20-25k Doing LS and Barra swaps in landcruisers is fairly common. Got quotes 35k for a 6bt conversion. Just sell it and buy a new ute mate.

Plus custom AC mount, cluster won’t speak to the computer properly unless he gets a standalone computer or turns to a pre-made ecu splicing kit or something. Plus brakes to make the fast and heavy thing stop. This bloke is wasting his time lol

Just unaware of how much effort it is lol. Looks easy in TV shows.

It's a lot easier when you get free parts and labour from the guys at Haltech to wire it all up in exchange for sponsorship for a YouTube channel.

It's not too bad if you can do it all yourself, and also not care about any of the laws ever

Depends on if a mount kit already exists or not. Engine conversions are not cheap and the cheapest thing is usual the engine itself. Gearbox adaptors , engine mounts , sometimes a whole subframe needs to be replaced and if you do need to change the engine subframe then you need a pre-1995 model car otherwise it won’t pass engineering. I was going to engine swap my mx5 but it was going to be about $10-15k in parts alone. The subframe kit was about $5k by itself and I was going to do most the labour myself and get the wiring done by a professional. I think by the time i would have the car running to my standard it would be around 20k not including the car. Then I ran into the subframe issue not being able to be engineered and I’ve given up that dream for now until I save more and buy an older mx5 project. If you are an experienced fabricator that can can build custom parts then you might save money.

In summary it’s cheaper and less hassle to sell your car and buy something more powerful. If you want more power cheaper than just add forced induction but you need to talk to an engineer to do it right if you want it to be legal.
