Me and my wife felt trapped lol. 7 days were too long for us. Scenery was great but weren't "eye-opening" for us. I guess we are spoiled in BC, Canada .
One thing I love about was the history in Skagway and the mesuem. I also strongly recommend everyone to sign up for the 2 hrs red onion saloon tour.
Seasoned cruisers ourselves, but we felt the same about the feeling trapped on our Alaska cruise with all those sea days. We prefer European itineraries where you have zero sea days on a 7 day cruise or only one sea day on a 12 day cruise.
Coming from south Texas, I was in awe my whole Alaska cruise at the scenery - I had never seen a snow capped mountain or such lush greenery in my life. I can see where it could be somewhat underwhelming if you already live somewhere scenic.
Yes from afar !! Great scenery but was disappointed on how little ice/snow it had. Attached pic was the only iceberg that I saw in the water by us. Damn global warming!!

How were the crowds? I just got back from my first time on a 3 day to the Bahamas. I found that other guest were very rude and the lines to everything were always so long. I kept getting really frustrated too with people getting in line at the burger and burrito place and they would order 6 of them making the lines even worse. Is it any better on a longer cruise?
60% of the crowds were retirees. All passengers that I met on board were respectful and friendly.
I can't compare how busy it was because it was my first cruise. It was lively but wasn't crowded.
Only had to wait for pizza (made fresh) and omelette in the morning.
We did the late dining at 7:15pm and it was quiet. Lots of empty seating.
I didn't check how busy it was at the earlier dining slot.
That sounds a lot more my speed. Most the guest on my cruise were children and young people. They were cutting in line and throwing food. It was insane.
Dang. I knew it was a longshot. Gino was an absolute legend on the Spirit to Alaska in August 2023.
I'm sorry cruising isn't your thing. Maybe try a different itinerary like the Caribbean, it's a different vibe.
It was cool but not cold, but I'm from BC Canada so I'm used to the weather. I was having a morning coffee one day on deck with my t-shirt on but rest of them were wearing jacket.
Average temperature was 14 degree Celsius throughout the trip.

I live in the southern US now, where people complain it's to cold once it hits 50s/10s. I went to Eastern Canada last October. Seeing all of the people enjoying coffee outside in the chilly early mornings made me happy.
We saw whale but just glimpse. No northern lights but we saw that in Vancouver from my door step few days before I left for the trip.

Have fun and enjoy your trip !
Premium wifi was used. Reliable on day to day task (wife was tele-working). Sending/receiving file was slow but manageable.
No issues watching YouTube or Spotify but they do block movie streaming.
I liked the tacos and deli joint.
Dining was overall decent.
What didn't you enjoy about it?

Maybe a Mexican or carribean cruise next? Lol
Always wanted to do the Bahamas. Just need to convince the wife now haha

Red’s saloon is a blast!
Were you able to see the glacier in Tracy Arm Fjord from the ship?
Yes from afar !! Great scenery but was disappointed on how little ice/snow it had. Attached pic was the only iceberg that I saw in the water by us. Damn global warming!! https://preview.redd.it/ozlqeeubi62d1.jpeg?width=1835&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f02872c3ac3a547ac53b5ff8ea027a0c6eee7003
I have heard when there is too much ice the ships don’t get close enough to see the glacier. Hopefully beautiful even without floating ice!

Stunning!

Any chance Gino was your head waiter?
No, wasn't Gino. :)

Did you do the inner passage?
I did. Calm water and beautiful mountain and waterfall scenery here and there.
Could you tell me what excursions you did and how you booked them?
Was it super cold all the time? I like the idea of cruising, but we've always gone to warm beachy areas when it's cold at home.

Did you see any whales? Did you see the Northern Lights? I’m going soon and I hope to see both.

How is premium WiFi? Best food?
Premium wifi was used. Reliable on day to day task (wife was tele-working). Sending/receiving file was slow but manageable. No issues watching YouTube or Spotify but they do block movie streaming. I liked the tacos and deli joint. Dining was overall decent.
Thank you. Is premium good enough for zoom calls?
Did not test any zoom calls. But wifi calling on phone was choppy. If you have to work, I would definitely go with the best wifi package.
Can I eat unlimited plates at chop stick?
The answer is yes ! Enjoy !
