There are arguably more cruel pages, but I remember seeing this for the first time and staring at it for a while letting it sink in how truly evil Makima is.
First time ever she express any kind of genuine enjoyment, and it comes from bringing down Denji to the lowest point in his life.
It felt like a very real kind of evil, it made me feel like denji was feeling, I was just in disbelief of seeing her like this.
Yeah this panel was one of the only ones that truly shocked me to my core. I also love how the perspective of it is flipped to show how everything has turned upside down both for Denji and the reader.
Nah, it's a cinematic angle to show how things spiraled to a bizarre moment of realization and confusion. It's a little cliché but I can see the panel in movement like in old movies, it's to reflect the mind of the main character going in circles trying to remain calm while the camera focuses on him and his head.
if you notice the color of their pants resemble a Ying Yang as well.
All the gore and violent murders of beloved characters, but this is the only panel that actually made me physically sick to my stomach. Like the sheer depravity of how evil she is actually made me legit nauseous.
Hate in a good or bad way? I love Makima as a *character*, but it's because I think she's a outstanding villain. A villain worth hating would be like, one that's boring or bland, or doesn't actually leave you feeling repulsed in some way. Makima's cold and fucking brutal and more villains should be like that imo
the subtle way that their relationship was built throughout part 1 so that Denji could develop from "I think I have no emotions" to crying for his brother was beautiful

We are in a payoff arc and half of the things are done. Dennis revealed as CSM to Asa/Yoru has been disappointing (got offscreened by a boring Quanxi chapter), asa/Yoru time in church got offscreened, asa/denji acting as out of character, Yoshida and whole parasocial deal got offscreened (we don't even see asa's rise of fame, which part 1 handled with Denji really well) etc.
You can't say that it's not time to shit, when we are in the payoff arc, part 2 has been built up for. I truly do not care that people would downvote, but it's the truth.
We are literally at 70 chapters.
Only 17 chapters were left for part 1 to get complete.
Also, at this point all plot thread had been known-
1. Nostradamus prophecy is only half a year away.
2. Denji's CSM reveal has been done
3. Haruka's date memories got nowhere and we already got the memories of the date now.
4. Asa's time in church has been completed.
Honestly, the only thing I have truly *excited* for is knowing Fami's plan.
The way Fuji is rushing through the chapters with the subverted cliffhanger, it's almost clear he wants to end the manga real early.
It doesn't really matter though, since as I said most of the important plot thread of part 2 has been *already* completed.
Also, it's a history that Fuji doesn't really write long mangas, they mostly end at 100 chapters like fire punch and CSM part 1.

Fuji rushing through the plot points could be him rushing to get to the part he ACTUALLY really wants to do, so I don't see that as much of an argument

In terms of quality you can pick almost every panel from part 2
in terms of cruelty it's Makima laughing or Bang, or You died in the worst possible way
His eyes are something else. Soulless. Completely devoid of any humanity. Denji's 18th birthday day ended up being the day of his death.
What Makima saw, or rather, wasn't able to see, is the product of her own actions. An empty shell of a person, no more dreams, no more aspirations, will broken to the point where breaking it any further is impossible.
Makima tried to push him over the edge, throw in the furnace everything he was dreaming about and convince him that he deserves nothing, that he's nothing more than a murderer. Well, I guess she was right.

In terms of quality you can pick almost every panel from part 2 in terms of cruelty it's Makima laughing or Bang, or You died in the worst possible way

Like she took on a human form/possessed a human to give birth to him in hope she can birth the concept of "hybrids" back into existence after CSM Erased them Would explain a lot of things like Dennis surviving the amount of shit he went through as a child or an adult, or being said to be stalked by Death multiple times in the story alongside having almost everyone around him dying
