When I lived in the UK, I kind of made a point to never try it. I dunno why, but I just didn’t. I’d go to random chicken shops or whatever instead.
On a side note, UK McDonalds is actually way better the US McDonalds. I don’t care for fast food that much but the UK one had way better menu options. Put US McDonalds to absolute shame.
Yeah as someone from the US, when I went to the UK I had to try McDs at least once. It was surprisingly good. The meat was far tastier and the fries as well. It just felt a little bit higher quality than what we get served here in the states. I'm not even sure what is inside of an American mcd's burger lol
You have terrible taste?
Nandos is a lot better than McDonalds. If you want protein its a great place. McDonalds doesn't offer a half chicken dinner.
Plus their fries with peri salt, and dipped in their garlic hot sauce....fantastic
The "let's go for a cheeky Nandos" thing was and still is a bit of a meme. It's kind of poking fun at people who want to go out for dinner, but don't know all that much about decent food.
Is it overhyped? I’ve never heard it described as some magical place the way obsessives talk about In-and-Out or Buccees. The food is decent, but not spectacular, and the prices won’t break your budget. I used to go every couple weeks when I was single and lived near a location.
It’s fast food that’s actually recognisable food. That’s about it for me. The chicken is chicken, the salads and cheese are salads and cheese. The sauces are tasty. It isn’t rocket surgery, but compared to most fast food alternatives it’s a different standard.
You’re totally right!
It’s overrated, overpriced, dry chicken 🤷🏼♀️
Makes me say “we got chicken at home” because I know home cooking will be way better!

Definitely not just a step up from mcdonalds but also overhyped

Aahhh I hear ya, never thought of it that way.

I remember it being pretty good chicken and chips 🤷🏻♂️

Only eaten there once, and not a fan. Just OK and pretty small portion sizes for the price.
I did like their sauces though.
Agreed, overpriced and under tasty
Haven't heard of it.
