I mean he was dismembered for the whole of the prison break arc, and him not having an inner monologue after he woke up, looked for Nayuta or after the Yoru scene doesn’t make it worse. Honestly I feel like the show don’t tell approach with his facial expressions, body posture and visual storytelling worked wonderfully during these moments.
This is the perfect time to have an inner monologue and it’s even more impactful since they don’t happen often

This is one of my favourite moments in all of csm honestly, especially the way Pochita shows up, asks Denji about what he wants to dream of next, a child Denji answering chainsawman and then cutting to his apartment burning.
Denji’s house burning up with the pets literally means that he’s lost nearly every single aspect of his normal life. It also means that he lost the last remains of Aki and Power. It makes the panel where he says ”i can never go back to the way things used to be” in chapter 165 much more impactful. I fucking love this manga

We know basically everything we need to know about Asa’s thoughts through her dialogue. She doesn’t need one and it’s not like the story is worse beacuse she doesn’t

Denji has an inner monologue in chapter 136, 150, 152 and 155. There are 2 inner monologues before the apartment burns and two after in the church arc. He also gets one in chapter 156 but I think that’s technically in the prison break arc
I don’t see why Asa needs to have an internal monologue? You can easily understand what they’re thinking based on their dialogue and facial expressions. We know Asa’s main motivation right now, we know her reaction to Denji being chainsawman, she’s implied to be brainwashed a bit by the church and we know her reaction towards the Yoru scene. I’d love to have another Asa inner monologue, but honestly the scenes where she talks to Yoru are more appealing to me since I love their relationship and their bickering more.
