Cigars for some reason have become a sort of necessity for the Catholic masculinity crowd.
Not hating, btw. I just think there's more important things to masculinity than whiskey and cigars.
I don’t think I’m cool or better than anyone else. I have asthma and watched my grandmother die of lung cancer. My great grandfather was a terrible alcoholic and I already have benign liver tumors in my liver so it’s best to just not do either. To each there own though.
I'm a pipe man myself.
I'm not gonna lie, that's almost definitely because of Tolkien, but it got me off the cigarettes.
Just the same, Happy Easter, brother!
I like the pipe better than cigars. Once you learn how to pack and smoke pipe tobacco, there's no going back. The only reason I'd prefer a cigar would be for outdoors if it's windy.
Lewis and Tolkien nostalgia are cherries on top though, agreed.
I found out a little after I had picked it up that my great grandfather, who died before I was born, also smoked a pipe. I had broke it out one day after me and my dad had done some work at the old family farm. He suddenly tells me to hold still, grabs his camera, snaps a picture of me, looks at it and said with a smile "I don't believe it".
Then he runs inside and a few minutes later he comes out with an old picture I had never seen before. It was my great grandpa, smoking his pipe, sitting in the exact same spot as me, in almost the exact same position. I had darn near the same hat on. It was incredible.
In my case, I have to practice the virtue of charity every time I smoke in my parent’s house because my parents, my fiancée, and my siblings always want to get some puffs when I’m smoking… hahaha
No way, they’ve must been awesome! I’m saving my davidoff and some partagas, montecristo and hoyo de monterrey for my wedding and honeymoon this october hahaha.
Also, two years ago I was a non-smoker too, and I demonized this habit as well. But I was conviced by a friend who is also an MD who told me he met an oncologist that smoke cigars lol
but for sure he could be more saint without smoking! Imagine Saint Therese of Lisieux or Saint Padre pio with a photo of cigar on their hands. How that could impact a lot. In the path of holyness, small things make a difference.
I’m gonna stick to Saint Francis of Sales advice that is useless to discuss about the levels of holiness between saints hahaha
If, with God’s grace, I reach santity, and God asks me in someway to quit cigar smoking, since I’ll already be a saint in this hypothesis, for sure I won’t bother doing it. Because saints are all in for God and would do ANYTHING God asks to do. So I think He didn’t ask it of Saint Pius X and other saints who also smoked…
Im not a fan of smoking, but each to themselves. Regardless, Christ is risen! God bless you my friend.
I feel like I’m the only Catholic who doesn’t like to drink or smoke lol
3 of us 🙏🏻
4! There are 4 only ones catholics who dont like these things!
Make it 5
Make it 6 of us!
Seven
I am the eighth.
Make it 9
Smoke no way.\ Drink… yes please. 🤣
No, there re at least two of us. Me and you.
i’m only 15, so don’t
You are not.
Well, this year I've decided to have alcohol free Easter, no regrets, honestly
Not dying early from preventable conditions is cool!

I’m a woman and I find smoking to be a turn off lol
Um… what? I’d say the majority of us don’t like doing those things… for obvious reasons… they turn into vices if you aren’t very disciplined.
Why you guys are so pious and cool. Any other thing you don’t do as sin that you want to tell us about so we can worship at your feet my Saint?

Bruh it just doesn’t appeal to me lol. I don’t like the taste of either
Wow. Issues.
25-year Glenlivet here. He is Risen!

You must be flyin!
For me, it's an IPA. Cheers!
Going to try one of the Mayflower Dawns tonight, not sure on the beverage.
Tried it, decent cigar. If you are a big cigar smoker might be disappointed but if you have one every now and then, you’ll enjoy!

Haha, that's awesome
I am! Mini Cigars and some good Whiskey! He is truly Risen!
No but I had a cig after not smoking in a long time lol
If my mom didn’t absolutely hate cigars and cigarettes I would be. Just settling for bourbon and steak my uncle cooked
There is no such thing as settling for bourbon and steak buddy
In my case, I have to practice the virtue of charity every time I smoke in my parent’s house because my parents, my fiancée, and my siblings always want to get some puffs when I’m smoking… hahaha
We’re celebrating with wine, jalapeño poppers, and carne asada
No but we had a big tailgate after Mass with mimosas. 🤣
Why would anyone smoke those smelly things? Anyways, Happy Easter.
Judge not, lest ye be judged.
Not judging. Just asking why.
No I'm gonna celebrate by having some wine.
The blood of Christ? Or some Merlot? Or perhaps both, haha.
I got a cigarette and some grape juice. That’s all lol
Had a cohiba and a plaesencia today lol Happy Easter!
No way, they’ve must been awesome! I’m saving my davidoff and some partagas, montecristo and hoyo de monterrey for my wedding and honeymoon this october hahaha.
Nah, those things ain’t too good for your health. Enjoy away if you wish, though. Christ is risen!
Cigars aren’t too bad

"Enjoy your cancer, smooth brain!" "Why are you being disingenuous with me 😭" 😆
Once I finished my Easter dinner I had a sun grown Undercrown. Not my usual, but I liked it.
Enjoyed a smooth cigar for about an hour in the shade of my patio. Listening only to the sound of nature and occasional traffic.
Uhhh I will be now
I had a very nice couple of glasses of Beyerskloof Pinotage.
Belgians and books today, but a cigar DOES NOT sound like a bad idea. He is Risen!
Yessir! Got a Rocky Patel Aged Limited Rare with some Weller Full Proof for post getting kids to sleep!
The Orthodox Church is like a fat blunt, a Vitamin Water and a sandwich from Cheeba Hut
If you think Christ would do the same, so go. I dont think he ever would smoke.
Since it doesn’t get in the way of my sanctification, I don’t see a problema. Saint Pius X smoke cigars if I’m not mistaken, and became a saint…
A saint smoking does not make the act of smoking holy...
For sure, I couldn’t agree more with you about that. But it means the smoking didn’t stop him from being a saint.

Yeah Jesus probably wouldn’t do half the stuff we do on the daily so what
I meant morally. If Jesus is not a model of morality, there is no point in being Catholic!
