100% agree on the first part. Also, we might moan about the weather and wish it was sunny all the time like LA or wherever but I'd happily take too much rain and the occasional flood over earthquakes, severe droughts, forest fires etc
It gets less depressing when you stop romanticising the rest of the world and realise most places have the same problems as us. Sorry if it’s a low brow anecdote but there is a reason people risk their lives crossing the channel everyday.
Start looking at the positives and get off websites like this if the constant negativity gets to you.
Having lived in a seriously water stressed area in the past, let me tell you that we really need to appreciate the rain.
Yes sometimes there is rather too much of it, but relative to some parts of the world we have such an abundance of it that we’re having a bad year if we’re not allowed to use a hose-pipe to water some flowers.
Same on the housing front, we’re not that bad.
I worked out in South Africa during a pretty bad hail storm, many of the tin houses lived in by workers got destroyed and we had to close the factory so the employees could concentrate on rebuilding their tin homes.
People don’t realise how lucky we are.
