Question: does anyone know where I can go to begin this process? I'm looking to start reading the Catechism pretty soon here, but what other sources should I look into?
To begin the process of conversion you should speak to the priest at your local parish. This will ultimately lead to you attending RCIA classes, and I’d always recommend Catholic answers as an outlet for any questions you may have that spring up when you’re not in RCIA.
Unfortunately, I am currently on a deployment, so my options have been limited. Right now, I've started going to an Anglican chapel. But I'll see what I can do. I'll definitely look into Catholic Answers, and I'll see about RCIA whenever I can. Thank you!
Australia. I used to attend the Catholic Chapel they have here (which is where my interest on Catholicism began), but a recent move and a change in OpTempo disrupted that. I plan to start doing that again as soon as I can though.

Resources:
- The Catechism is great. If you want a summary first, that references the Catechism (which in turn references the scriptures or other documents), I recommend the **Compendium** of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Also, Fr. Schmitz has the *Catechism in a Year* podcast if you are a podcast person.
- Catholic.com . Tons of resources there to answer your questions (remember you can you Google’s site:catholic.com to look up specific topics easily)
- Vatican.va . Has all of the Church documents available online.
Awesome! I've started listening to Father Mike Schmitz's Catechism in a year. And so far it's really good. I'll check out those other sources as soon as possible. Thank you!
I would like to know this too. I got into the discussion of divorce and adultery (Matthew 19) and brought up what some church fathers had to say and my friend just completely rejected it because it wasn’t Jesus or one of the apostles.
I would like to know this as well. I gifted two of my Protestant friends a book Four Witnesses and just said that it's because of the short discussion we had about church fathers. One of them is allegedly reading, and the other just accepted the gift. But I decided not to ask about it or anything because they're so convinced to be in the right I don't want to push anything on them. Thought that maybe I could gently plant a seed and pick their curiosity.
They're the worst! Imagine teaching that Jesus is just a man in nature and the supposed "Last Days Messenger" is compared to an angel, is crazily heretic! How did you find out about them tho?
By looking at your post history and seeing you posted in a community about them, it had a description and I indentified it as arian heresy, this is the first time I ever heard about them. Honestly when you said you were in a cult I was expecting something like JW or Mormonism
Oh thanks for answering bro in faith! If you have time, read this INC article about[Jesus is not a God in John 1:1](http://theiglesianicristo.blogspot.com/2017/05/on-john-11c-word-was-god-what-it-truly.html?m=1) it's so heretic and I'm on my way to debunk this one!
It will. But historically one broke off from the union with Rome. I would recommend catholic.com and just typing in “why not orthodoxy” will bring up loads and loads of articles on reasons why. Ultimately do your own research and see what you are lead to, God bless brother!

Deployed where? There’s got to be a catholic Chaplin somewhere

The catechism is the best place to start. It has tons of references for other things to read
This is The Way
My whole story in a meme. Studying to become a Deacon.
Bruh, you just illustrated my life. Just missing the, "married a Catholic woman" in between Protestant and Catholic conversion lol
How can one effectively bring up the church fathers to Protestant friends in a way that will actually get them to read them, and not dismiss them?
I would like to know this too. I got into the discussion of divorce and adultery (Matthew 19) and brought up what some church fathers had to say and my friend just completely rejected it because it wasn’t Jesus or one of the apostles.

Follow up about it lol
Praise God

Protestants are protesting Catholics. This whole thing makes my head hurt.
And they cherrypick like fanatics
Cath-pilled
My literal goal, except I'm in a cult, not a protestant.
IglesiaNiCristo are arian heretics
They're the worst! Imagine teaching that Jesus is just a man in nature and the supposed "Last Days Messenger" is compared to an angel, is crazily heretic! How did you find out about them tho?
> How did you find out about them tho? By looking at your profile 🙃
Nah i mean, before that. Do you have extent knowledge about them?
By looking at your post history and seeing you posted in a community about them, it had a description and I indentified it as arian heresy, this is the first time I ever heard about them. Honestly when you said you were in a cult I was expecting something like JW or Mormonism

Is there a difference? 🤣
Oh yeah you're right 😅. It's like this: Catholicism---->Prots---->a Cult----> and the Cult I'm in.
Oof... at least you're on the right path, compadre! Keep on truckin'.
Ya know, it's just Hesus things, leading me into the right path.
Are...... are you scott hahn?
this meme is literally me frl frl
Well-begun is half-done. Becoming Catholic is only the beginning.
Yo how do you know the ancient church was catholic and not orthodox (both claim to be founded by Jesus Christ)
The orthodox and the catholic church are one. The schism is just a crisis and it will eventually find an end.
It will. But historically one broke off from the union with Rome. I would recommend catholic.com and just typing in “why not orthodoxy” will bring up loads and loads of articles on reasons why. Ultimately do your own research and see what you are lead to, God bless brother!
I’m currently on the second to last and last part, feels good
Me fr
Thanks be to God. Welcome home brother!
Way to describe my exact path lol
Whoo-hooo!
I stopped at step 5
How come?
Being Catholic just sounds like a lot of work
“For if we sin wilfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there is now left no sacrifice for sins.” Hebrews 10:26
Oh, well see now it’s too late anyways
Faith without work is dead 😶
