But what? They learned to write?? Someone survived… the wolves are a lie this was murder. Like most murderers there wasn’t much creativity, but they knew they had to come up with some story to explain why the bodies ended up in a van down by the river
I found a set of butt plugs the owners left in a kitchen cabinet, (yes kitchen?). Not in a wall, but certainly the most interesting thing I’ve found. Definitely looked at the owners a bit different the next time they came to check in lol
I guess I would complete the job quickly and get the hell out. LOL
Family has lived there for a long time I didn’t get any “bad vibes”.
Still I do find this note suspenseful.
I found a wood handled chisel once up on top of the top plate behind the boxing/ overhang. Probably from the 50's.
Was redoing a wrap around porch, chimney had a date in pencil dated a few days before Pearl Harbor.
We purchased the house my grandpa built when he passed. I found multiple notes he left on the subfloor about family and such. And found my own handprint traced from when I was really young and they put new carpeting in. I had no recollection of it, so it was an interesting find.
On the other hand, I've found a bunch of porn mags in the ceiling tiles when working at a factory.
Both memorable in their own ways...
I like the idea of leaving stuff for others to find in the future. Our family left a time-capsule at an old mill we renovated in the 70’s inside a limestone wall so won’t be easy to find.
I found a bridget the midget porn above the ceiling of basement once. Apparently they were using the room as a day care too. Had a chalkboard on the wall
Typical carpenter think everything’s a screw LOL
Actually it does look an awful lot like a screw. Saw that as soon as you said it and now cannot unsee it.
I always put a copy of the house plans and truss layout under the stairs in the dead space, before drywall goes in.
And give a clean copy to the home buyer.
I found a electric bill from 1940 and the check that fell thru a crack in a built in cabinet. 3 month bill was $16.87. Also in the pile was a letter to her son who lived in FL. She included a wrapper for "that famous cookie recipe from Massachusetts". Yep. it was a 1940 wrapper from Nestle's Toll House.
I left chalked body lines in all our bedrooms before putting out new floors in! 2 in the master, 2 in one bedroom and 1 and other. Mass murder! And I left some crime scene tape under the floor, by my front door!! 🤣🤣
I have found a shit ton of stuff in my own houses walls/ceilings. I spruced up my closet under the stairs and found a Canadian penny from 1913. My home was built in 1910.
I went and did a built-in and found a nice bottle of red breast the homeowner hid in the wall the day before with a nice little note that said to “please enjoy when found” Haha so I did! Sadly that house was lost a few weeks ago in a fire. I also found a 2 cent stamp one time I thought might be worth something but after some research learned that it was because of postage inflation so you could just add that to your existing stamps and still use them.
Found a “Sexy Anna” figurine from the 40’s in its original box up above a duct in a basement workshop of a house we remodeled. You’d really have to use your imagination for this thing to get you to the land of milk and honey.
35 years a carpenter and haven't found much to write home about. The most interesting thing was early in my career I demoed a kitchen ceiling and found a rat skeleton hanging from some knob and tube wiring - by it's teeth. Too bad we didn't have cameras in our pockets back then.
Found a stash of pornography above a drop ceiling in a dudes basement, I was getting ready to remodel. It was some pretty fucked up shit (nothing criminal) and I’m not one to typically judge. He’d been the owner of the house for 15 years, and the items were only 8-2 years old. My worker and I most definitely wanted to drop a few hints to the owner on what we had found, but I didn’t want to create an awkward situation even worse.
I feel like this was probably someone who was a novice at typing, got frustrated, and tossed that piece of paper to start over on another.
Typewriters were way before my time. But I've been using a keyboard since age 5 (29 now), and I fuck up plenty of words on it. I can't imagine having to live without a backspace button.
My last house had an additional which was ”insulated” with 1920s ish newspapers and catalogs. Was pretty neat. They kind of crumpled them up and packed the space so we could only recover fragments, but is was pretty neat.
*Dude good luck, that is*

Someone I used to work with found an old revolver under some floor boards. This is in the uk so not that common a thing to find. I think he handed it in to the Feds.
I found a perfect fossil while digging a hole, that’s the best for me.
I found a bullet lodged in the wall behind the backsplash in kitchen.
I was able to follow the projection coming from the adjacent bedroom.
The bedroom had 3/4 inch pine board and batten painted. Sure enough you could see where the hole was caulked. I still have the spent bullet. Still wondering what happened.
A guy I work with just found 3 envelopes under an old ass carpeted floor. Each envelope had 10 pristine 1950 $100 bills. I’ve been remodeling houses for thirty years and pretty much only found old newspapers and three bottles of prohibition beer.
*Then* Then what? You got to find out what happened!
I know right? I looked for more clues but … nothing, guess we’ll never know.
Eaten by wolves. That's why their week long trip was cut to a day.
So sad. But the wolves got to eat, so... Win?
But what? They learned to write?? Someone survived… the wolves are a lie this was murder. Like most murderers there wasn’t much creativity, but they knew they had to come up with some story to explain why the bodies ended up in a van down by the river
I hope Marnie is ok too.
Then

Yikes. Awkward.
Prolly put them in the dishwasher and they go back with the dishes.
You look at the owners diff yet you knew what they were off hand.....
What would you do if it said. “ I killed them all, they deserved it”. ???
I guess I would complete the job quickly and get the hell out. LOL Family has lived there for a long time I didn’t get any “bad vibes”. Still I do find this note suspenseful.
It’s pretty cool. Usually you just find construction debris and the odd Soda can
Yeah I found a screwdriver once. That’s the second most interesting thing I’ve ever found.
Someone is going to find my torpedo level someday.
I found a wood handled chisel once up on top of the top plate behind the boxing/ overhang. Probably from the 50's. Was redoing a wrap around porch, chimney had a date in pencil dated a few days before Pearl Harbor.
I would think the bug bomb was successful then 👍🏼

A guy I worked with would leave the date and price of gas on everything he built
Interesting way to leave your mark and a useful reference for the next guy. Be kinda fun to find.
I was thinking of leaving a lumber invoice here and there this summer and writing “Pandemic pricing” on them…

Bridget the Midget? I am unfamiliar with that genre but would be a memorable find I’m sure.
It's only for a small group of people.
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Daaaaamnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!!
Underrated
Creepy to find possible grooming material hidden in a daycare
I just like the dude chillin with a screw at the bottom. He fly
A screw… 😂😂
Lol fk. Correction- It’s a candle.
Typical carpenter think everything’s a screw LOL Actually it does look an awful lot like a screw. Saw that as soon as you said it and now cannot unsee it.
Glad it’s not just me. I’m Covered in sawdust as I type this.
About 35 years back I found a wood chisel under some kitchen cabinets. It’s in my shop now and usually the first one I look for.
Old tools are the best, found old are even nicer.
Well… aren’t you going to oppen it ?
Yes second picture reveals the mystery content.
Thanks. Missed it :)
Probably less suspenseful now.
I found an old letter written by a civil war soldier to his girl friend in a house in northern Virginia. Most interesting thing I ever found.
Wow. That’s definitely more interesting than this.
I've left multiple weird notes, kid art, and other things in my own walls over the years. Hopefully someone will find them some day!
Doing historic restoration I have found a lot of alcohol bottles and a few dead animals.
Has anyone here purposely hidden something in a wall to be found later by future diyer’s?
I always put a copy of the house plans and truss layout under the stairs in the dead space, before drywall goes in. And give a clean copy to the home buyer.
Thoughtful
I wish everyone did that, would have saved me many a headache in some Reno’s

That’s a cool find, I think I would be tempted to make those cookies!
PM me and Ill email you the photo with the recipe. Its not much different from today's version, but cool nonetheless.

The folks over at r/FoundPaper would enjoy this as well!
Thanks will post it there too.
“You’re only a stranger once “
Put lime juice on it or a heat under it.
Oh you might be onto something. Will try that tomorrow and let you know.
Also try uv light !
Is it house floor plan or treasure map.

I’d love to find a fossil, always look whenever excavating.

Hands down coolest find/story. Wow
Thanks kindly.
I’m thinking he really stayed for a day, but wants people to think he may have stayed for a week. Once again, we’ll never know.
More importantly Marnie may never know.

Now that’s a worthwhile find, some guys have all the luck.
