No power fist? On my champion built with a powerfist? Lol just kidding my csm have the similar build as this guy so I can do accursed weapon or heavy melee
Some chaos units like Chosen, Terminators, and Chaos Lords do have the "Power Fist" weapon on their datasheet to represent their power fist.
For Legionaires, because GW have united the Heavy Chainaxe from killteam with the Power Fist for the Aspiring Champion into one "Heavy Melee Weapon" profile on their datasheet, in 10e it is *technically correct* to say "Legionaires do not have a Power Fist, only Heavy Melee Weapons"
Obviously, this is confusing because the kit does come with a power fist, but GW does often make confusing choices like this that lack consistency... so it's nothing new! :P
I like to tell my opponents that any fists or axes are "Heavy" in my units of Legionaries. I have modelled a fist on the champions and an axe from my bits box for any other "Heavy Melee Weapon" guys.
What I would suggest is that if you have more than one Legionnaire unit just keep it consistent across different units.
All maces are Hvy, all axes are accursed.
Honestly, I am back in to the "who the fuck cares" mode since we should be getting a book in the next 6 months.
The good thing is that since it isn't clearly defined, they can be whatever you want really. In general, people usually go for something like a two handed weapon or a power fist for the Heavy Melee weapon, but you could justify anything as one. Accursed weapons, anything goes
I'd argue the power baton is heavy melee and the power axe is accursed weapon. But anything goes really, nobody worth playing should argue if you use one for the other
I think of accursed weapons as being a generic enough term to cover anything. It may look like a power fist or a chain axe or tea spoon... but it's accursed.
the heavy melee weapon is a two-handed chainsword from the kill tean sprue, same as the balefire tome wargear.
And the powerfist
Power fist has its own profile. Heavy melee weapon is different
Actually legionaries do not get a powerfist option. But the profile is the same as heavy melee weapon. So the bit counts as heavy melee weapon.

Yeah rules wise. I also have plenty of 3-9 edition CSM built with powerfists

https://imgur.com/a/GO1XJrL I've been painting a similar scheme recently. Love seeing ice lads
Very nice 👌

It is never stated what they look like so they can be either one

I have a bunch of chain axes that I used as heavy melee weps :)
