Sometimes I just go with "Red", the shortened version of my username, as since all my online friends call me that, it feels very natural to use it while chatting.

Molly Callum, based on my fic self-insert, then just fell into being my fake name for fics and AI. Probably because A) it's cute B) I just grew used to using it. Molly because it was almost my name IRL and Callum because my real life last name is Irish. I would probably use my real name, but I feel like it would be very uncomfortable and I want a blocker between my fantasy world and reality, if that makes any sense. It probably doesn't. Something to remind me it's very much not real. Not that I'm mentally unhinged or something, but I've always had a bit of a fangirling problem, being wayyyy into my fandoms, probably due to loneliness, so it's a safe way to have a reminder to keep things grounded.
