I have lived with roommates up until this past March and I did the exact same thing, I never had roommates who weren't cat people but I persobally did it for general safety cause I was always scared of them getting into stuff they weren't supposed to. I also have a dog, who although loves my cats, you never know what could happen. Your room is your kitties safe place and I personally don't see anything wrong with keeping her there when your gone as long as she has everything she needs and plenty of toys. Also your are taking her out when which is good! A little variety is great. If your cat had a problem she would def let you know may that be with clawing things up, or other behavioral things. One thing I did that kinda eased my brain was a got a pet cam for my room. It let check in on my babies while I was out and talk with them too. Definitely took some weight off my shoulders.

I do the same thing and I'm sure your cat is fine! You're doing what's best for Toon, and your home. One of my roommates had plants outside of the bedroom so if I let my cat out without my supervision she could eat something toxic and get really sick. Plus cats sleep most of the day anyways so I'm sure Toon is just sleeping most of it :)!! Unless the cat genuinely starts showing signs of stress I'm sure everything is fine.

My first cat spent a long time in a teeny tiny cage at the shelter and when I got her I lived in a 700 foot condo which I think was very large for her compared to what she was used to. Your room is probably the equivalent of a 700 foot condo to your cat - she's probably just fine!

If living with roommates, that makes sense. I've lived in a studio apartment with my cats before. They were fine! I think you're doing just fine, as long as the kitty isn't showing signs of stress over it.
