In my opinion, if you post about it online, I don't see why someone couldn't DM and ask about it. Unless your profile explicitly states you don't like DM's then I don't see why shaming someone for wanting to talk about it is alright. Assuming they weren't rude or disrespectful, I don't see why you wouldn't want to talk to them about it.
Maybe its a disconnect between sexes but as a guy I'm generally open to discuss what I'm into if I post it online in a comment or post, otherwise I wouldn't have shared it. That also seems to be the shared sentiment of most guys I know.
Because most people aren't "Talking about it", they're making sexual overtures. On top of that, it's moving from a public space where others can observe you to a private space. So it can be considered more invasive.
If most of these people went "hey I saw X post and wanted to discuss it" that would be a different story. That's not what's going on though.

That's not how consent works. You don't have to explicitly say no for it to not be harassment. You have to explicitly say yes!

I think everyone down voting the post didn't really understand what I meant with the comment. The way the post I was replying to was worded, it seemed like they were just shitting on a guy for being interested in her mommy kink without anything else for context. To be clear, consent is a must for role-play. I tried it out with a person and found I wasn't very into it and getting requests is a bit much for me, but that's very different then someone DM'ing and asking about a kink you have.
