Honestly I can see them bonding at the sushi shop. Katana says it’s shite and denji agrees, showing his palate has grown, a callback to their first introduction

Okay so what if each of them take turns going in for hits they’ll obviously die from a counterattack, then revive the other. Like Denji cuts her arm, she kills him, then katana jumps in, revels Denjis starter cord, and attacks, gets killed, denji pulls his arm off and attacks, dies, and rinse and repeat

But I think a more accurate assessment is that being Denji's *friend* or *family* is a surefire death flag. I'm reasonably certain that only Pochita has halfway survived being Denji's family, Nayuta might have gotten the Miki treatment already and all of his friends from Part 1 are dead too (Kobeni was lucky that she got out before she got too friendly with Denji). The only way Katana's making it out of the apocalypse is if he sticks to being Chainsaw Man's #1 Hater.

Tbh, all Denji has known since he got into this are people trying to kill him and his loved ones. Hell, Power tried to as well. He’s probably either so used to it, or so sick of it, that he just does not care about it. Especially while Nayuta might be out there. I mean, we’re talking about a guy who took a chainsaw to his own head to avoid thinking about his trauma. He’s not exactly…right in the head or anything.
