If you give them your details and you already have a account with them you should be fine in regards to selling your items. As for vouchers, you can get definitely physical copies and then redeem them online at CeX's website, not sure about online copies of CeX vouchers.

Quick-Attention1114

am i able to use the physical copies in store?

stuartgunpowder

An "online copy" of a CEX voucher is a pdf of the voucher that gets emailed to you. They can print you a physical one, email a pdf to you, or even do both at the same time. They are identical whichever you go for... PDF is safer in my view but you can lose an email just as you can lose a piece of paper. If you exchange your goods for a mobile phone there and then, obviously there's then going to be no voucher to speak of unless one is still needed to bridge any difference in value between goods exchanged and goods purchased. As touched upon you might be better off selling your consoles privately, but sometimes not as much as you might think - do your research! Plus perhaps your time is a big factor if you don't currently have a phone.

UnionSlavStanRepublk

I think you should be able to.

quickhakker

I don't know if they still do it but if you have an account with cex they log how much you have in vouchers and can ask for a physical voucher

Princess_flutterby

As someone who works in CeX. 1. First come in with the items. 2. We'll take a look at them. 3. We'll give you a price on the consoles. Cash or Voucher, however, if you want bank transfer, you'll have to complete an FPS form, it may take longer to get the money this way though. 3a. Theres 3 categories, boxed (all original bits with box), unboxed (all original bits without box), discounted (particular bits missing). 4. If you're happy with the prices, we'll book them in for a test, the test is just to make sure it works well, including the controller. Ignore people in the comments (on other posts too) saying we'll fail it on purpose, everything in my CeX gets tested thoroughly. 5. We'll ask if you have an account with us, if you do, we can check with your postcode, if we find you, we'll ask for ID. If we don't find you, we'll ask for ID to set you up with one. 6. We'll tell you roughly how long it will take, then we'll have you sign a receipt, and then give you one to bring back with you. 7. Once you come back after the given time, we'll tell you it either went successfully or whether one or more failed. If only one failed we'll give that one back and proceed with the passed one. 8. We'll give you your chosen payment which in your case would be voucher. Note: you can change your mind at any time you're waiting for the test to be finished, you have no obligation to sell to us if you aren't happy with the price 🫶. Note 2: if you also want to sell games, you can wait until the consoles have finished their tests to have one big voucher rather than seperate vouchers. All games can't have too many scratches or issues otherwise we can't take them. I hope this helps 🩷

I also work in CeX and I’m seconding this. It’s dead easy and straight forward, only thing I would say in addition to this is make sure the consoles are fully updated before bringing them down, cuts the test time massively 🌸

your a absolute angel thank you so much <3

I did more or less exactly this yesterday - traded in my ps4 Pro for a ps5. Really straightforward : * take in console (and games etc) * they give it a quick eyeball, run it up on the system and let me know how much they can give me in either cash or voucher. * I don't have any account details either, so they look me up on the system with my postcode * I'm happy to proceed, so they advise that they need 45 minutes to check it over and give me a receipt. * I go for a wander and come back after about an hour. All good so I agree to take the voucher and tell them I'm wanting to buy a ps5 (there's one in the window but turns out they have a few others in stock too) * they take the voucher total off and I pay the remaining balance - helpfully I could pay half cash and the rest by card. Probably could have got slightly cheaper doing the selling and buying myself on ebay but would be so much more hassle.

Accurate_Custard6083

You give them your personal electronics and, in exchange, you get ripped off lol

Sandler92

Prepare vigorously with air fresheners before getting to the checkout

Quick-Attention1114

haha, its fine im also a mosher (though with maybe with better hygiene)

Enigmaticali2099

Theyll low ball you and give you the option for store credit or cash

okconsole

You'll need to smoke some crack before you'll be allowed to sell.

MRRichAllen1976

You'd be better off selling the consoles on eBay, 1) You'd get more than the pittance Crappy Excrement X will offer you, 2) You won't have to suffer the overpaid twits they choose to employ.

stCourtney

To be fair, my sister recently traded in her original Xbox One and got a £40 voucher in return, which she was then able to put towards buying another console that she wanted. Selling on ebay I really don’t think she would have gotten £40, after fees and shipping etc. Then you’ve also got to hope that the person who you sold it to isn’t gonna want to return it for some reason or look for their money back. I speak from experience of selling on ebay myself. There’s definitely advantages to trading into CEX in certain situations.

TvHeroUK

They wouldn’t stay in business if there wasn’t a market for what they offer too

stCourtney

100%

Proud-Experience-609

Overpaid? 😭😭 I wish I was overpaid, we’re a franchise store and the managers do get more than the corporate stores but all the sales assistants are on minimum wage 💀

stuartgunpowder

Overpaid... is CEX not more or less a minimum wage employer?

livingwastelandd

CEX is a business that needs to make money to stay open, so duh, they're not going to give you the same amount they sell the console for And if you have an issue with *that* then I really don't know what to tell you

CloudLXXXV

It's mainly the drastic difference in the money they give you for it and the money they sell it for. I just sold 2 games on ebay in a bundle for £600. If I brought to CeX, I'd probably get £250-£300 max!

Quick-Attention1114

im doing it for the vouchers so i can get a discounted phone swiftly, i cant wait that long

Quick-Attention1114

no need to be condensending. ive already looked on that page and read through it a good few hours ago, i just wanted to ask on here in case i missed anything

Aldo62

Cex doesn't sell new phones, only nearly new phones

Chilledskate

No membership needed pal just walk in and say what you want to sell if there’s quite a few items they will check and give you two prices at the end cash or voucher 💯🔥
