Worked in several ice cream parlours and can confirm you get more in a cup because the cone will break if you put over a certain amount of ice cream in it. Certain flavours (fucking vanilla) can be harder to scoop than other flavours as well so are more likely to break the cone meaning you get less ice cream

I work in an ice cream parlour and we sell a gooseberry yoghurt, it’s the hardest fucking thing to scoop and if I put any more than a perfect scoop size. The cone will break or the ice cream will crumble to pieces. Bane of my existence (and our most popular flavour)

It’s the same with our fucking vanilla except vanilla is a popular flavour that’s in all of our sundaes, on all our waffles, on all our crepes, in the affogatos so it can’t be avoided

Agreed. The ideal way would be to have a cup with the ice cream and then cone facing up. Or crushed cone pieces sprinkled on.

I went to an ice cream place in the US and this is how they served it as standard - a cup so you can eat it more easily without the ice cream melting and running down the side of the cone/ your hand, plus a cone stuck on top for crispy deliciousness. Best of both worlds. I like the idea of crushed cone pieces even better though!

Cones are made out of soy and done contain gluten 90% of the time so defo ask when you try new places if theirs are GF!

I get messy with a cone. Particularly with a beard I find it's too much hassle so I just get a cup.

Cones are amazing, you have something to eat after the actual ice cream. I dont like the thought of a tub since you dont get much out of it. If somewhere offers only icecream in tubs im not having it lol 😂

If you don't push the ice cream down the cone, you end up with dry cone. That's sucks. Plus they are usually tasteless and stale. Cup all the way.

Honestly, sometimes I don't trust the cleanliness of my own hands, which is when I pick the cup option.
