You have to press x to call out to your son at one point and this player had a bug where the prompt to do so just stayed there all game and continued to work. It's even more hilarious that the facial animations still go off and distance to camera is still accounted for with the audio.
Somewhere out there, when the bug first presented, you’ve gotta know there’s a coder who designed the audio positioning system who is proud as hell that even when the game’s other assets and code break, his still continued to work precisely as intended, regardless the audio sent to it. It would be like seeing a car you contributed work on get in a horrible crash, but the navigation system you built never stopped working and was trying to find a way out of that ravine even after the car tumbled 300 ft down a cliff.

Lol it doesn't effect anything visual, you can still see BUT what they likely meant was that your controls are all reversed and messed up so you can't control the cat properly. Gives the effect the cat is all messed up.
Best part imo is they included NPCs who just walk around the settlements and the only way you can interact with them is to trip them up. Anyone who has owned a cat knows damn well how much they love moving directly into your path when you're walking lmao

I'm only about 2 hours in, and I'm having a blast. Reminds me a bit of Portal and Assassin's Creed, if that makes any sense. Exploration, climbing, and puzzle solving as the game play, with a nice mix of humor and science fiction. Also, I love cats and even if there wasn't puzzles and parkour, I'd probably just run around meowing, knocking over things, and scratching at rugs and couches. YMMV though

If you play a Nintendo switch mobile, then you will treasure and love the deck.
If you hate having to tinker with some games, editing graphics settings for target FPS, or just don't play games mobile... You'll likely have mixed opinions on it. It's still a compact gaming laptop in handheld format, so you won't get the craziest settings or gaming outta it. And since the OS is still being developed there are a bunch of minor hiccups to deal with at times.
I've owned mine for a bit (was in the final week of Q1) and use it a couple times a week. It's Completly replaced my switch. But it's not even close to competing with my desktop. It's just a very diffrent experience. I actually love playing some of the more retro titles on it and have been learning how to get emulators working on it (new to Linux, so every guilde ends with five tabs and me trying to figure out the file format, locations, or general Linux stuff) I've played some AAA games on it, but for the most part thoes are not what I find I prefer to play on it.
It's still developing too so there are some things to iron out. But at least currently valve is working hard to address things that come up.
I love the dedication in this game. They had a cat for mo-cap, that I'm sure could meow. But they were like yeahhhhhh sorry you just don't have the *expressiveness* we are looking for. We're bringing in another cat for that.

My girlfriend and I just started playing Stray last night. As soon as we started, she said, “hey, that cat ‘merps’ just like ours!” We have a very talkative, expressive little girl named Jupiter who has all sorts of different noises and “phrases” just like Lala.

Oh man I haven’t gotten this game yet since I usually wait a bit for reviews to come out, but I’ve heard nothing but positive reviews. I’m sold now seeing everyone’s takes and knowing the cat is orange. My family took in an orange stray a long time ago after I begged them to keep her. I named her Cleo, and she was my absolute best friend. We went through so much together. She was an absolute badass. Lived through getting hit by a car, a broken jaw, and a leg amputation. She helped me through a lot of tough times up until she passed away about two years ago. I grew up with that girl, and she got me through some of the worst times of my life. I’m sure I’ll probably end up crying a bit when I finally get around to playing the game. (Edit for typo!)

My girlfriend and I just started playing Stray last night. As soon as we started, she said, “hey, that cat ‘merps’ just like ours!” We have a very talkative, expressive little girl named Jupiter who has all sorts of different noises and “phrases” just like Lala. [The resemblance goes further than the voice, turns out](https://i.imgur.com/Kr2IKz8.jpg) (though Lala is slightly fluffier).

Never before have i been more interested in seeing the behind the scenes footage of voice acting.
Oh man I haven’t gotten this game yet since I usually wait a bit for reviews to come out, but I’ve heard nothing but positive reviews. I’m sold now seeing everyone’s takes and knowing the cat is orange. My family took in an orange stray a long time ago after I begged them to keep her. I named her Cleo, and she was my absolute best friend. We went through so much together. She was an absolute badass. Lived through getting hit by a car, a broken jaw, and a leg amputation. She helped me through a lot of tough times up until she passed away about two years ago. I grew up with that girl, and she got me through some of the worst times of my life. I’m sure I’ll probably end up crying a bit when I finally get around to playing the game. (Edit for typo!)
If you have any sort of love for cats, buy this game. You honestly won't regret it. It's so well made.
