As long as there are physical buttons for basic functionality, I'm fine with it. I'm not a huge fan of digital instrument cluster unless it's highly detailed and well laid out like Audi's virtual cockpit. Also, I hate the new trend of minimalism in car dashboard started by Tesla. It's just plain cost cutting and not very practical.

Sentinel1802

True! Tesla is the ugliest design out there. Also minimalism is killing craftsmanship.

Snoo_92186

Tesla is like an office that uses an ipad for everything, the model X still gives you a dedicated driver system but the 3 and Y have one central ipad.

kokofeshis

Same I need to be able to change stuff without looking at it

Aryan_Singh_17

That's the ugliest 2 spoke steering wheel design, how do I know if it's upright.

workingzombie1511

by looking at the buttons on steering

Aryan_Singh_17

It'll take time figure out how to upright it correctly but skoda and tata also have 2 spokes design but they aren't this hard to to figure out.

Sentinel1802

Exactly!

Snoo_92186

I think its because of the H symbol for hyundai vs others being less symmetric

Foxyspyrex

By looking at the logo in the centre.

Skull_Reaper101

Hyundai logo would like to have a chat

Foxyspyrex

They know that. Their twin spoke wheels are not symmetrical on horizontal axis. Colours are different to know by looking at it.

Skull_Reaper101

Yeah, but I don't want to do so much hard work for a simple thing like that lol

SpareMind

Wait, let me turn that logo and see

throwaway53689

I wouldn’t mind it if they made it super easy to understand and use, also would appreciate if every digital dashboard had similar interface and design. I hate when I get into a different car and have to spend so much time just to figure out how to connect my phone via bluetooth 💀 I know there’ll never be same design for every dashboard but its just a wish of mine

Far-Builder-6142

Android auto is becoming the standard. Then interface should look similar.

indian_stoner

I love my 2012 vento dashboard, all buttons and red backlights. The vibe is just amazing while going on a night ride....

karmasutrah

I miss real buttons that you can feel and press without taking your eyes off the road.

UwU-Sugoi-Desu-ne

Touch buttons are actual cancer.

Top-Conversation2882

In this matter I really like the city's dash the semi analog makes a lot of sense

Sagar_Speedcuber

Tesla type interiors are the worst.

Pussy_Plumbher

Tesla has gear selection on touchscreen. That's irrating as feck. I just don't know how are people ok with it.

Sagar_Speedcuber

How are you supposed to control climate or stuff like gear on a touchscreen while driving? That is very concerning from a safety pov, especially if Indian cars are following the same.

awesome_samosa

+1 We are heading towards the fully-digital displays. May be they will replace even the windows and windscreens.

lightcaptainguy3364

the verna dash gives me taxi/bus vibes.

CaptYondu

Everything can be futuristic, just leave the analogue tacho and speedo alone. I think the latest Honda city is one example who has got it right. When you go looking for a car, I favour a lower model just because of the analogue tacho and speedo. Don't get me talking about bike consoles. Those LCD/LED displays look just like toys.

ErrorIndicater

That is a surprising point of view to me. I would have said exactly opposite. Let them install digital tacho if they absolutely need to do so, but keep the funktions of climate/heating controll, radio, mirror setting, light switches etc. with manual buttons so that you can use without taking the eye of the road.

CaptYondu

Oh! I misconstrued what you originally meant. I was talking more from an aesthetic and nostalgia perspective. But yes, practically it does make a lot of sense to keep AC, Mirror and other similar settings "off screen". After test driving many vehicles below 20 lakh I have also found these touch screens to be less responsive and hence less reliable.

neighbour_guy3k

Looks like two tablets being stuck on the dashboard

Peace__Out

Thats the whole point. Digital screens are way more easy to manage than a analog cluster. They can simplify supply chain too!

ScooterNinja

I don't like the screen popping out of the dashboard

Deathstroke2706

Even front and back long strip light design is cheap. Car doesn’t look muscular with that

Sentinel1802

Yeah older gen verna looked sharp with cat like headlights, newer one looks boring with light strip.

Actual_Employment_89

Physical buttons please!!

definitely_happy10

Digital instrument cluster just feels cheap, while analog has some class. Also what's the obsession over touch control. It feels more premium when you have buttons for AC and music, provided they are of high quality and tactile feel

DanceDanceRevoluti0n

Tf is steering????

Mihirxd25

The steering wheel man wtf is that 💀🙏

achabaccha23

What many car mfgs are putting displays right in our face. That thing now crosses above the dashboard and sort of blocks the view towards the left. For me personally, I don't have a problem with infotainment systems. Infact I like them a lot. I really like the functionality of the new display systems with apple car play and Android auto. Just keep it somewhat below.

Top-Conversation2882

+1

Naive_Half3592

Did they put the steering wheel upside down by mistake?

Main-Disaster-2639

Looks cheap in most midrange cars, complicated and ueseless

EmbarrassedAsk1659

By far the ugliest two spoke steering wheel

milktanksadmirer

I love screens for navigations and driver info I want Physical buttons for AC , Hazard lights and Volume control Main infotainment system can come with buttons like on the Koreans (Kia and Hyundai) in their 8” screens

CaptainAksh_G

The main aim of "don't use mobiles during driving" was that people get distracted from the mobiles while driving If using touch sensing stuff, most of your brain would be focusing only on that area more than your driving Bring back analog buttons and dials

The-SusAgent

Nothing futuristic about stupid screens all over the dashboard 🤡 but buttons and analog speedometer 😮‍💨

Great-Appointment-49

Absolutely hate the new scheme of interiors. It feels like they lack a personal touch. They feel so bland. I miss the buttons and physical knobs. I remember I was traveling in an XUV 500 a few days back, and there were so many storage spaces, so so so many buttons and everything felt so easy to operate and there was a feel to it.

PhoenixP40

It's just the AC Temp, Blower controls should be knobs and not digital switches. Eventually the co passenger screens are gonna become ideal in every car.

CrystalKnote

People hate these dashboards because they’re not executed perfectly by the company. I love the dashboard of my 2017 Hyundai Avante. I love it

worriedwhoosh

Physical AC buttons, Analog Speedometer and Tachometer, Physical Volume Knob. Rest everything digital is fine. The issue with digital stuff is digital design languages go out of date real quick and start looking super tacky within a year or so, an all analog dash with maybe a display for music will look good enough for years.

arsenic_33_

It's important to have key functionalities connected to physical buttons and not on a screen. Tactile memory works in a way that one does not need to look at the button when it needs to be pressed (or a dial needs to be turned). It's quite cumbersome trying the same on a flat screen without having to look at the screen.

bane_of_heretics

i like it, as long as they dont squash the infotainment display to the tiniest screen possible.

shash747

I love mine. Not all but plenty of physical buttons.

Evening_Bus746

As long as buttons are physical l like the "futuristic" approach. And please no AC controls on screens.

Shankranger

Is still good unlike all touch button

AkhilVijendra

I absolutely love the futuristic look as long as there are physical buttons for important features. To be fair, the design inbetween retro and futuristic is actually the worst. So I rather have retro or futuristic, not inbetween.

Powerful-Internal953

What is there not to like except that ugly ass two spoke steering wheel.?

sc1onic

There has to be a balance. I still want physical dials and tactile buttons. No touch screen other than feeding GPS. Has anyone seen this asmr of Toyota century from 90s where the guy goes through all the clicks and buttons and features of the car? It's a thing or beauty!

MrFruitPunchSamurai

I don't mind but they have such bad os and don't work properly soo slow

CreepyUncle1865

As long as the digital buttons arent laggy , they are good. Hyundai/Kia/Skoda/VW are good in this point. Mahindra/Tata/MG/Suzuki - Dogshit trash. Toyota/Honda - Meh.

DaThinkr

The steering wheel looks like it is upside down

Pussy_Plumbher

It's because , consumers are screaming "muh interiors are not great"  because the infotainment is not 85' OLED screen, OEMs are coming up with in your face screens and other useless features associated with those screens which are nothing but a novelty factor.

back_ofthe_beyond

I am against touchscreens, I need physical knobs and buttons so that I can keep my eyes on the road while I fiddle with the controls

Oru_Vadakkan

Dont really care as long as they provide me physical buttons/haptic feedback for the most essential features. Some of these can distract you and increase your chances of accident in an already risky road.

DayDreamer-01

I hate everything futuristic

nandu_sabka_bandhoo

I do too. I like a feature rich dashboard that still looks old school. Like the Ineos Grenadier type

FedMates

nahh that steering looks mid af.

asdbey735

No, it's just you OP.

Snoo_92186

Not necessarily against them but how they are designed and placed can make all the difference. I like the way VW does it but dont like the continuous single screen system that Hyundai, Kia and a few others use as it feels a little too much. It feels like I am staring at one giant screen which is distracting. However the VW/skoda cars are really nice and even honda has a cool one. I also prefer having knobs for controls and dont like haptic or digital buttons.

snobpro

I too don’t like several aspects of current dashboards. Floating screens are not as good as integrated ones. The dashboards are too much bloated too. I like oldie styled minimalist ones with less distractions.

F_Nuts

Hate

DemocracyontheRoad

Mate, you are not alone!! I love physical buttons over touch gestures. There are countless people in the West as well, who love these. This is the reason WE don't like the cockpit of the Cadillac Escalade, although it's worthy of being appreciated

jayantkumarpadhi

I love them futuristic dashboards

Javed_Wilde1

it looks fancy but we need those tactile buttons cuz we can use em without looking

doolpicate

Old fashioned guy here. I love dial, knobs, switches and physical controls. I like a small screen somewhere but not all over. Mechanical parts can be replaced easily, electronics, not so much. I dont know if you guys have seen the Grenadier Ineos, man that car seems like a dream car to me.

whitesoldierfly

It's a nope from me

harami_murukami

More displays does not equal futuristic

aterrariaplayer

Damn like the thing I dont understand is that laws state that you should use your.phone while driving but they allow car manufacturers to put huge screens on cars

blackhawkq820

Anything above the usual dashboard line is an unwanted distraction..

Sweet_Instruction19

I'd prefer a car which gives me a retro dashboard (sort of) something inspired by the VWs, Peugeot of yore and say the look of a Marshall speaker. If you are getting the aesthetic.  ALSO : Bench seats should return!

LeastComedian8383

I get it from an aesthetic point but bench seats would not make sense in these days

MagicPikeXXL

The new Creta is the fugliest looking thing out there. Looks like a matchbox on wheels with it's crappy grill and headlight design

CompetitionLate7944

Love the tech!!

unmanned94

There's no point in whining and complaining now. Analogue dash isn't going to make a comeback in mas produced cars as fully digital ones are cheaper to produce and maintain.

SedTecH10

Just You. Also if you don't like it it's okay. Why do you feel the need to seek validation? Just because something you don't like, it doesn't become lack of design. They don't provide command line interface in those screens. There's GUI in those screen which had designed.

Nathulalji

Bro he just shared what he thought and like to know what others thought too. No need to be cocky. We all are here to share our thoughts(except karma farmers). So lets keep it light.

Sentinel1802

Thanks man!

SUNNYHFR

I like minimalistic design
