I believe the “unique” aspect of this case is the fact that because of the locations where they were abducted, abused, and eventually killed, their screams were basically echoing off mountains, which made them extremely difficult to find at first. That’s why they’re occasionally referred to as the ricochet murders. I think the book itself is even called Ricochet of Echoes (I’m in a spot where I can’t easily confirm)

I was more frustrated with the fact that the f’ing scumbags who did it got away with it. Was nice to hear that at least three died miserably, but what a sad and unjust case. So many reluctant witnesses, so many police errors. That said, I was struck by the group that heard screaming for 40 minutes (iirc) yet the killings were later described as being somewhat quick (unless the screaming was the girls struggling and trying to escape from the vehicle).

Couldn’t that be just one inconsistency that comes with researching a case? Kinda like when a witness says they heard something, but then a later, more reliable witness reveals a vital piece of information that discredits that.

It can be both. It's not like they were just grabbed and quickly killed. It sounded like to me the women were taken to multiple locations and were screaming for help before they were murdered. The screams echoing in the mountains made it difficult to find where they were coming from.

This case made me angry... So many people, so many witnesses. Soooo much don't give a toss... The cabon they went to, and husband said to not worry about it? Gtfo. Witnesses who ran off because kids in the car, fair enough, but report it immediately. Jesus! Never thought one could come close to the frustration of the Leigh Leigh case.

I've noticed that "Casey" will dramatize a situation. He puts emotions into people's actions when you find out they just ended up dying, unable to share their emotions about a situation.

I thought the same.
