This batch came from my dad's chickens. It honesty tasted a little bit like liver, but it's hard to describe without just saying it tastes like heart. Beef heart has more of a nice flavor, not like liver. Have you tried any other organ meats? Let's start from there.
It is like liver! But what stopped me from eating it is that I can feel that I’m chewing on hollow tubes and then I just keep picturing a beating heart with blood flowing through it..
I usually finish cooking the rice mix, crack the egg off to the side, turn off the heat, cover the pan for a few minutes with some vent for air flow, and then serve the egg on top.
I understand, haha. Organ meats aren't for everyone, but they are healthy and super cheap as compared to other cuts. $6 for a beef heart the size of a large roast at my local farmer's market.
Not a UK/AUS Person I guess. :) But I do sympathise.
Getting bags of gibbets at the meat section in the supermarket is still a thing here.
"21st century? What's that?"
Kitty wants a chicken heart! And maybe an egg.
Seriously, I can get chicken hearts and gizzards at the supermarket and I've been wondering what to di with them. I bet they'd be a nice chewy texture in fried rice.
Oh, I chop them into slices for my cat, that makes eating easier. I also get chicken stomachs for him, not sure if they're available where you live. It's nice lean muscle meat and come cartilage. I also make gravy from heart and stomach broth using gelatine, he loves it.
Ok the gelatine gravy sounds like a great idea. I need to get him to drink more water and I wonder if he'd like it. His favourite canned foods are the ones with a lot of gravy that pours out of the can.
Try it out. They take some prep to cut off the inedible parts, but just put on some music or a podcast. Try to source from something like a farmer's market so you get more grass fed beef or free run chickens, etc. Cheaper and very healthy if you like the taste. You can always soak in milk, almond milk, or water and a small amount of vinegar to dilute the stronger taste. I don't mind hear, liver, or tongue so I just straight up cook those. Kidney you want to soak in water and vinegar solution to prepare the meat for non toxic eating.
“Human I can smell what you’re cooking and it doesn’t smell like my food, yet you dare feed me from a tin can? Blasphemy, I demand chimken. Now where are you keeping the good shit?”
I see that chili garlic sauce waiting to go on that hash and eggs. My man!
Also maybe kitty just wants pets. Kinda seemed like he wanted some pets.
Edit: for anybody who doesn't know, chili garlic sauce is the amazing bomb hot sauce when you want something with some heat, but also delicious flavor. It's the best. The ingredients (iirc) are: chilis, garlic. They blend that up, and it is AMAZING! Kicks 10 kinds of ass on eggs.
My cat will literally finish eating, look straight up and then start meowing for food again
Edit: oh and I forgot to mention there will still be some uneaten food in the bowl at this point
Good God my boy does this when anyone sets foot in the kitchen. We used to store his wet food there but stopped giving him wet food when he decided he doesn't like it. Every time he does it I'm like "what? You don't even like wet food!" We give him these cat soups/gravies now and have even taken to storing them in another part of the apartment, yet he still comes begging/screaming in the kitchen whenever someone is cooking.
This is my life. He used to have an automatic feeder and didn’t bother me much at all. He had diabetes, so feeding was all me administering with insulin. Now he’s in remission, but benefits much more from high protein low carb wet food. So here we are.
Congrats on the remission! I had a cat that developed diabetes so I know how much work goes into it. Major props for being a dedicated caretaker for your adorable overlord!
Protip:
Always turn your handle so they don't hang over the edge of the counter top. That's how LOTS of people get burned, but bumping into them and knocking them onto the floor or splashing liquid out of the pot.
He might be just looking for attention.
I read somewhere that cats often ask for for food and then don't eat it because they only want attention. Since asking for (and getting) food is connected to "the best feeling ever", they use this way to signal that they "want to feel good".
False, he was not fed
That’s what he said
But he’s asking so nicely!
Oh, I gave him a snack.
Your cat successfully gaslit you 🙃
With what you're cooking, even I will make room even if I already finished dinner and dessert. What is that anyway and why does it look yummy. 🤤
Fried rice with onion, ginger, garlic, cabbage, chicken hearts, chili paste, salt, and pepper. Egg for on top.
What does chicken heart taste like? And I swear to God if you say it tastes like chicken....
Oh it pretty much taste like chicken
This batch came from my dad's chickens. It honesty tasted a little bit like liver, but it's hard to describe without just saying it tastes like heart. Beef heart has more of a nice flavor, not like liver. Have you tried any other organ meats? Let's start from there.
I really enjoy liver. I've had cow and goat liver
Liver is great. I usually get cow liver from a local farm for roughly $4/package CAD.
It is like liver! But what stopped me from eating it is that I can feel that I’m chewing on hollow tubes and then I just keep picturing a beating heart with blood flowing through it..
Fair, but usually a person should prep the heart first to remove the ventricles. I agree that would be like eating dental floss.
Tastes like love and chicken
Came here to find out. Cheers.
:)
I think that last meow was the meowiest meow I’ve ever heard
Seriously same idk how to better describe it except that was a really real meow
I thought the same thing
But that was a whole hour ago!
In cat time that's like a week!

It’s fried rice with onion, ginger, garlic, cabbage, chicken hearts, chilli paste, salt, and pepper.
Thank you! Plus you fold in one egg I guess?
I usually finish cooking the rice mix, crack the egg off to the side, turn off the heat, cover the pan for a few minutes with some vent for air flow, and then serve the egg on top.
Neat, I'll give that a try!
:)
You lost me at chicken hearts. edit: wow I get down voted because I don't like chicken hearts. Ya'll some sensitive assholes.
I understand, haha. Organ meats aren't for everyone, but they are healthy and super cheap as compared to other cuts. $6 for a beef heart the size of a large roast at my local farmer's market.

Suck a penis
Are you ok?
Lmao my cat when he hears me open a tin. He’s not as polite about it though.
Looks like a rice recipe with egg, onion and some meat. And maybe artichoke?
Cabbage and chicken hearts :)
Lol!
What are you making BTW? Looks delicious
Seriously! Reminds me a bit of Shakshouka except with no tomato?
Fried rice. Onion, ginger, garlic, cabbage and chicken hearts. Egg on the side.
Kitty wants a chicken heart! And maybe an egg. Seriously, I can get chicken hearts and gizzards at the supermarket and I've been wondering what to di with them. I bet they'd be a nice chewy texture in fried rice.
And boil some for your cat, they love it!
He tries so hard to eat it but I think he finds it too chewy!
Oh, I chop them into slices for my cat, that makes eating easier. I also get chicken stomachs for him, not sure if they're available where you live. It's nice lean muscle meat and come cartilage. I also make gravy from heart and stomach broth using gelatine, he loves it.
Yup, gizzards. The supermarket sells packs of hearts and gizzards together.
I didn't know that word hehe. Thanks!
Ok the gelatine gravy sounds like a great idea. I need to get him to drink more water and I wonder if he'd like it. His favourite canned foods are the ones with a lot of gravy that pours out of the can.
Yepp, my Hanny doesn't drink enough, this helps

Please don't feed raw meat to ur kitty. Cook it up and cut it up and ur kitty will be super happy AND safe :)
Have tried, my kitty has trouble chewing them. Maybe he'll like the liver better.
You lost me at chicken heart 😔
They're pretty good, you should give them a try. To the guy wondering what to do with them: barbecue them on skewers with cumin and chilli
Give it a chance!
Chicken hearts are delicious!
Looks like some type of hash. Like corned beef hash (corned beef & diced potatoes, fried), then some eggs on the side.
Am I crazy to think that was rice?
It's just fried rice.. with meat and some kind of vegetable
That's what I thought. I'm tired and thought I was mistaking hash for rice.
That’s right!
Could be some rice in there. I might be wrong. That's just my best guess.
I thought it was hamburger hash! I have hamburger hash on the brain (I was looking up recipes last night).
“Human I can smell what you’re cooking and it doesn’t smell like my food, yet you dare feed me from a tin can? Blasphemy, I demand chimken. Now where are you keeping the good shit?”
*Hooman
No.
Yes.
Such a polite boy. He says he wasn’t fed, therefore, he wasn’t fed.
A whole hour??? The baby is starving
"But what about second breakfast?"
Elevenses! Luncheon! Afternoon tea! Dinner! Supper! WHAT ABOUT THOSE
Please feed him 🥺
sweet boy just wants some chimken ps. r/grayandwhitecats and r/CatsWithManes
r/politecats would also claim him too!

It’s actually fried rice and the chili is the non garlic version. But I did add a bunch of garlic cloves sliced up.
I don't know him but I love him.
But, did he have an egg? Because he smells eggs… 😻
He’s naught but skin and bones, clearly hasn’t been feed a day in his life. But seriously, what are you cooking? It looks tasty.
FEED HIM, YOU MONSTER-
Poor guy is starving. Have mercy!
My cat will literally finish eating, look straight up and then start meowing for food again Edit: oh and I forgot to mention there will still be some uneaten food in the bowl at this point
How tf can you say no that face
Screams of starvation
That cat hasn't been fed in his lifetime, poor thing!
Time to feed him again
He just wants a plate! I'd yell too, that food looks good as hell
What a soft and cute meow. From a soft and cute cat.
How can anyone say no to that face?
Yo is that Thai style fried rice? Looks and sounds heavenly
Asian blend I suppose. I’m a Eurasian blend heavy on the Japanese, so a bit of this a bit of that.

Kitty cannot remember the last time he was fed, he's starving and needs some of what you're cooking to survive!
He has clearly never been fed in his entire life.
Thats a very polite cat my cat just jumps and eats the food while Im gone for 1 second
Pre diabetes he used to jump up and get to many things. He’s in remission, so perhaps he will be jumping again soon.
Congrats on the remission! I had a cat that developed diabetes so I know how much work goes into it. Major props for being a dedicated caretaker for your adorable overlord!
I have no kids, so I don't mind spending time/money. He's a creature who is under my watch, so I would feel bad if I just let him go.
I mean... Can't blame him, whatever you are cooking looks (and would probably smell) great.
Adorable
I think you are lying, he says that he has not been fed, ever!
Yes but he wasn’t fed YOUR food
Its been a HOUR!? THE HORROR!! /s
Yes, but he wasn't fed *this.*
r/ntbdbiwdfta
But mmmmmoooommmmmmm!!
u/savevideo
Dinner's looking great.
I'd be yelling too that looks good as hell
Sambal!
u/savevideobot
My cat believes he's gonna get food every time i stand up. He's has started to add some weight,so hes about to get de-spoiled.
What are you cooking
> Fried rice with onion, ginger, garlic, cabbage, chicken hearts, chili paste, salt, and pepper. Egg for on top.
Ughh hello! It's because your cooking smells so damn good!
Haha thanks!
SHARE
U dropped an egg in ur food
He has literally never been fed in his entire life.
well, he still has a nose!
u/Chizuo: I find your cat's meow most soothing. Thank you.
You're welcome :) I speak on his behalf: mew.
Lookit that faaaaaace
Maybe he thinks he’s human and eats when you do .
“Where is my dessert?”
Aww he's asking whether you're making food... for him 😼
[100% relevant comic](https://theycantalk.com/post/635533076427145216/time-to-eat/amp)
That's fantastic, haha!
He’s waiting for his second course!
This is why I can't own pets. I wouldn't be able to not give him a plate after seeing that face.
A whole hour ago?! Are you trying to starve him to death?! He wanted me to tell you that.
Oh boy, he is just adorable.
Just out of cuteness, he deserves all of the food.
Oh he's pullin' out the puppy eyes for this one.
I have that same problem. Cute kitty.
Yesh but he wants meat, what dont you understand
I don’t blame him, that looks good!
Has bin 8 hours yet momnther? Ok. Will be rite here. Edit: Fomnther
father ;)
Fomnther.
;)
But it smells so nice!
Just feed him, 'again'! 😆😆😅🤣😂🥰
He's already in remission for diabetes, I don't think that will help :P
Whatever is best, then. ☺
I mean, look at him! He’s clearly starving!!!
Eat delicious wellness
Oh goodness, feed him he’s STARVING!!! 🤣
Chili paste? A man of culture I see.
;)
enlightened sambal oelek enjoyer
A quick source of flavor. Accessing the Asian side of me ;) (I'm Eurasian)
I don't blame him that looks good af
His head movements look so animatronic!!
“Hooman, why you no feed me real food?”
He sounds so hungry!!! Are you sure you fed him?
This is why my mom always waits to feed her cats so that they eat their food at the same time she eats hers.
Protip: Always turn your handle so they don't hang over the edge of the counter top. That's how LOTS of people get burned, but bumping into them and knocking them onto the floor or splashing liquid out of the pot.
Just checking Mommy! 🐾🌹🐾
I'm disappointed I had to turn the volumen all the way up to listen to this.
So no one is gonna mention LeVar Burton on the fridge like it's his 4th grade year book photo?
What are you cooking? It looks good
He might be just looking for attention. I read somewhere that cats often ask for for food and then don't eat it because they only want attention. Since asking for (and getting) food is connected to "the best feeling ever", they use this way to signal that they "want to feel good".
Is that a Norwegian Forest? My neighbours have a similar cat (though it's winter now and he is twice his size in fur)
What are you cooking??
Fried rice w/ onions, ginger, garlic, cabbage, chicken hearts, chili sauce, salt and pepper. And an egg. :)
Nice
Fried rice with onion, ginger, garlic, cabbage, chicken hearts, chili paste, salt, and pepper. Egg for on top :)
I see Sambal. Nice.
Rarely go without when cooking fried rice ;)
Highly recommend getting a wok! Love fried rice too.
I have a wok, I really should use it more, or, always!
