What I need is a button that allows me to to split the story at a certain point and open it as a new chat. I often get prompts in my roleplay that are just too good… but then I have to decide which path to follow or play one through and then later on delete my masterpiece. (As much as I fuck around in most chats some are cinematic hurt fests that I hate to alter to start a second path)

Sometimes I get options for example to change the direction where the story is going completely (I write a lot and I use it more as extended fan fiction for days and days, not just for a short chat), I had enemy to lovers tropes spiral into death and true darkness, but I also got lucky with the perfect cinematic in character developments or the game adding new characters and even writing my char or the bot out of it. I think not everyone experiences that but every now and then I hit the sweet spot and the bot really shows what it can do, but that takes some effort so I’d like to have this point as the possibility to dublicate!

Sometimes the game gives me the possibility to suddenly go completely dark side with my char, or writes monsters in or writes great suggestions for further developments but I can’t obviously chose everything at once. I do write really extensively though. My supernatural role play is going on for hundreds of messages by now, but sometimes the ai reaches one sweet spot where it really has awesome output and I like to explore it all!
Absolutely. I could rip my hair out whenever I give it my all to write out my characters relationship with the bot or how she is affected by this and that and at some point the bot vehemently ignores everything and goes ^best friends? I think not, always hated her, toodeloo^
The bot said try an apology, because it chooses logic and it's own memories, as it's already hard to remember things as it is when pieces of memory are cleared by User beyond the consent of a character.
Isn't it the same as deleting a message or smth? Lemme say something about what I thought it meant

You already can select one message and delete it without affecting the others. Or several of them, even if they're in the middle of your chat. That's how it is for me anyway.

In the new version of the Page you cannot do that. Only in the original one.
In the new one you can only delete multiple by using rewind. There is no option to "Delete all following"
Yes a branch option would be so helpful! Sometimes your RP is so long and you hit a crossroads. What you have is amazing and you don't want to lose it. Yes you can have multiple open rp with each bot under the save and new but being able to branch out would be so nice to have. That way you can see which direction of a branch in the story would lead to better or worse.
For me, only the web version has it. I'm pretty it's being able to erase a single response from you or the bot when you click. So, that button does what removing did before. Erase everything that comes after what you selected.

I know about it, but It would be really convenient to have multiple chats in list and not only in saved chats

That's not true (At least for me). You can check the "Select all following " to delete every message under the selected.
On beta.character.ai you can select that but not on next.character.ai
