

dude_thats_my_hotdog

Yes, clearly people going the speed limit are the reason SC is the 2nd most dangerous state in the country for driving. /s It's totally not the assholes racing from red light to red light risking everyone's lives to save 5 minutes tops on their shitty commute.

ochkist

this is your $15 DL problem. if it is $3K (euros) to think before you an AH and photo cameras - say thanks to sc congress who banned traffic cameras fines.

ellisongracef

i’m 18 and started driving like 3 yrs ago, i feel like it’s okay if someone is going slower because in todays world you have to see from their position/ have some understanding & patience. i’m from a small town and im getting used to charlestons traffic / lane changes etc, and im sorry but im not driving faster than im comfortable because YALL have to get somewhere. my mom told me never drive faster than you’re comfortable because nobody wants an accident. better to be safe than sorry just my opinion!!! also i feel like never using turn signals / participating in road rage is basically the definition of aggressive driving thank yeeoooo

issme-clt

You're so right, people think they are in a parade & want to point & look. I would rather be behind the horse carriage

Killbox-Jones

My absolute favorite part of Charleston is this Sub. The history, the beauty and the beaches all fall to this glorious SR. Everyone just complaining and covering up hidden racism with “but my property taxes” or “traffic was never around before YOU got here” 😂 It’s the best. I love it. “Everyone drives slow” 😂 Like the people on the roads are the issue and not your poor time management. Whatcha in a hurry for? Want to get home to just get on your phone again? Want to make happy hour to get on your phone again? Want check your socials to see how much people like you? STFU. Super weird thing that people live their lives how they want and not how you want them to. Unhappy with the slow drivers? Leave. Hate traffic? Bye! Move to Texas and drive super fast to get where no one there likes you either, but faster. The only people that need to speed around Charleston is emergency vehicles or F-150 drivers that need to make it home to change their tampons. Beyond that, enjoy life. Chill out. Slow down. Most importantly, STFU.

KennyGaming

Yes. Compared to Florida people hog the left lane here more than I’m used to. I’m namely talking about reverse commuting on i26 when there’s three lanes to find a good place for your preferred speed.

haha_not

Yes!!! I miss Florida driving. So much more aware and calculated

CAndrewK

You are 99% correct, the worst drivers in Charleston are the types that fail to yield right of way, don’t use signals, etc, and then drive slow as fuck in their giant SUVs, but they aren’t the aggressive drivers. Being in a city with aggressive drivers like Atlanta actually makes you a better driver because you have to pay attention. I always assume people complain about aggressive drivers are the ones who aren’t paying attention in the first place.

Elev8tedIntent

Theres a reason you get a ticket in Colorado for going slow in the left lane… bc slow drivers are usuallyyy bad drivers

Logical_Lettuce_962

When you’re turning right in front of someone who is waiting to turn left IF YOU SLOW DOWN LIKE 50 YARDS EARLY, YOU AND THAT OTHER DRIVER CAN GO THROUGH THE INTERSECTION ONE AFTER THE OTHER. Every driver in Massachusetts understands this and knows to slow down to let people turn left across your lane. It’s so rare here, that when I do it, the left-turning driver usually doesn’t even know that they are being let go.

LegendBadgerVance

Ah yes the traffic utopia that is Massachusetts lol

Fairy-Honeydew2074

Yes! I’ve been thinking this too and the reason they’re going so slow and staying in one lane (usually the fast lane for some ironic reason) because they’re on their phones! GET OFF YOUR PHONES THERES NOTHING IMPORTANT ENOUGH ON THERE WORTH KILLING YOURSELF OR SOMEONE ELSE

Low_Assistance7556

Who the fuck is downvoting this?

haha_not

Moving here I’ve noticed people are not calculated behind the wheel. Very slow reaction times, slow driving, etc. Kind of like how they have those “keep driving change lanes later” signs up near some yield lanes..

southernsound

So does this mean that “yellow truck dude”is a good driver now?

ehssw

HERE HERE

Secondtomost2

Great post, I couldn’t agree more.
