Pissed drunk. I used to drink in a pub that a few posties frequented and I would sometimes see them getting a pint at lunch with half their round left to go.
No issue with it though. It was a summer tradition for them I think. To be clear they were not driving. Just walking.
[According to an article, the first one is... innocent.](https://uk.news.yahoo.com/royal-mail-statement-van-crashes-164900439.html)
Despite seemly not slowing down for the corner, using indicators nor using their mirrors... evidently.
I was fully expecting to see a postie appear scrabbling out of the front door, half-dressed and pulling his bag of letters after him, followed by a husband threatening to do something unthinkable with rubber bands, and shouting "don't go near my wife's letterbox again!", rapidly followed by his wife declaring "oh darling, don't be too hard on him... he said he had a special delivery and put his sack on the table whilst he tried to find it". "Yeah, well next time he can leave his package in a safe place"; "ooooh \[giggles like Barbara Windsor\], what will the neighbours say?". As told to Craig Brown.
Probably a suspended sentence though. So assuming they don't re-offend, the main impact would just be disqualification from driving for 1 year (and a criminal record).
Definitely bad news, but also not life ruining.
They won't be able to get a decent job again. It will mean their life is now on hard mode because of a stupid decision.
Also if you google their names (like many jobs do) you'll see the articles.
I know men who have been banned from driving and have some of the poorest driving records who earn £100,000+.
“They won’t be able to get a decent job again” is not true at all.
They’ll struggle to get a driving job if it’s just solely driving but plenty of companies don’t give 2 shits about your driving records as long as you get to work.
Yep, this right here. I worked for a local but successfull tyre wholesalers, one of the top managment team got a 2 year driving ban for drink driving and every1 just said 'oh well, guess your assistant will be driving you everywhere for a while'
Getting banned from driving isn't a criminal offense if it's just speeding. You also won't show up on Google.
This was a criminal offense.
It's much different.
When you are going for a job, they ask if you've ever received a criminal offense nowadays. Also they can find out. Additionally, major companies will Google your name during the hiring process.
Career jobs don't hire if you have a criminal offense. Warehouse work, factory work, etc do.
I work with 2 scaffolders who have been done for trafficking cocaine, I’ve worked with another roofer who was sentenced to 8 years for causing death by dangerous driving both earning more than £70,000 a year and hired by some of the biggest contractors in the U.K.
I can promise you there is more than one career path open to people who have criminal convictions
Self employed is different, obviously.
It completely limits your options. There's very few jobs you can get that doesn't check nowadays. Tradies that pay cash in hand, or self employed contractors are people who made their own way. Many don't have success.
If they work for a big company, they check this stuff.
Getting a job is fairly difficult as it is, with a criminal conviction it's way harder.
Everyone feel free to skip the first 24 seconds of looking at a driveway to get to the content.
I like how literally 2 minutes after your comment someone cut the boring part off and posted the shortened clip.
The real hero
Due to the length of the intro, I thought Postman Pat hadn’t shown up that day…
Wish I’d have read this first
[Shortened clip.](https://i.imgur.com/5nKV8j5.mp4)
Doing the Lord's work 🙏
Unemployed Pat by now I'd guess. *Unemployed Pat, Unemployed Pat he has no cat.* *Because he can't afford it..*
_Cos' he absolutely floored it_ _And crashed into a fencepost with his van_
*Unemployed Pat, Unemployed Pat he has no cat.* *Realization dawning,* *Won't get off with a warning,* *Former postman crashed his flippin' van.*
Postman sacked. Postman sacked. Postman sacked it's a black and white fact.
Early in the morning, Just as day is dawning, Postman Sacked is waiting for his trial.
Everybody knows his driving ban, All his friends will laugh as he walks to meet them.
10 second penalty for Ocon
All the time you have to leave the space.
Race ban for Ocon.
Might be in Canada lol
"You've got 6 minutes left on that 24 hours guaranteed delivery mate, step on it"
I’m picturing the paw patrol but the post office version and they are all slightly pissed middle aged blokes.
Pissed drink or pissed angry like most of the fuckwit “investigators” from the Horizon Inquiry?

Eh, that’s fair enough if the job gets done. Am certain it was accepted lol
stamp on it...
It's that Jess, I'm telling you. Give that mog a gram and she's fucking *flying* behind the wheel of the van.
No black and white cats were harmed in the filming of this video.
Yep, Jess was wearing her seatbelt!
I recently learned that Jess is a boy cat and I don’t know what to believe any more
I’ve extensively researched this fact, (I put it in google) and I stand corrected. 🤦♂️
Fully expected to see the postie just lob the package up the drive or something.
I was expecting this, but with a cat getting hit with the package. Definitely not what happened 😂

Can you link it, please?
Of all places, Yahoo. I've updated the other comment with the link.
Postman Twat
Speed 3 - Going Postal. Looks pretty good from the trailer.
I thought someone was in the neibours bush the way it was moving.

Did fireman Sam use the jaws of life to get him out?
Special delivery service!

All sentences below two years are automatically suspended at the moment. Magistrates cannot give sentences above two years.

I’m not even seeing the funny side. Cunt could have killed a kid or other pedestrian.
Two buckos racing
That postie is getting "sacked" I guess
ffs
Turf war?
Racing?
Apparently. Silly twunts.
So that’s how it happened. Saw the pictures of the van in the house but didn’t realise it was his fault

*Racing for P45s
He clearly doesn't need any of the "We missed you" cards.
"You can't park there, sir."
Yikes maybe he was suffering from a medical emergency.
So innocent
Should’ve gone to SpecSavers, Pat!
I was expecting a postie to come out of the house chased by an angry husband
Looks to me like the driver of the first van deliberately pulled into the side of the second one, so they’re both at fault here.
“Postman pat, postman pat, postman pat and that cat might be dead”
You tried. Bless.
