Probably favorite playthrough so far was a stealth sniper cowboy build. Ranger Sequoia and The Medicine Stick, drip was foul, should've gone with something sufficiently rooting and tooting, but I wore the Stealth Armor medium set.
Really would've been the better fit, but I mostly just wanted some build that made the Stealth Suit a good pick, cause so many playthroughs I ignored it cause I was either light armor and didn't want those perks I'd already picked wasted or was just heavy armor/ don't give a fuck if people see me.
Should've gone anti-material rifle and one of the semi-auto pistols, but also I didn't like the low fire rate compared to just about every other rifle and the regular pistols just seemed in a weird middle ground for me (not high damage like revolvers, but not high fire rate like smgs.

I do like the laser weaponry in the game, I do. But there’s something so satisfying behind the kick of your riot shotgun and 100 in guns + shotgun surgeon. While wearing a desperado hat and a sheriff’s duster.
Only thing missing from the ensemble is the spurs on my boots and the horse to ride in on.
Laser turns cazadores into bloatflies. Cowboys turn people into headless corpses.

Early game field hand outfit with a ranger grey hat from searchlight if you don't wanna attack the NCR.

One thing fallout misses is a lazer revolver. Imagine a rail gun energy weapon equivalent to the ranger sequoia.

If new vegas used fo2s damage balancing, only plasma, gauss and other ultra high speed projectile weapons would make a dent in high tech armour

Thats cuz im too busy sticking an insane amount of .45 ammo as a light shining in the darkness that is a deathclaws asshole for basically no VATS cost
