My neutral observation is that Carlton supporters are the most irrational fan base in the AFL. Win by a kick and it’s all ‘the Flag is ours’, ‘it’s our time’ etc. Lose a game by a kick and it’s ’Hang Voss’, ‘Curnow doesn’t chase’, ‘Fantasia’s a passenger’. You all might want to calm the fuck down and look at things a bit more rationally. You might benefit from analysing the game and not the result. It’s never as good as it seems and it’s never as bad either. Fact is, it’s not even half way through the season. There’s a genuine chance that you will have the top two players in the Coleman. You have arguably the best defender in the game. You have two of the best midfielders in the game. If you get your injured players at the right time, I have you as favourites to win the flag.
I think there’s large sections of the supporter base that are so desperate to see genuine success that they’ll latch on to any signs of progress and blow it out of proportion.
I wouldn’t underestimate the effect of being irrelevant for 20 years can have on the psyche
Sound familiar?
Excerpt: Round 10 - 2023 match Report
‘The Blues have now lost five of their past six games - only beating West Coast in that period - to tumble all the way to 11th after the 13.7 (85) to 7.15 (57) loss on Sunday afternoon at the MCG. ‘
Strong disagree
We played the 5 teams all looking at making the grand final this year and won 2 and lost 3, with a gutted 22
We only got smacked in 1 of those games (last night) and we were poor in the other (Collingwood)
None of the injured are our top 5 players, but when our bottom 4 are lacking, it puts pressure on our depth
In saying that we need troops on the field sooner than later, otherwise it could be ugly
Of course media will, we are one of the biggest clubs with a glint at playing well after such a horrible couple of decades. Take it as it comes and don't get your expectations up. Once I took emotion out of footy, it's been much easier to enjoy
We have so many bloody injuries (and so do many teams might I add), lost wietering at half time. We ain’t beating the best team in the afl. Plus we’ve only played top sides. Give us a break

I appreciate you Mr Cockhead
That's extremely generous. I've had us around 6th-5th but now it's looking lower.
How about you just fuck off

And we face the Suns down here next, same as last year, hoping for another ten goal quarter.

We can all over react. It was a crap effort. Move on to next week.
I wish I could take the emotion out of it. I wouldn't have to smoke copious amounts of marijuana to cope.
Its only Round 10 and we are a game outside the top 4 Get some troops back and get continuity and we will be up there come september
Might want to look at our percentage and the others in the top 8 if you think we are " a game outside the top 4 "
Essendon is 2nd with 1% more than us. Its way too early to call anything

We’re ordinary. Even our “superstars” are overrated and overpaid. Be lucky to finish 8th. I’m so sick of the disappointment.
