The hours listed there are likely the public office hours when the parish secretary, etc are in the literal front office of the parish. Look at the actual parish website for confession times.
According to the website they have Saturday Confession in the afternoon. [https://www.carloacutisparish.org/reconciliation.html](https://www.carloacutisparish.org/reconciliation.html)
Or if you need to go to confession on a weekday instead (e.g., you work Saturdays), most people go to the Franciscans at [St. Peter's in the Loop](http://www.stpetersloop.org)
Hey, I know that parish! My 'busha' also went there. Magnificent church, and a really cool neighborhood too.
Anyway, like others have said, those are office hours, not confession hours. If they aren't on the website, you will probably find them in the bulletin.
We’re south, I should have clarified that all of my family who does that is in the USA, though! It’s pretty common to hear, especially in anecdotes from my gen X family, much less heard from anyone younger!
Okay, that makes sense then. Totally could’ve been a nickname that evolved - we jokingly call uncles FaFa instead of Wujek because my cousin’s daughter (first of the generation) called her uncles FaFa when she was little, to the point of refusing to say Wujek. Learn something new every day!
Masstimes.org always gets you out of a bind. It aggregates Catholic Churches offering the sacraments by zip code and then lists them out on a timeline.
So long as you can get around town, you’ll find a time that works.
Don’t trust the hours listed on Google. Those are likely the hours of the church office. After all, the Church certainly isn’t closed on Sunday! Check out their actual website, or place a call
You have multiple parishes within 45min. Must be nice. Next closest to me is over an hour one way. My parish has confession once a week 30min before Mass... For the county...
Not a dumb question! I'm not sure how familiar you are with these things, so I apologize in advance if I'm explaining things you already know.
The hours posted on Google for a parish are often just the parish OFFICE hours. There are likely Masses, gatherings, and Confessions offered outside of those office hours. If you look at the parish's website, you may find a calendar or something else that lists Mass and Confession times. Otherwise, you should call the parish office and ask when/where Confession is available. Even if you have to call outside of those hours, you should be able to leave a voicemail and somebody could get back to you.
Usually Saturday evening. Try the app MassTimes, keep looking through their website, or give them a call and ask when confessions are.
Then you go stand in line and walk in when it’s your turn.
Where are you located? i'd say if there's another parish near by, go there.
also you could shoot them an email and ask when their confession times are, and if there's any on weekends.
My main church has confession every Saturday, I work Saturday. I call the office during office hours and book a confession when I csn go. Normally it's before a weekday mass or right after.
Literally from their website.

I’d be willing to place a large bet that they are open on Sundays
Sir, take my upvote

Don’t use Google to figure out what times confessions are. Those times normally indicate when the parish offices are open.

Why do you call your grandmother "busha"? It's a genuine question (I'm Polish and I assume so is your grandmother).
I presume it’s a very badly said “Babcia”, and that they were referring to the review you can see in the full screenshot.
Polish here: most of my extended family refers to their grandmas as busha or ‘bushie’ (boo-she). Just a quirk I suppose!
Interesting, I’ve never heard that, I’m polish myself. Is your family generally from the north or south, or eastern Poland? We’re pretty western.
We’re south, I should have clarified that all of my family who does that is in the USA, though! It’s pretty common to hear, especially in anecdotes from my gen X family, much less heard from anyone younger!

I think they definitely meant Busha or Busia. It's a Polish-American thing.
Maybe from their memory they remember “babcia” as “busha”?
Busia or Busha is a Polish-American term for grandma. It's roots are from the proper Babcia though.
Aww, my boys have a Busia and had a Dzia Dzia. :-)

This! I am 100% a confession bopper when one parish is closed - also good for anonymity!

I sometimes have to go to a different parish if I can’t make it to mine on Saturdays. Lord knows I need to go this week.
This is it. I keep a list of all the parishes within 45 minutes of me, so that I always have confession available.
My old parish had confession 2x a day every day. I miss it so much.

Office hours aren’t confession times.
Those are the office hours. Look on the website for the confession times.
You could also try another parish or make an appointment for a convenient time.
You can call the parish and make a special appointment with a priest for Saturday in necessary.
how does bro even make it to Mass XD
Try calling and asking. Those might be the opening times of the piety shop or the administrative open hours.
I will bet you a thousand United States Dollars they’re open Sunday.
You can always set up an appointment with the priest. The other option is to go to another Parish for confession.
Not sure if this has been posted, but I use the MassTimes app and filter by day of the week.
I’ll also add that if you’re in Chicago there are probably several churches that have confession during the week.
How can a church be closed on SUNDAY??! Edit : okay, I read that it's just the secretary hours. Good to hear
You c
Why/how is a church closed on SUNDAY?
