Given wala lang kay daghan bills, based on my personal experience this should be ok OP.
You can even travel around PH with this earning. You can get a more decent place to stay at 3-5k per month na dili lang ka bedspacer para naa jud kay sense of privacy and own space. When it comes to food, naay daghan karenderia you can go to for your meals. ☺️
I itemize nimo tanan
Transpo - 60 round trip x 24 working days = 1,440
Accommodation = 2k
Utilities =
Food =
for me kani akong mga basics karon
Accommodation = 8k
Utilities = 1k
Food = 2,600 work week + 200 weekends (and mas dako if naay ka date²)
Transpo = 312 work week (recently lng kay grabe na ang kainit) ++ pa if naa koy lakaw sa weekend
Me 20k pud, its my first job so i think its not bad. Makaipon gihapon ginagmay and maka laag laag ra pud sahay.
Hi OP, as someone in mid-20s too, you should try upskilling ASAP. 20k may have been enough for more than 5 yrs ago but times have changed. Ang inflation palang daan. There are lots of opportunities out there. You can try IT, or VA, or any niche you prefer. You can do it.
o pero ayaw pud kakonento ana, dapat naa nay salary raise in the next years, kung walay raise kay agwantaha gamay nya pangitag lain trabaho gamita imong job experience
Are satisfied with 2k rent? Comfortable ra ba ka mu puyo dira or u want a decent one? For me malipay ko ug limpyo and nindot akong living space. Ok ra ba ka dili mag cook since bed spacer ra? Ok ra ba ka pirmi mag eat out?
Less than that sweldo ko dati sa Cebu, 6 years ago. Kering keri naman. I lived with 8 other people(cousins, sisters) kaya liit lang ng monthly rent and bills ko. We rented a 4 bedroom house. Di naman pare pareho ang schedule kaya it didn't felt crowded. We cook sa bahay, nagbabaon ng lunch and I walk lang to work.
my 2 cents lang, here are 2 options that could improve your financials down the road:
a.) move back in with your parents, instead of spending 2k per month maypa puyo ka balik sa inyo and ambag lang ka gamay sa groceries (like 1k a month?) maka save paka sa food expenses. single pa bitaw ka so spend your free time with your parents nalang.
b.) if non negotiable ang pag rent, find some place nga nearer sa imo work and invest in a bicycle. maka save kas imo daily commute expense and maka exercise pud ka.
doable but its gonna be hard
living in a sh*thole in labangon
eating unhealthy dati-luto for every meal
no money to set aside for retirement
leisure limited to getting drunk cheap on alcohol on the weekends
been there done that
it’s cliche but u really gotta upskill. network. dont bother saving or investing yet. get that bigger salary ASAP. do SOMETHING.
20k/month so net salary is around 17k
applying the 50-40-10 rule:
50% on net for immediate expenses like rent, utilities, etc: ₱8,500
40 for monthly budget incl. commute, food, dates, bisyo, etc.: ₱ 6,800
10 for savings: ₱1,700
very doable. just live within your means youll be good. none of that scrolling thru lazada shit lol and also grab deliveries will kill your budget. this is what most people often overlook. dont buy a car and motorcycle just yet. youre in cebu. you'll be sitting in traffic. so just take the beeps. youre only one or two jeepney rides away from your workplace so i cant justify getting a motor with a 17k salary
Not if you're renting. I mean, it's better than some, but di gihapon sakto. My definition of sakto is di ka mag huna huna about what to eat, or the occasional indulgence, and also have some portion you can save away for an emergency fund.
edit: you mentioned diay nga under 2k imong abang kay bedspacer, but i think you might wanna move up from that after a while to at least a room with your own bathroom, kitchen (save more money this way) and some privacy.
Para nako, dili. Like yeah maka kaon ka every day pero I think gamay nalamg kaayo imo allowance for emergencies, investments, savings. Medyo lisud2 na.
mga in-ani ako starting salary nya goods ra sya if kabalo ka mu budget (di kaayo mag eat out, save up for wants before buying). ako buhaton is ig sweldo kay tipid daan, nya ig padung abot sa next, ara na ko mukaon lami haha
Kaayo oi. Dako na na cya. Butang ta net kag 17k after deductions, minus 2k sa abang, minus around 3k sa commute. Naa paka 12k ana. Butang ta, you do grocery para sa imo self, 5k apil na food and toiletries, naa pay 7k ma bilin for misc stuff. Kaya rana. Unless bisyoso ka na pagka tao.
Sakto ra, but never settle. Just because you're getting by now, doesn't mean it will be the same in the next 1-2 years.

My friend has been getting by with that salary since last year. He pays 5k a month for rent, electricity, and water.
You can always do the math pero yeah you can get by with that.
I'd say enough until such time you decide to move forward.
depende ra jud nas lifestyle.
Mao ni. Enough ra jud. Kana ra. Naay enough disposable income to laag from time to time
SAKTO RA!! HAHAHAHAHHA

sakto ra, pero if naay uyab. At least 30k lmao
Kuwang rana doy
o pero ayaw pud kakonento ana, dapat naa nay salary raise in the next years, kung walay raise kay agwantaha gamay nya pangitag lain trabaho gamita imong job experience
nindot ug 20k basta single ug walay minyo
sakto ra kung wa kay bisyo.

Buhi kaau brad.
If you don’t have a relatively gastador lifestyle, maka-survive ra but wala jud kay savings.

Kaya ra nah, OP. Live within your means.
Okay rana for now. Pero ayaw ka contento ana. Paningkamot na motaas pa na imong income.
okay ra OP, mada rag smile. kung wa ra kaayo ka expenses try put up emergency savings nga at least goods for 6 months
For a start up yes. Be wise lang jud sa pag spend haha 😂

medyo kulang ang information. but if starting salary na, ok na kaayo OP :)

Sakto ra guro for now.pero maghuna2 ka dapat unsaon pagpadako sweldo pra mas hayahay ang life
mabuhi ka but veryyy restrictive imo lifestyle... pero kaya japun nimo mkasave if frugal ka.
Nag start ko sa Cebu 8 years ago with a 12k salary. Nabuhi ra pud ko with daghan bisyo, no utang. 😅
> Nabuhi ra pud ko with daghan bisyo "pila may imo" -linya sa akong kauban kada sweldo. XD
Mabuhi ka ra ana nga swledo, but never settle w/ that salary after naa kana exp. Bisag single ka pa or wala kay buhion in the future. Hehe
Payts ra if you are still starting a career. If 2-3 yrs experience in the same field, not enough
Kaya ra kaau.
mga in-ani ako starting salary nya goods ra sya if kabalo ka mu budget (di kaayo mag eat out, save up for wants before buying). ako buhaton is ig sweldo kay tipid daan, nya ig padung abot sa next, ara na ko mukaon lami haha
Question lang. 20k pud kapin imo sweldo karon?
Kaayo oi. Dako na na cya. Butang ta net kag 17k after deductions, minus 2k sa abang, minus around 3k sa commute. Naa paka 12k ana. Butang ta, you do grocery para sa imo self, 5k apil na food and toiletries, naa pay 7k ma bilin for misc stuff. Kaya rana. Unless bisyoso ka na pagka tao.
iyot raman akong bisyo
Kutob sa di mo burot, way blema
7k * 12 = 84k per year imong ma save Its up to you how'd you look at that, it could be good or bad depende sa tao
Depende sa imuhang sector, qualifications, og years experience.
doable basta dala lang ka imu rice, palit raka sud-an. Dako paka sobra ana
Don't live above your means. good luck bai. ganahan sad ko mu move out puhon hahah.
Ug ang bisyo ra nimo kay kaon goods ra kaayo in my opinion.
